Castle Loch is a shallae eutrophic loch kiverin an aurie o aboot 247 acre in the toun o Lochmaben in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. It lies til the wast o Mochrum Loch[1] an haes twa islets. The ruint Lochmaben Castle lies at the soothren end o the loch.

The loch wis vizzied[1] in 1903 bi James Murray an later chairtit[4] as a pairt o Sir John Murray's Bathymetrical Survey of Fresh-Water Lochs of Scotland 1897-1909.

Castle Loch is an important ower-winterin location for the pink-fittit guiss (Anser brachyrhynchus) an the harle (Mergus merganser) (kent as a rantock or saw neb an aw). It haes been notit as a Wetland o International Importance unner the Ramsar Convention,,[3] an haes been designatit a Site o Speicial Scienteefic Interest.[5]
