User page

[change source]

Earlier I saw you request your page deleted so you can claim your global page. I have my global account and I have seen user pages mirrored to the other wikis. How is that done? Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 06:43, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a meta user page, if you have no local one it is automatically transcluded. I was going to retain my Enwiki user page, but use a global elsewhere. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:02, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. So I can basically copy my page here and put it on meta and let it run through? That sounds easy. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 07:03, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, bare in mind all the links would have to point to simple wiki as it'd no longer be on this wiki Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:07, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thanks for that info. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 07:09, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template on ENWP

[change source]

Hi Lee. Can you take a look at en:Template:Israel–Hamas war and correct it. Looks like there was a lot of vandalism done by a blocked user and the formatting is all off. It may be better with template editor permission rather than extended protection. When it’s fixed can you let me know, or if you want, copy it over to here please? Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 08:03, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I know absolutely zero about the Israel-Hamas war, and wouldn't want to do any proxy editing. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:41, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can’t post on enwp. Perhaps you can ask someone to take a look at it. It’s badly formatted. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 08:43, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment on CU

[change source]

Your comment is out of hand and attached to a CU request that was handled by the CUs and is almost 2 weeks old. It was not needed and as a reminder, you are not an admin here and the way you speak to me (and others), especially in that comment, makes it appear as you are one. Please stop. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 22:42, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As soon ago as 6 days ago, you were still putting in IP addresses in CU reports, despite being told lots of times they can't do an IP and user account. Since 24 March you've put in three reports including IPs, and four times you've put in reports on a single user. The idea of CU is to use the tools to check two (or more) accounts and confirm if they are operated by the same user.
For obvious reasons, you can't check one user against itself, and no check user or Steward will confirm an IP by checking it against an account. It's imperitive we use the correct noticeboards as it reduces strain on the admin workload. I am not an admin, and have never pretended to be one, but pointing users to the correct locations is one thing I can help out with. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 22:57, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the top part of WP:RFCU. It explicitly states "On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked." I have asked a checkuser about this, as the comments, like the one you just made and a comment they made, directly contradict this. The single accounts are already known to who they are. In the comments, it is put in there. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the privacy policy directly states that, unless in really strong situations (I'm certainly no expert, I've rarely seen it) IPs won't get doxxed. Might I suggest that the wording is changed. I'll let you talk to the individual CUs. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 23:07, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is why I started the conversation with them. Perhaps you may not have been aware, which is OK. But still some of the IPs have been indeffed. You do not know me very well, so I encourage you to try to understand me instead of jumping the gun and posting things like that. BTW, you stated 2 only, no more, no less. Actually, we can do more than two and sometimes just one, as I stated, because we have certain socks our CU team is aware of and have memorized. Sometimes they go to VIP board. However, I also understand where you are coming from. I will do my best to follow. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:12, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'm sure it does get done that way, but it's not a great idea for it to be. Sockpuppetry should really be explicit, but I can see why it might be quicker to report that way. If we both do our best to take things to the correct board, it'll give our admins the best possible chance to make the best decisions. Have a great night. You too and BTW, YGM. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:19, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I don't get involved with SPI on enwiki, I can't help you with that. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 23:20, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
