Visiting students wanting to attend UC Berkeley Summer Sessions are eligible to take online/web-based or in-person offerings:
- ONLINE/WEB-BASED: Courses designed to be conducted in an online setting, generally following asynchronous (non-real-time) instruction. These classes have undergone months of development to ensure consistent teaching pedagogy to provide a full learning experience.
- IN-PERSON: Courses that are taught in person in a classroom on campus. These courses may be conducted using either synchronous (real-time) or asynchronous (non-real-time) instruction. Visiting students hoping to take synchronous courses should consider their class schedule, as not all courses allow time conflict.
You can review course offerings and modes of instruction on the Academic Guide.
Students seeking information regarding a specific course are advised to reach out directly to the academic department or the course instructor. A complete list of academic departments can be found here.
