    Clearly, University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins has lost whatever credibility he once had with faculty, staff and most importantly the public. Which leads us to wonder if the Regents are attacking this problem with anywhere near the sense of purpose they exuded at the December meeting, or if they are simply spackling over the rough patches until eyes are diverted elsewhere.

      The Lukeville closure has created an untenable situation that must be dealt with now. If that weren’t crystal-clear before, the shooting death in an American car on a Sonoran highway this week — part of one of the detour routes to Rocky Point — certainly should make it so.
