Established in Bristol in 1963, Bart Ingredients Ltd has been sourcing, selecting and sharing premium quality herbs, spices and seasonings from around the world for over 60 years. We are relentless in our pursuit for exceptional quality and flavour. We specialise in the creation of ingredients including herbs, spices, seasonings, home-baking, sauces and pastes and offer over 500 products to our customers. Owner of the flagship, premium brand Bart, we also supply most multiple retailers with a portfolio of private label ingredients and contract pack for many leading brands. Part of the independently owned Fuchs Gruppe, Europe's largest spice producer and employer of 2,800 people in 8 countries across four continents, Bart employs c.200 people across two manufacturing sites in Bristol and Newbury. We are a vibrant, growing business, that treats our customers’ businesses as our own. We had an absolute blast down on the harbour for another year of Frank Water's Stand Up For Safe Water event. As always, we had so much fun and all for an extremely important cause. Thank you to everyone at Frank Water for organising such a brilliant event and for all of our Bart colleagues who took part in the windy conditions! So far, the event has raised an incredible £4,773 for Frank Water's vital clean water, hygiene and sanitation projects around the world.

Bart Ingredients are committed to sourcing and supplying safe, quality foods for our onward customers and consumers. With our ethos of collaborative working, some Bart colleagues have attended key industry events over the past several weeks, with varied topics including Authenticity, Sustainability and Regulatory Divergence at the heart of the agendas: In mid-May we attended the Sustainable Spice Initiative (SSI) General Assembly in Budapest, focussed on collaborative efforts towards a sustainable herbs and spices future for our sector. Later in May we attended the annual European Spice Association (ESA) General Assembly, held in a (very hot!) Murcia sharing the latest crop reports, as well as discussing emerging risks, regulatory updates and general industry challenges. Our Technical Director Gideon Ashworth was invited to co-chair the Proactive Food Safety Conference in London in June and presented on Resilient Supply Chain Strategies. We then attended the Food Industry Intelligence Network (fiin) annual meeting in June, held in London – shared data on a big scale to collaboratively mitigate food fraud and other current concerns.

Happy World Food Safety Day! Although we believe that every day is a Food Safety day, Bart colleagues have spent the week celebrating our Food Safety and Quality Culture, attending toolbox talks across the Bart sites, learning more about our Intake lab controls and taking part in an interactive black light handwashing exercise, all of which help to reiterate the message that Food Safety is Everyone’s Business.

Our new design, created with the award-winning The Space Creative, aims to inspire home cooks by delving into the rich history and origins of each ingredient. The packaging pays homage to the continent of origin and the specific plants from which these ingredients hail. The addition of tasting notes also provides helpful guidance for customers on their next culinary adventure.
