Allstate will not help in your time of need

We had a catastrophic accident at our home. A 60,000 oak tree crashed through our house basically cutting it into two. It also shook the house like an earthquake so badly that the house shifted off it's foundations. Allstate never even came to look at until 2 weeks after the accident. It's now been 6 weeks and they finally submitted a statement which is no way will cover the repairs to the home. As a middle class family, our home is our largest asset and represents our financial security. Our future has not been compromised and Allstate could care less. Don't believe the other reviews posted here by bots. Allstate will not be there for you when you need them.

Allstate is an absolute trash company

Allstate is an absolute trash company. I purchased insurance for a TV I bought and their pamphlet specifically said it covered my TV. However, all I got was smoke and mirrors before the agent admitted my TV wouldn't be covered and tried to refer me to the manufacturer warranty. I will do everything in my power to make sure every person I know understands how they operate and avoids any form of "coverage" from Allstate.

UPDATED REVIEW

This is an updated review from a homeowners claim that started 16JAN2024. Allstate has jacked us around and refuses to pay the cost to repair my home to pre-incident condition. I’m so frustrated. Getting ready to PCS and need to sell my house. These people are a joke and one big scam.

Update: We have gone from bad to worse! Here we are 8months after the initial claim with no resolution. We have gotten a public adjuster, filed a Department of Insurance claim, and things just keep going downhill. After requesting a new claims adjuster at Allstate, which we received (Lance Yamasaki), it’s as if he’s even newer and more clueless than Carmen. This guy denied coverage on the loft area which was where the incident occurred AND they have already paid out some on. Seriously?! Oh and not to mention he’s now asking for pictures showing the area…..pictures they received long ago. It’s as if no one at Allstate communicates and nothing is streamlined. Are they not reading the file in its entirety?! Are they not capable of doing the job efficiently?? @Allstate you should be ashamed of yourself and the incompetence of your employees. This is adjuster number 3 for this case and NONE of them have even met expectations. #nevergowithallstate

Strill trying to help my son in closing…

Strill trying to help my son in closing out his claim for 8 months after totaling his car. Being on autopay, and with no guidance from his agent, I found that he had still been paying for his policy and was told to renew. So he renewed but the new rate was 200% higher. We talked to several people who agreed in getting reimbursed. They were very helpful in trying but we got transferred to Jason in customer service. He told my son that the only amount they would reimburse from 9 months of overpayment was $300. We were shocked to hear this and he said that was all he could do. In inquiring more, he muted himself and hung up after 40 seconds or so. Jason has no business being in customer service and deserves a -10 in my book.

Received phone call 8/22/24 at 1:30pm…

Received phone call 8/22/24 at 1:30pm asking me to just hear a quote from all state. The rep was foreign. I went through this 2 days ago. They connect you to an AllState rep to give a quote. So I politely declined and was immediately called an @&&4077. I was shocked. I said excuse me, and the individual proceeded to ask for personal information, which according to this individual, already had some of my personal information. So, I am on a call with a representative of AllState who is now threatening my life from another country…because I did not want a quote? Please tell me I am the only person to experience this…if not, what is wrong with you AllState!? This IS DOMESTIC TERRORISM! I am appalled by the actions of these individuals, and when contacting AllState, they assured me that it was not AllState, and there is nothing to worry about, and they are sorry…until I mentioned that these calls get directly routed to AllState Insurance! Of course, management was busy, but they promise to call me back and resolve this issue. I am sorry, but as an American citizen, I never should have to listen to terrorists, especially in my phone in my house. I am aware that these characters most likely do not have the information they aim to have, but what if? Allstate…seriously!? Now I get why they contact overseas…plausible deniability. I digress…

Unhappy customer.

Unhappy customer.
I recently received an email for a policy payment. My payments have always been set to auto pay. The email I received was to tell me this was a cancellation notice and a payment due notice with a late fee. I have never paid my payments late. This whole problem is caused completely by Allstate and Melissa Evans my agent and her office.

What a money sucking company

What a money suck company. Beware, if you have a valid claim...they will deny your claim. We have used them for over 30 years but when we had a hailstorm that caused damage to the roof and a couple windows Allstate claims person denied the claim saying that she does not see the damage. We have had several inspectors and the Allstate inspector saying there was damage. Maybe Akilah Iyare will get a bonus for denying claims! We will be dropping them.

This is the worst company I have ever…

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. From their incompetent sales reps to their incompetent Indian team. they initially take the call and extends your call an hour before you speak with a real rep. When you need an insurance binder they will screw you over and not listen to you or your loan company. Their dec page looks like from 1980. I almost missed out on a car because of them. I will be leaving ASAP w my wife and NEVER coming back. What a horrible joke of a company

Don’t Purchase Allstate’s Square Trade insurance

This is by far the absolute worst insurance company that is in existence. They are behind Square Trade which provides insurance on items from various retailers. Square Trade’s job is to by all means necessary avoid paying your claim. Never, Ever pay for the Allstate Square Trade insurance on any item you buy. When your item breaks down, they will tell you it had a pre existing condition and they won’t pay.

My goodness, my God

I was really not surprised that Allstate, and (National General) an (Allstate company) in Salem,VA were run by the same couple. On a scale of one to ten. One being yuck… Three is my score on customer satisfaction. I hope they treat customers better than me. Never one single lapse, I always paid on time. Learning customer service is not a lost art. Train your employees on how they can help customers and not make them feel uncomfortable when they call. They lost my business over attitude alone.

Claim Denied

I placed a claim for wind damage in Oklahoma after a tornado touched down six blocks from my house. Wind from this storm ripped the roof off my carport, after an inspection an adjuster called me from Illinois to say Allstate denied my claim because he could not find any indication of strong storms in my area on said date. After I ask him if he called my local TV stations or national weather service he said he would review the matter. One week later he called to say Allstate stilled denied my claim. I asked again if he called my local TV stations and national weather service he said no, he had someone look into it for him. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM ALLSTATE

Horrible chat service. Fraudulent business practices

Horrible chat service. Unable or unwilling to assist. Unable or unwilling to transfer to a supervisor who can assist.
Allstate emailed advising my policy renews on 8/7/24 and my card would be charged on 8/1/24. I logged in on 7/31/24 to update the policy and payment, only to find out they processed the payment early. Their chat agent advises this is normal behaviour. As a result, I've lost the minor discount available for paying in full which is necessary because my NEW policy (from 2/1/24) has increased over 25% in less than 6 months - with no change to my driving, my vehicle, or my policy.

Decline my claim because they could not reach their customer

In July 18th 2024 afternoon, I drove my car on the way to my home at I-45 north. I stopped because the traffic ahead of me. However, my car was hit by the car (2006 Buick Lucerne) behind me. My car got some bumper damage and the trunk could not be opened. I collected the insurance information from the Buick driver (a young boy, and I have a copy of his driver license). Because the car damage was not too bad and I was not hurt, we did not call the police to the scene.

After I got home, I filed a claim to the Buick driver's insurance company (Allstate Insurance) right away, and emailed the photos I took on the scene to them later upon an Allstate agent's request. However, I did not get feedback from Allstate for a couple weeks, so I called them today for an update. Unfortunately, they told me they would not be paying for my car damages because they could not reach their customer (the 2006 Buick insurance policy owner) to confirm my claim and they could not tell if my car was hit by their customer's car just from the photos I took in the scene. The photos clearly depict the damage the crash caused with the other car behind mine, but the agent said that we needed an image showing direct contact between both cars to confirm my story, and I do not have a police report. However, taking a picture of this moment would be nearly impossible because of how the cars drifted apart following the crash.

I am totally lost! I do not think it is my fault that Allstate could not get contact with their customer. What kind of evidence I should show them to prove my claim?

Anyway, they just ignore my complain and close the case! Maybe this is the way Allstate save their money!

I really want to stress that if you are…

I really want to stress that if you are looking for an insurance company, Allstate should not even be in your rear view mirror. Period.

I’m constantly getting excuses for repairing our issues, in the like of “we’re busy with many other claims, etc…”. It turns out that we’ve been waiting for 2.5 years for the work to be completed. Still waiting.
I know and understand more and more claims are coming in, sadly due to our times, there will be more and more in future. It’s no reason to ignore and push aside the least (now) urgent claims. I am a paying client.

I'm not a customer ~~ Telemarketing Harrassment

I'm not a customer ~~ Allstate has chosen to outsource telemarketing to drum up new business. I have never been, will never be, have never asked, have never digitally enquired about Allstate. I see the rates, I see the refusals to pay, I see the headaches, I'm not interested in anything you have to offer. I called Allstate & am told I need to register at dmachoice.org in order to be removed from their contact list. uhmmmmm, NO... WHY would you think I need to pay to be removed? Are you serious?!?!?! I don't care it's only $5.00 admin fee. I'm not paying diddly squat. I sincerely hope anyone else receiving these harassing phone calls will join me in filing complaints with the FTC, FCC, AG, & anyone else that I can find to notify of these shady business practices. Btw, I've been on the DNC list since it's inception. Every time my phone rings, I will file a new complaint with them.

We have Allstate for our homeowners…

We have Allstate for our homeowners insurance. Five weeks ago we had a house fire and the main problem has been the soot. We immediately filed our claim within 2 hours after the fire started and the fire department had left. To date, the only thing Allstate has done for us is to move us into a temporary for what will be upwards of 4 months. However our main adjuster could not find housing for a family of four for three weeks! I found an "okay" place to get right into but the cost was over $12,000 per month. Then I finally found a house, my husband and I went over the same day and agreed with the owner that it would be just fine for our family. It took Allstate another week to get paperwork done, RIDICULOUS! To date, five weeks after the fire, all of the vendors that Allstate used so far have been paid. We have been paid NONE of our property loss claims. I spend 12-14 hours per day battling with Allstate to no avail. Please reconsider having Allstate be your choice.

They are terrible at paying claims

They are terrible at paying claims. They will not offer enough to pay for the claim. They will use stall tactics. They will try to find any loopholes that they can to avoid paying. They will pick apart your coverage. They will say that rot from water exposure is not covered. They will completely ignore thd fact that it took them 4 months to pay on the claim. They will threaten that filling a claim for hail damage will raise your insurance rates. Their adjusters will over talk you and bully you. Or they will be extremely incompetent. I would not recommend this company!
