Gamesense Terms & Conditions

1.1. These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the GameSense Tools.

1.2. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission ("AGLC") may amend or alter these Terms at any time without notice.

1.3. Members can access the current Terms on a Winner’s Edge kiosk at any participating Casino Facilities and on the website at WinnersEdge.ca.

1.4. AGLC is not liable for any damages that may occur from using the GameSense Tools as part of the Winner’s Edge Program.

1.5. Members use the GameSense Tools at their own discretion. AGLC provides these tools as an aid for Members to help manage their play and to ensure they are engaged within their limits.

1.6. The decisions of AGLC with respect to all aspects of the GameSense Tools are final and binding on all participating Members without right of appeal.

2.1. “Budget” refers to a Member’s daily spend/time limits.

2.2. “Card” is the Winner’s Edge membership card (or a replacement card) that is provided to each Member upon enrollment.

2.3. “Casino Facility” means locations and/or services that operate AGLC equipment and/or AGLC services.

2.4. “Gaming Terminal” means the machines that are approved for use with the Program. Gaming Terminals include slot machines, video poker machines, and some Electronic Table Games (eTables) exclusively at Alberta Casino Facilities. VLTs are not eligible for the Winner’s Edge Program.

2.5. “iView” is the touch screen display which is used to display relevant information on eligible Gaming Terminals regarding the Winner’s Edge program.

2.6. “Kiosk” is the Winner’s Edge Kiosk that is available at Alberta Casino Facilities to provide Members access to the GameSense Tools.

2.7. “Member” is a voluntary participant of the Winner’s Edge Program who is over the age of 18.

2.8. “Net Loss” means the approximate net loss in Canadian dollars, calculated after winnings.

2.9. “Notification” is a message that will (as per 3.5) appear on the Gaming Terminals’ iView display.

3.1. There are two types of Budgets (each, a “Budget” and collectively the “Budgets”) that a Member may set using the GameSense Tools and their Card.

3.1.1. Time Budget: A Time Budget represents a time limit set within a 24 hour window.

3.1.2. Spend Budget: A Spend Budget represents the Net Loss in Canadian dollars, calculated after winnings.

3.2. Budgets can only be set by the Member whose name appears on the Card.

3.3. A member may only change either of their Budgets once in a 24 hour period.

3.4. Once set, Time and Spend Budgets will be in effect until either or both are changed.

3.5. The GameSense Tools are designed so that Members who have set a Budget will receive Notifications as they approach their set Budget (Time/Spend). Notifications (subject to 3.6) are sent after Members exceed the following thresholds: 60%, 100%, and 150% of their set Budgets.

3.6. After exceeding the set Budgeted limit, a Notification will appear on the iView. The Member will not be required to acknowledge the Notification displayed on the iView.

3.7. Notifications are not displayed in real time; there may be a time delay of up to 5 minutes before a Notification is displayed.

3.8. A Member may increase their Budgets. Budget increases can be performed at a Winner’s Edge Kiosk or through the Member Online Account. Once updated, budget increases will take effect 24 hours following the next Card-in at a Gaming Terminal.

3.9. A Member can decrease their Budget(s). Any decrease to Budget(s) will take effect immediately after the decrease is submitted at the Kiosk or on the online portal.

3.10. If a Member exceeds their Budgets, it is their choice whether to continue or to stop playing once their Budget has been reached.

4.1. A Member can un-enroll from the GameSense Tools by logging on to their online account. Completion of the un-enrollment process on the online account will take effect immediately after the request is submitted.

4.1.1 A Member can also request to un-enroll from GameSense Tools by calling the Winner's Edge Call Center at 1-833-WIN-EDGE (1-833-946-3343) directly. Completion of the un-enrollment process may take up to 24 hours from the time the request is made. The Member must also Card in at the Kiosk to confirm un-enrollment from GameSense Tools.

5.1. In addition to the Winner’s Edge Privacy Terms and Conditions, AGLC will never disclose Member’s personal information when Notifications are displayed on the Gaming Terminal with respect to using GameSense Tools.

5.2 Your GameSense Tool choices and associated activity will be maintained with your other personal information on the Winner’s Edge Program database. This personal information is protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and:

5.2.1. Will not be used for any other purpose other than to support your GameSense Tool choices and

5.2.2 Will not be disclosed to any third party.

5.3 If you have questions about the management of your GameSense Tool choices and associated activity please contact a GameSense Advisor at an Alberta Casino Facility.

5.4. Questions about the collection of personal information may be directed to the Winner’s Edge Call Centre at 1-833-WIN-EDGE (1-833-946-3343).
