With age I started appreciating energy. When I got sick with Covid in July, I kept a fire burning in my fireplace while I was laying exhuasted on the couch in my living room. Fire gave me energy. I love candles for that reason. At the same time I love candles with scent that reminds me of nature. For a while I had been a sucker for Volcano candles but they are more of a candy smell.
When I discovered La Jolie Muse candles I fell in love. I love the jar. I love the size. I love wooden wick. Some people say that wooden wick does not burn well. I had one candle out of 5 with this problem and I just patiently burned it until the issue went away. But usually it burns very well! I read one review, which says that wooden wick is "too noisy"! Bring this kind of noise in my life more! I am tired of screeching TV, airplanes, trains, screams of hyper kids, shallow digital music, motorcycles. I want to listen to air, water, fire, earth sounds.
Smell... one thing is clear - La Jolie Muse cares about the scent. It is always multi-faceted and not in your face. I did not try coconut/vanilla one as I am taking vacation from candy smells. This Provence Lavender is a winner! I tried SO many lavender candles just to discover they smell of chemical soap... This candle smells what I hoped lavender candle would smell like! I can tell there are other smells in it but ALL OF THEM are natural, woody, friendly. Very comforting and at the same time not addictive as candy smells often are. No love-hate relationship, only love.
Provence Lavender scent is on top of my list along with Rose Oud. Wild Rose is also fantastic.
