UPDATE: I tested the fire tinder strand by fraying a piece with my knife edge and striking a ferro rod with my knife. It lit on my first try, and a 1" long piece burned for almost a full minute! That is impressive, indeed!

Paracord has long been a crucial part of any fully prepared emergency pack. But how can you make it even better? By creating it with multiple internal strands that can be used for crucial survival tasks. Of course, you can use it as cordage - that's its primary role, and it does it well. But, it is made with ten internal strands that can be separated and used individually for a variety of tasks: making snares, tying off, fishing line, and even one strand made of jute that makes excellent tinder for a fire.

You should never leave home without paracord. Given its tensile strength, it has myriad uses. But you can get this paracord and let it provide you with a slew of valuable tools should you need it. Plus, it costs very little more. It's available in multiple colors based on your needs or preference - I selected one of the camo patterns. In my primary BoB, I carry 100' of standard paracord and an additional 100' of the multi-strand. It's better to be prepared!
