NOTE - I have NOT used this product for any of its survivor characteristics.

This product has tons of awesome reviews. I assume mostly because of the awesome inner characteristics of the product. However, hopefully I can provide the cautionary feedback that it's not really great paracord. I used some of this to make a continuous ridgeline for my rainfly/tarp for my hammock camping setup. Thought it would be really cool to have the extra "survival" strands right inside of my ridgeline, which is always accessible, should anything happen.

Well, first of all tying the cord tight between two trees, putting tension on the cord with a trucker's hitch, causes the cord to "bunch" funny and develop kinks in it. I can only assume this is because of the multiple different materials inside that each have different amounts of "give" to them.

Secondly, when you cut a length of the cord, and the burn down the end... after using the cord for a while, you will come back to notice that some of the elements have shifted, and are now sticking out past the end of your previously terminated/burnt end. For example, I have the copper wire sticking out past the end - which is VERY sharp.. and when I now bunch up with my rain fly inside of my stuff sack, I would pierce the fly with the wire if I was not careful. I've also cut myself of it as well.

Other folks have mentioned as well, but it's not nearly as flexible as "normal" paracord. I knew this going in - so it is what it is.

I think the product is cool. May be cool to make bracelets out of it and such. However, it's NOT a product that I would use in a working setting... only in a "what if" setting. And, for me, that eliminates it from my bag. I need products that can be used effectively everyday.
