I think if you have tech in your home, like laptops, desktop computers, servers, etc., then you NEED some kind of battery backup system. This unit has been a most welcomed addition to my studio. It gives me enough time if there is a power outage to properly turn off my electronics, AND it will protect them from potentially being damaged during surge outages.
I will say I waited a little too long when making this decision, as a couple parts in my home PC were damaged due to several power outages in rapid succession, but thankfully it didn't destroy more things.
Don't wait until it's too late, definitely grab yourself a battery backup from APC and protect your belongings!
