I've had this product for over a year - enough to have changed the filters a couple of times. I'm very impressed. Initially, the unit will spin it's fan up to a moderate-to-high level, and you will hear the fan, but as it cleans the air the fan speed drops until, at least to my ears, it goes silent. The unit is sensitive and will crank the fan up to remove whatever contaminant it detects (a drug from a nebulizer machine used 8-to-10 feet away) and shortly go silent again. It removes the new furniture smell. It leaves the air crisp and clean. It's filters (one paper and one charcoal) are easy to replace, relatively inexpensive, and are available from multiple sources.
I don't give a 5-star review lightly, but I have no negative comments about this unit. An easy 5 stars.
