Use this bag for day hikes, some short and very casual, some rather long. Well designed, comfortable and decently made with ample space for fluids, snacks, extra clothing, rain-gear, emergency items etc. The sewn in pockets in the well padded waist-belt are a plus. Great economical option for anyone who needs a daypack. I use it for day hikes where if it failed somehow, my survival wouldn't be at risk. It is NOT however, waterproof, nor is it an expedition level piece of gear. (So for most of us it'll work fine.) I think that both Amazon and the seller probably have a different definition of waterproof than the rest of us.
