When I first purchased these batteries (I have five in total) I fully intended them to be used for camping. I even stored them in the camper for a while. Then I got a HUGE bill from my electric company and I started using these every day to supplement my electrical usage.
I am saving (based on over 8 months of bills) over $250 each month by simply using the batteries to run the necessary things I need run during our ‘peak’ hours. My electric company has several hours each day where they list this as peak power and the price for electricity goes up. I can run my fans, lights, TV, computers and other stuff off these guys and viola; I am saving $250 each month.
For me, I purchased a top of the car carrier and store the panels on my flat roof (Arizona) year round. I can take them down and go camping when I want, but for the days I am not out in the woods, they stay on the roof. I put the panels up every sunny day and monitor them throughout the day. The batteries are charged up by the time peak power starts and I simply switch things over to the batteries.
I also enjoy having a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) for my CPAP at night; so many times the power goes out and I wake up, no more.
Then one day this battery, my biggest one, started not charging correctly. I contacted Jackery and they sent me a label, I took the battery to a FEDEX place, shipped it off and about a week later and I got a replacement. These guys were really supportive and it was super easy to change the dud out.
I am hoping to save up enough for a set (hopefully three) of a larger system they have; if I set it up correctly it should power my RV.
Love these batteries and the customer service is great!! Thanks guys!!
