Bournemouth forward Jaidon Anthony is having a medical with Burnley before a proposed loan move to the Championship club.

Anthony spent last season at Leeds United and helped them reach the Championship play-off final.

He had hoped to force his way into Andoni Iraola's side on his return to Bournemouth, where he has three years left on his contract.

However, the 24-year-old has been an unused substitute in both Premier League games so far and Burnley have stepped in.

  2. 'I loved what I saw'published at 15:10 26 August

    EvanilsonImage source, Getty Images

Andoni Iraola said he "loved" Evanilson's performance on his Bournemouth debut on Sunday.

The former Porto man started for the Cherries in their draw against Newcastle before being taken off in the second half.

"I loved his passion," said Iraola. "He has been fighting, he was distraught he couldn't play one more minute. He didn't have more.

"It will take time to adapt to the intensity of the league, the rhythm. But I loved what I saw.

"He helped us. He was very close to scoring a couple of times. I will not judge him just because of goals. He helped us to play better and that's the main goal for everyone who starts a game."

  3. Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle - the fans' verdictpublished at 12:00 26 August

We asked for your thoughts after Sunday's Premier League game between Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

Here are some of your comments:

    Bournemouth fans

Charl: A very good performance all round. Bournemouth deserved to win this match before the disallowed goal controversy, which was massively disappointing. Andoni Iraola needs to build the midfield around Scott and Cook - they are far too good to not play from the start or pull off during the match.

Mark: The Cherries played really well. It was an exciting game. Again, unfortunately, decisions go against us and deny the win that we deserved. VAR was meant to be helpful. We are looking at another season of wrong decisions and pitiful excuses.

Ben: That is two weeks running that we have been punished by two very marginal decisions! The Dango Ouattara goal should have stood and Joelinton should have been shown a red card. Overall, we look a threat going forward and, on the balance of play, we should have secured all three points.

Jack: Fantastic performance, shame about the result. I've not seen the disallowed goal back but it looked very harsh. Our new striker looks promising and he has a Diego Costa style of play. Semenyo was unplayable and he ran Kelly ragged. But, if it weren't for Neto in goal, we could have lost that game. Iraola's exciting brand of football has everyone purring.

    Newcastle fans

Paul: Bournemouth were the better side in the first half and, once again, Semenyo's pace caused us problems. He got the assist for their goal. We improved in the second half and Gordon got a good equaliser. We still needed VAR to deny them a win and give us the draw though. We are relieved for the point, but worried about our form, especially away from home.

Stephen: I would give Newcastle a four out of 10 for that performance. For the first 15 minutes they looked very good but, once Bournemouth woke up, Newcastle became ragged and gave the ball away too often. It was a well-worked Newcastle goal and Neto made a couple of good saves. We were lucky with the decision to not award Bournemouth's second goal. We escaped with a draw.

Ronnie: It looked like the whole team were on another planet. In the first half, we were abysmal. There were too many players missing. Things were better after the substitutes came on. Another bad day for Eddie Howe.

Bluey: We were outplayed during the game. There were little sparks here and there but nothing to really shout about. For me, it was like watching paint dry. Bournemouth were the better team, so we will take the point won't we! On to the next game.

  4. Evanilson, pressure and timepublished at 08:41 26 August

    EvanilsonImage source, Getty Images

Former WSL striker Natasha Dowie says Bournemouth "have to give Evanilson time" to find his feet and settle at the club.

"They are going to miss Dominic Solanke and his goals massively, but they have his replacement in now," Dowie said on BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily Podcast.

"It is hard as a striker because you always want to hit the ground running and there is a lot of pressure on you as you are the one who is expected to put the ball in the back of the net.

"It can take years to build partnerships, but they will want him to find his form and get that first goal as quickly as possible. And at Bournemouth it is difficult because you are probably only going to get one or two opportunities per game, so he will have to put those opportunities away and with that comes more pressure.

"But the club will give him time. They have to give him time."

  5. Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle - VAR controversy published at 17:48 25 August

Bournemouth fans will feel they should be celebrating their first three points of the season, but instead a controversial call by the video assistant referee dominated the post-match chat.

Dango Ouattara's late goal was ruled out, with VAR deciding that the ball struck his arm rather than his shoulder, a decision that incensed Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.

The Cherries boss animatedly contested the decision at the time and was no calmer in his post-match interviews.

For Iraola, it was the second poor decision by the technology in as many games, having had a goal ruled out in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in their Premier League opener.

But despite the frustration, there's positives for Bournemouth to take - their performance against Newcastle was very good and they had chances to win the game even before the late drama.

  6. Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle: What Iraola saidpublished at 17:23 25 August

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has been speaking to Sky Sports after VAR ruled out the Cherries' late goal: "It is very difficult to digest. It is obvious what happened. I think we should have won the game. I will complain now, nothing will happen.

"I am not against the referee, he gave the goal but he didn't have the chance to go to the monitor and watch it. If he did, I am sure he would give the goal. They will say it is a factual decision, but it is not a factual decision.

"The ball never touched his skin. We have very short sleeves so it has touched his shoulder. The referee could not do anything else, someone called him and said he had to disallow it.

"No-one will remember this in two weeks. I am very frustrated. They are telling us they will give more power to the referee. Now, I cannot do much more."

On Joelinton not being sent off for foul on goalkeeper Neto: "I don't even want to speak about this. I complain now about other things. I think why we didn't win is very clear. We didn't not win today because of this.

"I don't care if they show a red card or not, it won't change the game. What will change the game is the goal they disallowed from us."

  7. Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle: What Semenyo saidpublished at 17:11 25 August

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has been speaking to Sky Sports: "A lot happened. We have just got back in the changing room and everyone is pretty angry that the second goal didn't count. We have seen the replay and it has come off his shoulder, so I feel like the referee has made the wrong decision. But, we will take the point and continue building.

"I feel like we have been hard done by. It has hit his shoulder but we can't do anything about it now, so we have to look ahead to the next game."

"We showed our style. We like to press and make it uncomfortable for teams who come here. The plan worked well. That is my style, I like to make players uncomfortable. It is my style and I'm enjoying it."

On manager Andoni Iraola's style: "We know what he is like. He is a brave manager and we, as a team, collectively work together and make sure we are working together. We are going to continue being brave."

  8. Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle: What Tavernier saidpublished at 16:38 25 August

Bournemouth goalscorer Marcus Tavernier has been speaking after the draw: "We have to be careful with what we say but there is a decision that I thought was a goal. We have to stand by it and I think we can be pleased with the performance today.

"I feel like in the first half, we were definitely on top. When they got the goal, we responded well and created that chance to get the goal and three points, but it wasn't meant to be."

On scoring his goal: "I want to try and score as many goals as I can. Now Dominic [Solanke] has left, it is up to us to score more goals. That is what we're trying to do."

On new signing Evanilson: "I think he is technically very good and, when the ball is around the box, his finishing is very good. We are expecting good things from him."

On Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto: "He is the reason we come away with a point today. A big round of applause to him for keeping the ball out of the back of the net."

  11. Sutton's predictions: Bournemouth v Newcastlepublished at 11:34 25 August

Chris Sutton, Clara Amfo and Jordan Stephens

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches this season, against a variety of guests.

For week two, he takes on Make Me A Mixtape hosts Clara Amfo and Jordan Stephens.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The Eddie Howe derby. It will be interesting to see if Evanilson plays for Bournemouth given they have spent £40.2m on him.

Newcastle huffed and puffed and found a way last week at home against Southampton and Bournemouth drew at Forest, they probably will feel they should have won the game.

Based on last week, I would err towards Bournemouth but I am a big fan of Newcastle forward Alexander Isak and I think boss Eddie Howe will return to his old club and win it.

    Amfo's prediction: 1-2

    Stephens' prediction: 3-2

Newcastle are another reason we did not win the league last year. There were three refereeing errors for their winning goal at St James' Park. That's not the reason I'm going with Bournemouth to beat them, though.

Bournemouth are weighing up a loan move for exiled Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is training with the "loan group" under loan technical coach Carlo Cudicini.

The move is internally considered complicated at the south coast club as the Spain international's high wages - estimated to be about £200,000-per-week - present a problem in negotiations.

Chelsea would also expect Kepa, who remains the world's most expensive goalkeeper after joining the club for £72m in 2018, to extend his contract by at least a year and that extension would come with a wage reduction.

That extension would allow the Blues to potentially cash in on Kepa at a later date if he does well on loan, but would also require compromises from all parties on how to cover his wages to facilitate the move.

Kepa spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, who were interested in re-signing him, but only if Ukraine international Andriy Lunin opted to leave.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad also cooled interest in Kepa last month having held initial talks to sign him.

Chelsea are looking to offload up to 15 players before the transfer deadline next week, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Trevoh Chalobah and Romelu Lukaku available for sale.

Kepa is an option being considered alongside Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale as Bournemouth enter talks on multiple fronts to strengthen their options for manager Andoni Iraola.

  15. 'I expect that Evanilson starts well' - Iraolapublished at 15:58 23 August

New signing Evanilson of Bournemouth during his first training sessionImage source, Getty Images

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola says new signing Evanilson will "for sure" be involved in Saturday's visit of Newcastle for the first time since his club-record move from Porto.

Evanilson, 24, scored 60 goals in 154 appearances for Porto during his four years in Portugal and arrived last week in a deal worth £40.2m.

"Evanilson trained well and he will for sure be involved in the game," Iraola said in his pre-match news conference.

"I expect that he starts well if he has the chance to play.

"Hopefully he takes everything quickly that we are trying to tell him, it's difficult when they arrive - particularly with the language but he has trained well.

"We don't want to give him all the information, it's probably too much. But we want to give him the most important things that are specific to him and his position."

With star striker Dominic Solanke departing the club for Tottenham earlier this summer, Iraola will be hoping Evanlison hits the ground running and fills the the void left by last season's top scorer.

"I think he's obviously got a great profile, he's comfortable finishing but also help us in the link-up play," Iraola added. "Technically he is sharp, he will help the overall offensive game of the team, not only the finishing side."

  16. Iraola on Evanilson, returning Howe and 125-year anniversarypublished at 14:13 23 August

    Nat Hayward
    BBC Sport journalist

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has been speaking to the media before Sunday's Premier League game at home against Newcastle United (14:00 BST).

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

    • Iraola said he has "good injury news" and expects everyone apart from the three players who had surgery over the summer - Enes Unal, Tyler Adams and David Brooks - to be available.

    • He added that Daniel Jebbison, who has been linked with Watford, is still a Bournemouth player and expected to be involved in some capacity against Newcastle.

    • On new signing Evanilson, who was not involved in the opening draw with Nottingham Forest: "He has trained well this week, normally with the team. I think he will be for sure involved in the game. We expect him to start well. He gets everything."

    • On opponents Newcastle and their opening weekend win over Southampton: "It's not a lot of help for us because the first game they played was very conditioned by the red card. They are very good and experienced players. When you see Bruno [Guimaraes], Joelinton, [Alexander] Isak, [Anthony] Gordon - even if they are playing with one less they will always be a threat."

    • He said retuning Magpies defender Lloyd Kelly played "at a very high level" for Bournemouth: "He was very good for us,. Before I arrived and last season he was phenomenal. I wish him all the best. Obviously I don't want him to play well on Sunday but he is a very good defender and it will be tough for whoever he has in front of him."

    • On marking the club's 125-year anniversary against former manager Eddie Howe's side: "It's probably very fitting that Eddie comes with Newcastle. He is a big part of the history of the club. 125 years is a lot of years, a lot of history. It is special to be part of such a special moment."
