As a solo traveler, it was more space than I needed. But it was fully stocked. Plus, the hosts were incredible and I added the excellent breakfast onto my reservation. Le Mas Réolais, a property with a garden, is situated in Saint-Sève, 21 km from Graves et du Sauternais Golf Course, 25 km from Grotte Célestine, as well as 25 km from Marmande Golf Course. The warm welcome from the host, the most beautiful room, the comfort, the attention to detail and ambience were all exceptional. It was the most exquisite stay we have ever had in the French countryside.

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful and interesting place. Les Eyzies is steeped in pre-history - you can see 17,000 year old cave paintings right there in the village. Our house at Domain de Comtesse de Dordogne was beautifully furnished and fully-equipped to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. The houses are set among extensive grounds, with a river, a fishing lake and a waterfall – birdsong is everywhere. Each house has a well-furnished shaded patio, with barbeque facilities and we ate outside a lot. Although other houses were occupied while we were there, we hardly saw anybody, and we had the pool to ourselves. The owners, Jean Claude and Lizette, were very friendly and helpful, both before and during our visit. We didn’t have a car with us, so it was useful to have a supermarket and bakery just minutes’ walk away. The house we stayed in was light and airy with a huge modern living room giving beautiful views over the grounds. We thoroughly recommend this place.
