Suspected Emma Watson 'stalker' arrested in Oxford after showing up at the Harry Potter star's college and demanding to see her

A man who is suspected of stalking Harry Potter star Emma Watson has been arrested after he turned up at the university and demanded to see her.

Chad Michael Busto - who is American - said he 'visited the English department' and tried to 'gain information'.

The 44-year-old was arrested on June 26 after locals reported he had been asking questions about her.

Emma, 34, is studying at Oxford University for a masters in creative writing.

Speaking to The Sun, Busto said he wanted to 'connect' with the actress and wanted to talk to her about a 'big case' he claimed to have won in 2021 declaring the United States' justice system is illegal.

Busto said he flew from Boston to Heathrow on June 12 to visit 'government organisations'.

He arrived with £800 and a sleeping bag and had been sleeping in an Oxford church.

He claimed that officials wanted to deport him and he wanted to claim British citizenship.

'They are illegally detaining me. Police have my possessions. I'm on the run, there's a danger to my life,' he alleged to The Sun.

Police said an American man, 44, was held on suspicion of stalking and released under investigation.

Busto was also arrested in September for allegedly breaking into a New York fashion show dressing room and yelling about wanting to marry Emma.

He told The Sun his words were 'taken out of context' in this instance - he wanted to get her attention and said 'it kind of worked in the way I wanted'.

He pleaded not guilty to charges of trespass and disorderly conduct and was released without bail.

Emma isn't the only star he is accused of badgering. A month before the New York incident, Busto was held for trying to approach Charlie's Angels actress Drew Barrymore.

He showed up at her Hamptons home uninvited on August 23 and walked onto the estate before police took him into custody.

Fortunately, Barrymore, 48, was not home at the time. A source close to the E.T. actress told DailyMail.com she is in good spirits and does not want to change the way she lives her life after the scary incident.

'Drew feels good, feels safe, and even at the moment, it happened so fast she was OK and didn't stress about it. She has moved on from the incident as she knows that people were there to protect her,' the source said.

This was days after he scared her during a live interview on in New York.

She appeared shocked as he shouted her name from the audience, said 'you know who I am' before yelling: 'I need to see you at some point while you're in New York, OK?'
