Noah Lyles ran the fastest 200 meters in Olympic trials history on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon , and in doing so, kept his hopes for the sprint double at the upcoming Paris Games alive. Lyles added the 200, his signature race and the distance at which he is a three-time world champion, to the 100 he won last weekend .

They flirted with defeat at the hands of a fine Denmark team but they walked through the storm and came out the other side. This was a magnificent, nerve-jangling, brutal, roller-coaster of a night of football that could have swung either way and when it was over, Germany had their first knock-out win at a major tournament since 2016.

England's WAGs are so confident that Gareth Southgate's side will beat Slovakia that they have already booked for private jets for the quarter-finals. As reported by The Sun, some of the WAGs are flying to Germany from Manchester and have chartered a plane to take them to the team hotel in Blankenhain on Tuesday. The report states that Phil Foden could be set for a brief return to England folloiwng the Euro 2024 last-16 tie. 

US gymnastics star Kayla DiCello revealed her injury diagnosis of a ruptured Achilles on social media soon after she competed at the Paris Olympics Trials on Friday night. While completing an attempt on vault, DiCello landed on the mats after a double tuck. Immediately upon landing, she went to the ground. After a few seconds, she shook her head, knowing the discomfort was likely an injury that would sideline her for the Olympics.

The 22-year-old Spain-born winger thanked those who showed up for Ecuador's win against Jamaica in Las Vegas after footage of the mystery woman went viral on social media. However, it's unclear if the player is single despite his tease online, as he shared footage of himself with a woman he seemed to have dated on TikTok over the course of last summer. 

KIERAN GILL AT WIMBLEDON: Emma Raducanu on Saturday tempered expectations in response to Tim Henman's prediction that she can reach the second week of Wimbledon, insisting she is a 'complete underdog' to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round on Centre Court tomorrow. The 21-year-old Brit is playing at the All England Club for the first time since 2022, having missed last year's edition as she recovered from injury. Yet while playing down her chances of a long run over the course of this fortnight, Raducanu did say she is in the mood for a 'scalp' as she takes on Alexandrova, the 22nd seed from Russia.

Switzerland's Ruben Vargas scored an excellent goal just 27 seconds into the second half as he made it 2-0 against Italy. Italy kicked off at the start of the second period but they eventually lost possession, with Switzerland proceeding to work the ball to Vargas, who found the net with a composed finish from just inside the penalty area.  Switzerland had taken the lead in the 37th minute through Remo Freuler and went on to win the game to progress to the quarter-finals.

A viral clip of YouTube sensation IShowSpeed being refused a test drive for a $75,000 car in Germany has sparked a race row on social media. IShowSpeed, real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr, shared a video to his 10.5 million subscribers on YouTube documenting his recent trip to the Nürburgring Driving Academy - a motorsports complex in Nürburg. At one stage of the video, the 19-year-old stumbles across a roofless sports car which is up for sale at the complex and begins playing around with the steering wheel.

New York Mets star Jose Iglesias tore up the script with a different kind of double play after their win over the Houston Astros on Friday night. It is a long-running tradition for musicians to appear at Mets games and perform songs in front of the Citi Field crowd, with Timmy Trumpet and the Baha Men rather infamously doing so in previous years. However, this custom took a unique turn following a 7-2 victory against the Astros - when Iglesias went from baseball pro to pop hero by serenading the 32,465 fans still in the arena with his new song 'OMG'.

A boxing match descended into chaos when one of the fighters sucker punched the referee, who responded with a shot of his own.  Angel Cruz squared off against Julio De Jesus in promotion Shaun Boxing's latest fight night in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Friday night.  Cruz landed a superb right hand to drop his opponent to the canvas and instantly wheeled away in celebration. 

Logan Paul set social media ablaze on Friday evening with a 'Hawk Tuah' taunt during his latest match with the WWE. Paul, wrestling live from Madison Square Garden on 'SmackDown', tried to pin one of his two opponents, Santos Escobar. After getting a two-count and not the decisive three-count he was looking for, Paul decided to pump himself up by saying 'Hawk Tuah' in Escobar's direction.

Drag-racing legend John Force has been moved to a new intensive care unit after his car burst into flames at the end of a race in Virginia last weekend. Following a 300mph crash in the Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday, Force was rushed to hospital after his vehicle caught ablaze and he crashed into a wall in terrifying scenes. The 75-year-old clocked in a 306.62mph win over Terry Haddock in the right lane at before the engine of his PEAK Chevy Camaro exploded during the high-speed run.

No Octagon? No problem for Paige VanZant. Appearing for Dana White's other company, Power Slap, the controversial combat-sports promotion that gifts opponents unimpeded strikes to each other's faces, VanZant eased her way to a debut victory. VanZant shook off four unprotected slaps to her face from Christine Wolmarans, with the former UFC fighter's opponent getting an extra slap to try and even the score with her OnlyFans adversary.

Alongside a single picture of his son, a delighted father wrote: 'Really proud of you. Keep it going!' Ex-Chelsea captain John Terry responded with a short comment that read: 'Congratulations mate'. Meanwhile, current Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice replied with a heart emoji. There were also messages of congratulations from ex-Brighton striker Bobby Zamora and former Derby defender Curtis Davies.
