A man has been filmed beating someone with a scooter in a horrifying attack in north London

Footage of the incident in Hawley Wharf, Camden, on Wednesday showed the thug hitting a second man with the scooter's metal frame, repeatedly landing heavy blows to his body and head.

Police later arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. 

The second man has blood gushing out of the back of his head as he hits back and tries to defend himself.

The brawl continues for one minute while other people attempt to intervene and put a stop to the attack.

The man with the scooter eventually gives up as members of the public rush to the aid of the second individual.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'We are aware that footage of this incident is circulating on social media.

'Police were called at 8.53pm on Wednesday, August 14 to reports of an assault on Hawley Wharf, Camden.

'Officers and paramedics from LAS attended and found a man in his 30s had been struck multiple times to the body and head with a scooter.

'The man was taken to hospital for treatment, his injuries were not life-threatening.

'A man aged in his 20s was arrested for suspicion of grievous bodily harm [GBH].
