Kelsea Ballerini shares images from her first day on set at The Voice... after she was brought on in a surprise move alongside returning Adam Levine

Kelsea Ballerini is showing off some snaps from her first day on the set of NBC's The Voice on Wednesday.

NBC announced in early June that the 30-year-old country star will be making her debut on The Voice as a judge for Season 27, alongside Adam Levine, returning for the first time in six years.

They will be joined by returning judges Michael Buble and John Legend when the show returns in Spring 2025.

Shortly after the NBC announcement, Daily Mail exclusively reported that the 45-year-old Maroon 5 singer was warned that he could be dropped if he exhibited the same kind of 'cocky' and 'arrogant' behavior he showed during the end of his original 16-season run.

Ballerini didn't address that report, though she did take to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes snaps from her first day at work.

The singer said in the caption, 'plot twist…it works out,' along with a white heart emoji.

The first pic she shared was a selfie showing her in a grey sweatshirt and pink leggings.

The second showed her parking spot sign signifying it was for 'The Voice Talent' as she donned black sunglasses and a grey tank top.

The third pic was where she got the caption from - sidewalk graffiti of a duck or a goose of some sort with the message, 'Plot twist... it works out.'

The fourth slide was a video of the singer trying to sing a version of Judy Garland's Get Happy from the 1950 film Summer Stock... though she couldn't recall the lyrics.

The fifth slide was another selfie from her new judge's seat on The Voice set and the sixth was a mirror selfie while she used a teeth whitening device.

The seventh showed her on a private plane getting makeup applied and sticking her tongue out.

The eighth slide showcased a bouquet of flowers that her fellow judge Michael Buble sent along, with an anecdote from The Office where he asks her to 'form an alliance.'

As for Levine, news of his return sparked tensions behind-the-scenes, with employees concerned he will come back with the same 'entitled' attitude he exhibited before.

'Not everyone is happy with Adam coming back to the show,' a source exclusively told DailyMail.com.

'There have been many changes behind-the-scenes, but there are a lot of people still there from Adam's time before and don't like that he will be returning, because towards the end of his last run, he was cocky, arrogant and seemed entitled.

'People get second chances, and maybe Adam will change. But if he remains the abrasive Adam from the past, then they will get rid of him again.'

The source explained that producers were also keen to bring Levine back into the fold in the hopes that they could potentially reunite him with Shelton in the future.

'The Voice would love to get Blake Shelton back someday,' the insider dished. 'The dynamic that Adam and Blake had was TV gold, and the show would love to have that back again in the future.'

They continued: 'Having Adam back shows Blake that if he ever wanted to return, they would do it to his liking and pair him with Adam again.'

Producers are hoping Levine's return will deliver a welcome boost of nostalgia following recent changes to the coaching line-up.
