Four In A Bed stars blasts 'nightmare' experience on show - raging that they 'wanted to halt filming' after Channel 4 bosses 'stirred up conflict behind the scenes'

Two Four In A Bed stars have recalled their 'nightmare' experience of when they appeared on the Channel 4 show in 2022.

Nigel Dixon and Damian Bailey have slammed bosses of 'stirring up conflict behind the scenes'.

The Channel 4 reality programme follows four bed and breakfast owners competing to prove their establishments are good value for money by visiting each other's enterprises and deciding the amount they think their stay is worth.

The married duo, owners of Newholme Hotel in Blackpool, claimed that the foul-play was so bad that they wanted to 'halt filming'.

The couple competed on the contest alongside three other pairings Nyoami and Joe, Liz and Tracey, and Meg and Yvonne.

Filming at the time took place over the course of a year due to the pandemic and were thrilled to invite the other couples to visit their 'high-end budget hotel' with 'luxury touches'.

But the couple have now disclosed that they were unimpressed with their experience on the show.

On their hotel website, the couple delved deep into their journey and expressed that the Channel 4 director had 'deliberately' made drama behind the scenes, which resulted in a distressing filming ordeal.

They wrote: 'As the day unfolded and we continued filming with the director, however, tensions began to escalate.

'His actions seemed deliberately aimed at stirring up conflict between us. To make matters worse, the lunch provided was an utter disappointment.

'Cold, burnt, and barely edible, it was food I wouldn't even have served to my dog.'

The added: 'At that point, we had reached our breaking point. We both voiced our frustrations, threatening to bring the filming to an abrupt halt before the evening drinks.

'Liz and Tracey joined our protest, echoing our desire to put an end to this unpleasant ordeal.'

Nigel and Damian added that they saw a quick change in the tension and enjoyed a positive experience towards the end of filming.

It comes as A Four In A Bed couple were left red-faced when a guest called out their 'stained and torn bedsheets'.

Last week, a re-run of the series from 2011 saw couple Gill and Peter scrutinise feedback forms from their fellow contestants, but they were left less than impressed when one pair scored them a paltry 5 points for cleanliness.

Branding the remark 'extremely low', disgruntled B&B owner Peter confronted guest Melvyn's critique of his accommodation's bedding, in which of he complained of creased sheets that had a small hole and an unpleasant stain.

Justifying his review, Melvin told Peter: 'I think your staff should have gone through it, much more thoroughly.'

Accepting his response, Peter admitted his 'mistake', stating: 'That is our mistake and we totally take that on the chin', with Melvyn then likening his establishment to Motorway lodgings that lacked the 'wow factor'.
