This Morning sparked outrage among viewers with a 'patronising' and 'useless' money-saving segment, as ITV fans claimed they were being 'lectured by millionaires'.

On Monday's show, hosts Rylan Clark, 35, and Josie Gibson, 39, were joined by consumer editor Alice Beer, 59, who shared her advice on how to save £1,500 in a year.

Her suggestions, which left viewers unimpressed, included tips like shopping at cheaper supermarkets and saving pennies in a jar.

She advised those struggling with money to do the 'Penny A Day' project, which involves putting aside 1p more every day, beginning with just a penny. The expert said it should see you save more than £600 a year.

The consumer editor also suggested cutting out takeaway coffees and sharing memberships and streaming services with friends and family members.

'Such old hat from this money segment #ThisMorning.'

'I am finding this segment very patronising and I don’t know why #thismorning.'

'Put a penny in a jar. Savings tips by Charles Dickens #ThisMorning.'

The outrage comes just after host Josie reportedly landed herself a three-part travel series The First Class Travel Show on Channel 5.

Fans will soon be able to get their Josie fix as she will examine the 'booming luxury travel sector', according to The Sun.

The programme will delve deep into first class airlines, five star plus hotels and premium airline seats.

Production companies Honey Bee and Group M Motion Entertainment will be taking on the Channel 5 show.

Earlier this month, fans demanded a permanent presenter switch up on the show, insisting that Josie and Craig Doyle have the most chemistry of all the stars and should permanently front the show together.

The enthusiastic fan response came after a hilarious segment on last week's show, where the duo kicked off the programme in a different way than usual.

When switching on the ITV breakfast programme today, viewers were met with Josie and Craig decked out in 80s themed outfits, chaotically dancing along to tunes from the decade.

Energy was high in the studio and the pair couldn't contain their laughter as they erupted into fits of giggles during the fun segment.
