Dance star Louie Spence 'QUITS Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after just 24 hours over gruelling conditions - leaving the show in chaos'

Dance star Louie Spence has reportedly quit filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after just 24 hours.

The choreographer, 55, is said to have been shocked at how the gruelling the process was and walked away, reports The Sun.

Louie was reportedly 'unable to keep up with the regime physically and mentally' - as he took on the challenge alongside the likes of reality stars Pete Wicks and Chloe Burrows.

A source told the publication: 'He seemed thrilled to be surrounded by all the hunky instructors, who all came from military backgrounds that required them to have an elite level of fitness.

'But he was less enamoured with the regime they had to maintain, with Louie unable to keep up with them physically and mentally.

'Despite this he left without any bad feeling and was grateful for the opportunity — even though his experience was a brief one.'

Louie is English dancer, choreographer and television presenter, best known for the TV show Pineapple Dance Studios.

He was a professional dancer in his youth, performing in West End musicals including Miss Saigon, Cats, and Closer to Heaven.

Representatives for Louie and Channel 4 have been contacted for comment.

The show sees a group of ex-army officials put a group of lay recruits through the Special Air Services screening process to test their mental, emotional and physical strength.

It comes after BBC and Channel 4 bosses are reportedly in a 'furious' row over Pete Wicks as Strictly Come Dancing and SAS: Who Dares Wins are set to clash in TV schedules later this year.

The TOWIE star, 36, filmed for the challenge show in July 2023 in New Zealand, marking his second shot at the grueling SAS selection process after he broke his ribs and was forced to quit the show.

However, Channel 4's production schedule means the series will not air until September, on the very same weekend that Pete begins his Strictly stint.

It is now the second time the television channel has been upstaged as in 2022, MP Matt Hancock appeared on ITV's I'm A Celebrity before his endurance adventure was broadcast the following year.

The latest clash involving Pete has reportedly left Channel 4 executives fuming as their promotion plans for the upcoming SAS: Who Dares Wins are now in tatters.

A TV source said: 'Channel 4 were fuming when Pete was revealed as part of this year's Strictly cast.'

'It's the second time they've been screwed over by another reality show.'

'After Pete was knocked unconscious and broke his ribs in 2022's series, his return to try and pass selection was a big deal and the first time [ex-Special Forces lead instructor] Billy Billingham and the directing staff have allowed a celeb to try out twice.'

The source also added that bosses wanted Pete's storyline to be one of the main storylines on the show, however, Strictly has beaten them to the punch.

MailOnline contacted Channel 4's representative for comment.

Pete's place in the Strictly lineup was confirmed earlier last week and he will be the first ever TOWIE star to take part in the BBC talent show.

In March it was reported that Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is set for a major shake-up, due to Channel 4's money problems.

The extreme TV series has previously filmed in Vietnam, New Zealand and Jordan however this year things will look very different for celebrities as they head to Wales.

The UK destination will be a far cheaper alternative for the channel instead of flying dozens of contestants and crew to the tropical destinations.

Channel 4 axed the civilian version of the series over the celebrity spin-off due to it gaining higher ratings.

Channel 4 told MailOnline: 'SAS Selection is the toughest selection procedure of any Special Forces Regiment in the world, with the first phase always taking place in Wales – the home of SAS training.

'The location of each series is chosen to reflect each phase of the real SAS selection and with storm swept Atlantic beaches to unforgiving mountain peaks, the Welsh wilderness, where series one was filmed, would push any celebrity recruit to their limits.'
