Traffic impacts
- Aug. 8-30: Hwy 23 down to one lane from 171st St (near Holland) to Hwy 14 (near Florence).
- A flagging operation and pilot car will direct traffic through the work zone.
- Allow extra travel time, use caution, expect delays.
- Florence culvert detour: June 3-Aug. 23 - traffic detoured to Hwy 14 and Hwy 91
- Pipestone bridge detour: Aug. 26-Nov. 1 - traffic detoured to Hwy 75, CR 8 and Hwy 23
Project update
Aug. 30, 2024
- Culvert replacement in Florence is complete.
- Backfilling of new culverts continues.
- Paving between Florence and Pipestone began Aug. 12; road will be one lane, alternating traffic. Allow extra travel time.
- Russell to Florence detour is anticipated to be removed Sep. 6 following installation of new guardrails; this timeline is weather dependent.
