What happened yesterday?

  • Badminton: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, seeded no 3 for the Paris Olympic Games were drawn into group C. They will be joined in the group by Indonesia's Fajar Alfian and Mohammad Ardianto (world no.6), Germany's Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel (world no 31) plus France's Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar (world no. 43).

  • Chess: World Championship challenger D Gukesh's struggles in speed chess continued with another lowest total among all participants in the final day of blitz chess in Croatia. He finished seventh overall in the tournament.
