Middle order Batter

A middle-order batter, Chirag Gandhi made his List-A debut for Gujarat in 2010-11 but had to wait for two more seasons for regular opportunities. His first-class debut came against Mumbai in 2012-13 where he scored 64.

Gandhi was part of the Gujarat side that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2012-13 and 2014-15, and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2015-16. When the team lifted their maiden Ranji Trophy title in 2016-17, he hit the winning boundary. In the Irani Cup match that followed, he notched up 169 and 70 against Rest of India but it was not enough to prevent a defeat.

In the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy semi-final against Saurashtra, Gandhi scored a fighting 96 in a fourth-innings chase of 327, but Gujarat fell short by 92 runs. That was his last first-class game, although he kept playing white-ball cricket till 2023-24.

Gandhi retired from Indian cricket in June 2024. At that time, he was Gujarat's most-capped player, and the second-highest run-getter, in T20s.
