Eurojust and Switzerland signed a Cooperation Agreement in November 2008, with the first Liaison Prosecutor taking up her duties in March 2015. The current Liaison Prosecutor for Switzerland is Sébastien Fetter.

In 2023, the Swiss Liaison Prosecutor was involved in 224 new cases, 45 coordination meetings, 2 coordination centres, and 23 joint investigation teams.

Liaison Prosecutor

Mr Philip Schotland took up his duties as the new Liaison Prosecutor for Switzerland at Eurojust on 2 September 2024. He has been appointed to serve as the main representative of the Swiss judiciary at the Agency until May 2026.

Prior to being appointed Liaison Prosecutor, Mr Schotland served as the Deputy Liaison Prosecutor of the Swiss Desk from 2022. Before coming to The Hague, he worked as a public prosecutor in the canton of Basel-City and as an assistant as of 2015. In this capacity, he specialised in serious crimes and investigations into organised crime groups, drawing on his experience in cross-border judicial cooperation.

Mr Schotland graduated as a Master of Law from Basel University in 2012 and did his bar exam in 2014.

The new Liaison Prosecutor speaks German, French and English. He is also attached to the office of the Swiss Armed Forces Attorney General, in the rank of major.
