Greg Byrne joined the Fiesta Bowl Board of Directors in April 2024.
Byrne served as an intern at the Fiesta Bowl following graduation from Arizona State that kickstarted an accomplished career in intercollegiate athletics. Named athletic director at Alabama in 2017, Bryne served as vice president for athletics at University of Arizona from 2010-17 and Mississippi State’s athletics director from 2008-10. His national stature has included roles as president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and holding positions on the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee, National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches Coalition Academy and United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Collegiate Advisory Council. Son of Bill Byrne, a 30-year athletic director, Greg Byrne has a bachelor's degree from Arizona State and a master’s degree from Mississippi State.
