Harry Garewal has been an active and accomplished leader in Arizona’s Hispanic and education communities. Over a distinguished career, he was President and CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Minority Business Enterprise Center, President of the Arizona School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association Pacific Region, President of the Caucus of Hispanic School Board and on the executive committee of the National School Boards Association.
He also co-founded the National Tri-Caucus Board Development Association, a nonprofit that established public policy for Hispanic, African-American and Native American public school children and served on three White House initiatives related to Hispanic student issues. He is a certified tribal-state vendor by the Arizona Department of Gaming and holds licenses for two tribal enterprises. While with the City of Phoenix from 1994-2002, Garewal helped drive economic development in the city.
