Hope Sharett joined as the Chief Legal & Strategy Officer in January 2024, where she provides practical legal advice and innovative solutions in the areas of contracts, commercial ventures, strategic operations, regulatory compliance and business partnerships.
Sharett has 20 years of experience working in the private, public and nonprofit sectors minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities in order to strengthen organizations and communities. Most recently, she served as general counsel and corporate secretary for ASU Enterprise Partners, which operates in service to Arizona State University advancing philanthropy, real estate, technology transfer, venture investment and applied research.
Prior to relocating to Phoenix, she led the corporate philanthropy program of a prestigious privately held management and investment company in Columbus, Ohio. Sharett began her career at the law firm of Bricker & Eckler LLP as bond counsel, advising clients in the public and nonprofit sectors on matters of infrastructure finance and governance. Sharett was executive director of the statewide nonprofit Law and Leadership Institute in partnership with Ohio’s nine law schools and six metropolitan areas and director of outside counsel for the Ohio Attorney General with oversight of legal matters for the state’s public colleges, universities, boards, commissions and agencies.
Committed to community engagement, Sharett currently volunteers on the boards of the Friends of Public Radio Arizona, the National Council of The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, Hope Center and Randolph United Community Land Trust.
Sharett received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Vanderbilt University where she was awarded All-American Honors as a member of the track & field team. She received her Juris Doctor from Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law where she was a member of the Ohio State Law Journal and honored as an Outstanding Recent Alumnus. While studying law, Sharett also earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs.
In her spare time, Sharett enjoys golf, fitness, volunteering and traveling with her family.
