Sandra Avila was promoted to Director of Community Relations in 2023 after initially joining the Fiesta Bowl in 2021 as the Community Relations Coordinator. Prior to her promotion to her current role, she served as Manager, Community Relations - Educational Initiatives. In her role, she manages the Wishes for Teachers grant program and oversees several Fiesta Bowl Charities’ events including playground builds, resource room and more.
Avila came to the Fiesta Bowl from World at Work, where she served as the Strategic Assistant to the CEO. She has also worked as a Strategic Liaison to the CEO and Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Before transitioning to the nonprofit world, Avila worked in various roles within the Mexican Government. She is passionate about education and is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion.
When she’s off the clock, she volunteers at the animal rescue and spends time with her dogs. She enjoys hiking, running and traveling.
