Executive Producer

FOX6 is on the hunt for a visionary with a passion for journalism to oversee our nightly newscasts. Responsibilities

This isn’t just any role.  You’re the maestro, the one at the heart of our FOX6 nightside team, boosting the morale and direction of our newsroom. This position oversees the creation of show rundowns, participates in story selection and oversees content.  Do you know a great newscast with graphics and pacing when you see one?  If so, you are who we are looking for. 

You will become a member of the FOX6 news management team and will develop and implement strategic goals in concert. The executive producer also ensures reporters and photojournalists in the field meet newsroom standards for fairness, accuracy, ethics and presentation.  The EP is a key player in managing staff accountability. 

Milwaukee’s got stories to tell, and we’re at the forefront.  We are the news and digital leader in the Milwaukee market and are looking for the best and brightest to help continue that tradition!

Qualifications

Four years of newscast producing is required. Prior newsroom management experience and a college degree in journalism or related field is a necessity! Must have knowledge and proficiency in newsroom systems. Must have experience and strong skillset in social media. Strong oral and written communication skills a must. Must be knowledgeable of legal and ethical parameters for mass media.

Nightside anchor

FOX6 News is seeking a Nightside Anchor to join our team! The ideal candidate will take command on the desk and engage viewers with their smooth delivery and sparkling personality! Anchoring is only one portion of the job.  You must be willing to pitch stories and content for all mediums including podcasts and digital. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic and comfortable on the news desk, while aggressive and hungry to get the latest news content on the air and online at all times!  You need to develop sources and have a passion for breaking news.  You must be an engaging communicator who can connect with viewers.  Great writing and storytelling skills along with the desire to be excellent in everything you do is a must!  You will collaborate with the Assignment Desk, Producers, Photojournalists and Editors to create newscasts that are compelling and unique.  Accuracy and urgency are a must.  And social media skills are expected to attract, inform and engage the community. This is more than just broadcast news, you must be forward-thinking, ready to embrace and lead FOX6 into the future of local news.    

Qualifications

You’ll need to have a minimum of three years main anchor experience.  The world of TV News is changing, so you must be well-versed in all aspects of journalism, from online to working sources through social networking. Reporter

Responsibilities

Developing sources and breaking stories is what it’s all about, you MUST be able to demonstrate how you aggressively pursue relevant stories and develop exclusive content.  You must be great at incorporating digital/social media content with all your stories too.  The successful candidate must have strong LIVE reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex stories that our viewers can understand and use to better their lives!! You have to be a people person who can work in a TEAM environment!

Qualifications

Photojournalist

Responsibilities

Not an office job!  As a FOX6 Photojournalist, your days will be anything but monotonous.  You’ll be in the field, teaming up with a reporter to chase breaking news and turning stories on a tight deadline.  You’ll be tasked with covering a local or professional sporting event or even going on your own to capture compelling weather video. You’ll flex your storytelling muscles with longform pieces that you are passionate about.  We will provide the equipment so you can capture the best sequences, natural sounds and moments to produce compelling stories that our viewers remember.     

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred
  • At least two years of Television News shooting experience, as well as technical knowledge of non-linear editing software, preferably Edius, and photo equipment
  • Must be physically able to lift, carry and handle 30 to 50 pounds of camera gear, and deal with the realities of a Wisconsin winter or summer
  • Position requires driving
  • Drone license preferred

Multimedia Content Producer

FOX6 has an opportunity available for a confident, charismatic, creative and tech-savvy person to join the Creative Services team as a Multi-Media Content Producer.  You will be responsible for the conception, production and execution of fresh and compelling content across multiple platforms.  Your work will play a key role in enhancing our brand presence and engaging our audience.   

What you'll do

  • You will be an innovative brand ambassador bringing unique ideas to the table
  • You’ll work closely with fellow team members and our station Stream Team to create compelling and innovative content and media campaigns that drive viewers to our OTT and broadcast channels
  • You will promote station strategies online, on-air and within the community
  • You will ensure brand consistency across all FOX6 platforms
  • You will create content that resonates with digital, on-air and social media audiences
  • You will work with various departments to collect and create content

What you'll have

  • You must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be adept at brainstorming subject matters and choosing topics for videos, writing scripts and titles
  • You must be fluent in current and emerging social media platforms
  • You must have experience creating content for multiple platforms: linear, digital and social
  • You must be able to direct, shoot, edit and distribute content.  Designing and implementing motion graphics into your video is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Photoshop is needed
  • You must be able to capture HD video with DSLR, Sony, Canon, GoPro and iPhone cameras.
  • You must be able to handle average weight objects up to 50 pounds and be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Experience with audio and lighting equipment preferred
  • Solution oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task projects and meet several daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of journalistic ethics and legal liability
  • Plan, coordinate and attend off hours (including some weekends) station events from both a community outreach and content production standpoint.
  • Valid driver’s license required

Editor

FOX6 Milwaukee is looking for a Video Editor who is passionate about making visual stories come to life. FOX6 produces more local news than anyone in the market and we need a creative editor to showcase the stories that need to be told. Responsibilities

You will be tasked with editing daily news and sports stories for live broadcast, our station website and all current and future media platforms. You will brainstorm with producers, reporters and photographers to make the news pop on screen. We have high journalistic standards of fairness and you must maintain that standard in every story you edit.

Qualifications

Qualified candidate must have experience using standard broadcast non-linear editing, preferably Edius. 1 year of editing experience preferred, but not required. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ability to edit with speed, efficiency and creatively while producing high quality content is required. You must be able to demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills. You will work with producers to visually enhance information in the newscast. You must have a proven track record of dependability and the ability to work a variety of schedules to meet company needs. Two or four year college degree preferred.
