Fouga CM-170 Magister / CM-170-II Super Magister

The worlds first jet training aircraft designed specifically for primary student training, the Fouga CM-170-II Magister is characterized by a high aspect ratio wing, a butterfly V-tail, and small twin turbojet power.

The aircraft is a refined development of the original Fouga CM-170 Magister, The C.M. 170-II "Super Magister" incorporates updated Turbomeca Marbore VI engines of 1150 pounds static thrust each. The Fouga series was developed for the French Air force and was the world's first jet trainer aircraft to be produced in series. Derived from a series of all-wood sailplanes, the first prototype of the light attack and training aircraft took aloft at Mont-de-Marsan France on the 23rd of July, 1952.
