Shauna L. Hoey is a veteran educator who has developed curricula, workshops, and led support groups over the past twenty-five years. After her devastating experience in the Waldo Canyon fire, Shauna created trauma recovery tools, founded ThriveWithHope.com, a web-based community, and wrote Fire of Hope to help others find their way back to wholeness, too.

Shauna is married to her best friend, Rex. Their blended family of six amazing children and three grandchildren fill them with love beyond measure. They live in Manitou Springs, Colorado with their two youngest children and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Shauna L. Hoey

“The ashes wail a gut-wrenching cry. They sing out of anguish, for not just the loss of a home. But for all the losses from my life—each singing their own notes.”
Shauna L Hoey

“To feel understood is the one pain medicine that soothes the deepest wounds. Sitting eye to eye, heart to heart, with someone who gets your pain is worth one thousand hours of therapy. We need at least one person to understand us.”
