Jo Riccioni graduated from Leeds University with a Masters in Medieval Literature. She has lived and worked around the world but finally settled in Australia where she conjures up fantasy worlds from a shed in her garden on Garigal land in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Jo’s series, The Branded Season, was inspired by a long-standing desire from uni days to see women and women’s issues at the heart of the epic fantasy canon. Jo's award-winning short fiction has been anthologised in Best Australian Stories 2010 and 2011, and her story, Can't Take the Country out of the Boy has been optioned for a short film.
