Another Holiday novella, another win and another unhealthy obsession with a fictional man diagnosed. yay.

But I didn't very much liked there relationship? Idk it was just okay I mean I didn't feel things, didn't felt that passion, the burn for each other enough to care abt them.
I love Lee Jacquot's novellas so much and this was another small hit from her.

Theo is a twenty five year old lifeguard at the community pool and her daughter's swim instructor, and she has been pining over him for a few years. What she doesn't know is that he has also been pining over her and has different plans for her, and he's the one that set it all up.

Oh my fucking gosh-
Have you ever witness an author getting better in everything each time new book releases? And have you ever feel the tremendous satisfaction and proud and bliss for witnessing it? This is what I'm feeling right now. I am so proud with Lee Jacquot and how much she has achieved by this book and how it was 180 degrees different in a good way than the last book.
Writing! The writing is fucking impeccable. I'm going to give a round of applause to her for really rectifying and really give more effort in writing. Ngl, I feel like she read my reviews and really listen to my thoughts on my previous reviews and ngl it made me feel so special. Although I know this might not be the case but one can dream, right? The writing is really growing. There were no talking in gibberish, there were no awkward transition between one topic to another, there were no talking non sense. This was a fucking bliss too read and I'm sure I do not need to review the sex scenes as Lee Jacquot is the fucking master of it.
The characters were fantastic. Oh how much I love Olivia, Lyn, and Theo. The synergy and chemistry they 3 have to each other was just fucking awesome. I really love that Lee Jacquot also put a lot more effort in character development especially in Olivia. It really makes me feel so much when I read about her insecurities towards Theo and it really speaks to me. I feel so connected to her and it was surprising because I have always talked that Lee's character development wasn't the best and I have never feel like this to her character that she wrote before. So another round of applause for Lee.
The plot was fucking simple and yet endearing. It's not boring although it was something I have read before, it's so simple but still hooking my attention to the story.
Listen, this is my first 5 stars for Lee and she has earned it. So 5 stars for this!! Ugh I love this so much!! I love it and it's going straight to my favorite shelf! 😩🤌🏻

No matter if you're a bio-mom, adopted mom, sister, primary care giver or, like me, you're a dog-mom -if you identify as woman- today is your day! Women are always pushed into caregiver rolls, even when we might not want them. So for everyone, willing or not, happy day to you.
This book was fun, fast, dirty and not at all perfect... but then again who is? Did I like that the younger mmc called the fmc 'mama' while doing spicy gymnastics? Nope. It was cringe and awkward. Just as when a younger fmc calls the older mmc 'daddy'. It's just yuck to me. Am I aware that it is absolutely someone's k!nk? For sure. It's just not mine. The rest of this was fantastic actually. I'm kind of jelly - I want to go to a b&b for a mani-pedi and a massage w/ happy ending!
So yeah, this was a great time.
100% recommend if you're looking for a novella today!

This one was a pretty fast pace novella and some tropes I'm not to hyped about I'm not into reverse age gap or single parents. But it was okay.
Olivia married an older guy and well it didn't turn out well he was a workaholic and hardly in there childs life so she went on to raise her daughter and not date but she did have a crush on Theo the hottie lifeguard at the pool she went to. They had this attraction but in her mind what young 25 year old would want with a mom. As for Theo he's always wanted Olivia but timing wasn't on there side she's freshly divorced and he did his time waiting but he wasn't celibate...which made no sense why he dated other woman if he loved her at first glance?!?
These two had a getaway weekend he planned to get her alone and finally make them a couple. Massage and some porn Recommend was hot 🔥.

I'm always excited when a new Holinights book releases. While Mother's Day Inn was more of a miss for me, I still enjoyed the single mom aspect of the story and the cute relationship between Theo (H) and Lyn (h's daughter). Olivia (h) was very relatable with her focus on being a parent and her concerns about dating, specifically a younger man (h is 8 years older), given the negativity her ex had filled her head with. Olivia knew Theo peripherally for years as he was a lifeguard at the pool and taught Lyn to swim. There was attraction there, but Olivia felt she imagined it and Theo was waiting for the right time to pursue her, which comes about on a Mother's Day where Olivia is treating herself to pampering for the night. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama and neither were virgins (some details given about each of their histories; H was not celibate since meeting h, but had no serious relationships either).
I really liked the momming moments here and the supportive female friendships that are briefly shown. Both Olivia and Theo were likable and their romance was sweet. He calls her "mama" as a pet name and I loved it. There was also one peek a year prior into an interaction they had that I liked. One element that I didn't connect with on this read was Theo's obsession with Olivia. We're told he's obsessed and when the line is crossed and he actively pursues her, he gives her his sole focus. But it's that time when he was waiting for the right moment to pursue the relationship that happened before this story picks up that left me questioning whether obsessed was the right descriptor.
Also, Olivia flipping from worried about taking a step with Theo to her reactions with their first couple steamier interactions felt off. Specifically the first time Theo puts his hands on her, she doesn't even blink. Yes she was decided on them exploring the chemistry, but given the situation (without spoiling), I was surprised at her immediate acceptance. Like the others in the series, this has a big dose of steam, plus Theo comes "equipped" with some bling (which honestly I was caught up on the details described trying to picture it until it was described better later). Even though Olivia and Theo had known each other for years, neither delved too deeply into details with the other, but it is acknowledged that they're just starting out, even if they were both committed quickly once feelings were admitted.
The epilogue is 3 years later with them married and adds some extra steaminess and a moment of family sweetness. There was something about the epilogue that bugged me slightly but still a cute ending with their HEA.

I really enjoyed this book. Lee Jacquots writing is incredible. Her writing just sucks you into the story. It’s so easy to follow.
I think I found a new favorite trope of mine; the single parent trope. I loved Lyn so much in this book, she was like the heart and soul of the family. I loved that Theo was completely obsessed with Olivia and had been pining for her for literally 4 years. Let’s not forget that Theo calls Lyn “ Little Beaver. “ Stop it’s so cute.

I downloaded this book as soon as it was released, but it took me a while to actually read it because the single parent + older woman/younger man tropes aren’t usually my thing.
Happy to report that I really liked this! It was a cuter/sweeter than the other books in the Holinights series (this one and Cupids Peak are less focussed on a kink, and more on the MMC’s pining/pursuit of the FMC), but still had great sexual tension and a lot of spice.
The FMC’s flip from being wary to let’s do this/together forever was a bit jarring for me, so I would have liked a bit more something there, but overall I really enjoyed this.

Ehhhhhhh, this was alright. I think this is the only novella I didn’t like from Lee, but that’s okay!
I just really wasn’t a fan of the whole “mama” talk. It was very cringe and the way they talked in general to each other just gave me the ick.
The text messages were weird because even though they both secretly had feelings for each other, the dirty talk was almost immediate and he was extremely possessive without realizing how she felt.
But we all love a happily ever after.
