Park Avenue Princes #4

Possessive Park Avenue Prince

Rate this book
Who are we? Like you even need to ask. We’re the seven richer-than-sin legacies causing debauchery at the prestigious Astor University in Manhattan.
Some call us spoiled.
Some call us trouble.
But everyone calls us the Park Avenue Princes.

Daire Connery
“The Bad Boy”

I’m not a man of many words. But when I do speak, it usually starts with F and ends with you.
Keep to myself. Don’t let anyone in. That’s how I like it.
That’s usually how everyone else likes it too. My scowl keeps them all away—all except him.

We may both be Park Avenue Princes, but we would never work.
We don’t belong in each other’s real worlds.
He’s too soft for mine; mine’s too harsh for his.

But I can’t stop thinking about him. About those pale grey eyes that see right through me. The ballsy way he gives right back whatever I dish out.
I like that. Respect it.
Want more of it…

Which is why when I find out his ex is bullying him, it makes me want to rip that bastard a new one. Makes me lose my goddamn mind.

Because no one touches Gavin Truitt. No one but me.

Possessive Park Avenue Prince is the fourth standalone novel in the Park Avenue Princes world.

Daire and Gavin's story is my favorite of the series. I love a grumpy/sunshine trope and my goodness Daire is quite a grumpy, surly, growly man, who I could not get enough of. His primal need to possess, and protect while simultaneously desiring Gavin makes Daire reconsider his complicated feelings and thoughts.

Gavin on the other hand is naturally kind, friendly, and non-confrontational, which makes Daire the perfect advocate for Gavin. I enjoyed seeing Daire's protective instincts activated when anyone glances at Gavin suspiciously or touches him in any way that could be interpreted as threatening.

Another entertaining aspect of this story is the witty banter between Daire and Gavin and their willingness to get under one another's skin. They have no problem pushing each other's buttons while getting their point across. I like that Gavin is the only person Daire is ever vulnerable with, thus showing their intense connection and care for one another.

Overall I love this series and all of the hilarious interactions among these characters and seeing each of them through different perspectives. I'm also enjoying all the subtle hints at future pairings. Daire and Gavin are an enjoyable ride and I loved their HEA. They are perfect for one another and seeing them both happy together is amazing!!!

this book felt the exact same as any other book in this series. but on top of this one, we have the cliche bad boy x good boy trope which i did like, but it doesn't really mean much since we hardly had any relationship development outside of the sex.

the whole concept of this series is ridiculous and so unrealistic. the fact that this series surrounds around a bunch of spoiled af assholes who have nothing better to do than cause shit for everyone else just has me 🤯 the conversations between the princes had me rolling my eyes, like of course they don't talk about anything else besides sex. do any of these characters actually have any depth??? do they have anything better to do???

the plot of this book starts out with Gavin's ex and his best friends, bullying him. like really? bullying in UNIVERSITY? that is some elementary school bullshit.

now for the shittest prince, east. i loathe him. i hate him so much i also hate the rest of the princes because they are even friends with him. even in the first book i couldn't fully enjoy it because west still remained to be bestfriends with that asshole after what he did. so i've disliked east from the first book. and i have no interest in reading his story. obviously, the characters aren't trying to win any good person award, but still, it just put a bad taste in my mouth.

this book brought nothing new. i know this has really good tropes and they delivered, especially with the protective/possessiveness, but i swear i've developed some vendetta against these authors writing and story telling so i can never fully enjoy it. i know my opinion is unpopular and i think this can still be enjoyable if you want a fun light read, so i don't want to sway anyone that wants to read it. this is definitely a me issue. 🤦‍♀️

Firstly I have to say how much I enjoyed Gavin being sassy and an absolute little shit when he was trying to get Daire's attention 😂

I really liked these two together and my heart hurt for Daire when it was revealed how his 'parents' treat him.

I especially loved the Van talk with Daire and Van - this book was so different in approach to the previous three because Daire goes for what he wants but he's upfront about it and doesn't hide, plus there's no third act break up!

I think Gavin and Daire may be the sweetest couple of this series so far and I love it.

Can't decide if I want Travis or East to be next though - I'm dying to see Travis get his HEA, but East is pretty much Chuck Bass and he was always my favourite in Gossip Girl...

EDIT: I revised my stars half back up as I realised there was only the one thing - which didn't directly concern the two main characters - that irritated me.

***

I cannot stand a self-sacrificing martyr so I was so happy that Ella & Brooke didn't go down that road with Daire.

We did get a little bit of I'm no good for him, I'll hurt him before he got himself in order and realised that he was in control of whether or not he treated Gavin right!

There's loads of passion in this book, it definitely lives up to its name, and for the vast majority of the narrative, I really liked seeing Daire navigating his way through the inconvenient feelings that he had for the younger Gavin.

But there was another one of those we're so rich we can get away with things that are incredibly shitty and pretty nasty irrespective of the circumstances which again put me off the story, similar to book one.

It was a shame, because it was shaping up to be my second favourite after Van & Kelly's book, but it just made me even less interested in reading anything about James Easton.

I will though, I don't like leaving a series unfinished because I am hoping for a serious redemption/"I'm not a dick" arc for him, after what he does here.

I'm trying not to spoiler things but it concerns Gavin's ex Joey and his bunch of looser friends and, even with their crappy behaviour, what happens is so ridiculously over the top, and actually criminal, that I got the same yacky feeling book one gave me about young people with insane amounts of power and privilege getting away with things that others would be put in prison for.

Having said that, the rest of the story is wonderful. I loved seeing Daire fall for Gavin despite his best efforts to avoid the pesky feelings he was having. Gavin learns to put himself first and to go after the things he wants - namely Daire.

They're insanely hot together, because this pair of writers know how to deliver on the sexy times, but it's also surprisingly sweet, given how Daire's been the bad boy grumpy one throughout the rest of the series.

I think it's probably Travis up next and I am dying to find out just what the beef is between him and Caleb!

#ARC kindly received from the authors via Foreword PR. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

⭐︎ 4.75 stars rounded up ⭐︎

We were back on track with this one, I absolutely loved it.

I think I can safely say that this is my favorite book, and my favorite couple so far. Gavin and Daire had me in a chokehold from the beginning.

I am a big, huge sucker for their kind of dynamic. The bad boy badass with a heart of gold under the very tough exterior and the good boy sweetie pie who can stand up for himself and has some steel along with that kind exterior. And also the big tough bad boy will fuck up anyone who goes near his good boy. Or tries to hurt him in any way.

We got in this:

✓ Delicious overprotectiveness
✓ Bad boy/Good boy
✓ Grumpy/Sunshine
✓ "Touch him and die"
✓ "I can fix him"
✓ "You're my one exception"
✓ Scorching sex scenes

Their chemistry was so good from the jump. Daire can be a complete asshole to Gavin, but Gavin isn't giving up. Daire doesn't understand why. Why he's worth it, why Gavin wants him so much.

We come to understand that Daire has had no one, his whole entire life, to love him. His parents are absent pieces of shit who essentially abandoned him. Only because they had money and could pay for others to take care of him where they ever slightly around even 1% of his life.

But that neglect truly damaged Daire, and he's a hard, angry, angsty person. He truly can be an utter asshole. The only reason he ended up in this friend group was West's father seeing him in the corner, all alone, at an event and inviting him to stay at the building the rest of the Prince's stay at too.

But while Daire barely sees the guys as friends at the beginning of this, that changes over the course of this book. Especially because of Gavin.

Gavin is the exception to all of this. Not that it still doesn't take a massive amount of work on Gavin's part to get past Daire's huge walls, and his asshole exterior. But there's still always been a slight softness in Daire when it comes to Gavin. And Gavin is the one who can calm him down from beating someone up, to get him to step back before he starts.

Gavin is just truly kind and good and sweet. He does have a backbone too that he uses with Daire - that Daire lets him use on him. Anyone else and he'd probably lay them out, but not Gavin. Gavin, Daire lets stand up to him - but at his core he's a good, kind guy.

Despite his good looks, Daire doesn't see good in himself. He doesn't understand what Gavin could see in him, and so pushes him away at every turn. He's also scared that he would screw it up and hurt Gavin someway, somehow, down the road. Because that's just who he is, right?

He's an utter asshole to Gavin in order to push him away, but Gavin isn't having it. It take a lot for Gavin to relent and try to move on. Only once he does, of course Daire can't stand that fact, and a talk with Travis changes his stubborn refusal to start something real with Gavin.

But once he gives in fully, he's in all the way.

My only reason for .25 stars off, even though I wish I could have given this 5 stars, is the transition from Daire's refusal to give into them to declaring his love for Gavin. It was a tad too fast. I definitely felt the lust and the growing feelings that Daire tries to ignore, but the "I love you" scene just came a tad too fast, imo. Gavin's perhaps a bit fast as well, as Daire was an utter asshole for most of their interacts up until he gave into them and a relationship, but also he was totally gone for Daire even in that state, so I kind of got it.

The balance between them fighting getting together to not just needed to be a bit better.

Not so much that I'm giving more off than .25 off, because I loved this and these two too much to give more off. Like yeah it was fast but most of me just didn't care. I loved the scenes we did get showing their changing relationship. The foundation for love was there, and it was heading there, just not *quite* when we got it, is all.

Otherwise, I don't have any complaints. This was SUCH an improvement from the third book, which sprung that surprise sharing scene on us and was never clear if they would continue to share past the book.

Thankfully this book lives up to its title. These two are possessive AF, especially Daire. But they specify they don't like threesomes or sharing in this, so I was over the moon about that. It's just these two for each other.

Which makes all the sense for Daire's personality as well. Gavin's as well. It just fit them so well.

This was also strictly top/bottom, which I loved. There was a hint Daire might like ass play, but it didn't go there, and I was happy about that. Daire just didn't feel like a verse type of guy, imo, so trying to make him one would have felt a little forced.

The sex scenes were also scorching hot. Honestly, I think these two had the best, most intense and passionate sex scenes so far. I especially loved when . It just hit all the right spots.

I'm so so happy and thankful that this book made up for the last one. It's almost surprising that the same authors wrote the last book and this one. But this is on par with the first two for me. Better, even. But this one brought back what I'd been loving so much about this series.

I don't know if the other remaining couples can beat Daire and Gavin for me. They were just perfect and I loved this.

I know Travis and Caleb will be one of the remaining couples. It just remains to be seen whether we'll get East and just that TA, Zach, or if these ladies will go poly with them and that professor guy. I'm weary and greatly suspicious that they will. If they do I just won't be reading East's book (which I won't be too bummed about. East is my least favorite of the Princes, tbh).

BUT, if it goes just with East and Zach as the couple, I'll still give his book a chance.

Guess we'll see whose book is whose of the last two left. Honestly I could see both of them as either the "Salacious" or "Notorious" prince, although with Travis and his apparent "manwhore" ways I'm leaning toward him and Caleb being next. I am mighty curious what happened with them and why they hate each other. (Also potential lovers to enemies to lovers, perhaps?? I'm very intrigued!)

Can't wait for more! 😍

Daire x Gavin is definitely one of my favorite couples from this series. I just absolutely love them.
Daires a super grouch who tried his best to push everyone away but Gavin simply wasnt having it. He had to have him.

We love a broody protective boyfriend 🫶🏽

There were a couple instances that were super unrealistic/ cheesy but not enough to take away from my enjoyment of the story.

Pretty hot smut. though i wish the princes weren’t so vanilla in the sack (more kinks pls).

Gavin's and Daire's chemistry was evident in the books before theirs, gradually getting more tense up until the last book, making me so eager for their story!

I knew that this book was going to filled to the brim with angst and tension, and I ate it up! I loved Daire's possessiveness of Gavin and how Gavin was the only person that got through to Daire to calm him down and make him feel wanted. My heart broke for Daire. His parents are vile and I'm glad he found Gavin and the other princes.

I loved being with the group again, their banter and closeness are things I adore in book series about a group of friends.

The spicy scenes were hot, especially the one after Daire's secret activities. I loved how Gavin didn't talk Daire out of said activities, but instead supported him to turn it into a career.

So far, my favourite in the series. Can't wait for more.

i mean the book’s your typical bad boy wattpadish story and i mean, i love them, so no complaints about that.

however for a standalone it’s pretty damn confusing. who the hell are those princes? why do they all have weird names? why are they called princes? what the actual fuck do they do all day? why do they bother going to school if they’re richer than god? why are they wanna be criminals? who are all those people?

i could go on, but i think i’ve made my point.
i think to understand all that i need to read all the books. will i do that? probably, as an experiment to see if my questions will be answered. i’m sorry to say that you will joining me on this adventure

✨✨✨✨✨🪄✨✨✨✨✨

So, apparently I have a thing for dark and broody "touch him and die" kind of books, especially if they go out into the night and brutally fight to get their rage in control. And only one person can tame them. But they have to stay put enough to realize they're worthy of the love they get. This is that type of book. And I loved it.❤️‍🔥✨

❝ Unbelievable. So this morning, that meant nothing to you? ❞
❝ I mean, it was good. ❞ I shrugged, needing him to get the hell away from me before I did something seriously stupid. ❝ You're a good fuck. ❞
Gavin's palm came up and landed hard on my cheek before I could duck out of the way.

This book choked the life out of me. The story was about this innocent guy falling for his older brother's bad chaotic friend. And I fucking lived! It was this frustratingly delicious slow burn from start to finish. My mouth was fucking foaming. The only part that I didn't liked were these scenes with Joey in like the first 30% of the book. But the moment I surpassed the Joey scenes, I was fucking invested.

"You don't get a say. You can't have it both ways. You can't push me away and want nothing to do with me but then say no one else can be with me either. That's not fair."

Oh Daire honey. I never knew he had it in him. Most of what we've known about Daire going into this book was in the form of either growling or a snarky AF comment. That's it. I was super intrigued to finally get to spend some time in that head of his. I wanted to know what made him tick. Why was he such a surly bastard all the time? And how the hell was sweet Gavin going to crack that mile high wall he had erected around himself?

Turns out, Gavin isn't as sweet and innocent as he appears. Just like Daire, he has layers. And secrets. Due to his mysterious and anti-social nature I figured Daire was going to want to keep what he was getting up to with Gavin a secret. Turns out he's more of a stand up guy than I thought. Well, he totally could have gone about spilling the beans in a gentler way, but that definitely wasn't his style.

Their romance wasn't all smiles and laughs. I mean, this is Daire we are talking about. He had some internal stuff to work through before he could truly open himself up to being with Gavin. The saint that he was, Gavin was patient. And all that patience paid off when he finally got to claim Daire as his and vise versa.

Now there are only two Princes left. We do get a teeny tease of them both and whom I assume are their men. I'm sticking with my previous guesses for the next two books. My money is on Salacious being Travis/Caleb and Notorious being East/Zac. After all, East would probably expect nothing less than the authors saving "the best" for last.

Possessive Park Avenue Prince is book 4 in the fabulous Park Avenue Princes series by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine and I am totally loving this steamy, MM college romance series so far!

This is Daire and Gavin's story, (remember Gavin is Donovan's younger brother) and this one features a possessive, I shouldn't want him but I WANT him trope, with all the usual suspects playing their part. This one has a darker vibe than the previous three installments, so do check the authors' notes if you have any concerns.

You'll enjoy this one if you love:

❣️MM college romance
❣️Opposites attract
❣️Found family
❣️Forbidden
❣️Roommates
❣️Mine (touch him and....)
❣️All the steam
❣️HEA

Can't wait for book 5, Salacious Park Avenue Prince, expected on my birthday, 27 June!

Worth the Fight

OMG, Ella and Blaine have outdone themselves with this 4th book, ‘Possessive Park Avenue Prince’. So far removed from the previous Princes who flashed their wealth about for all to see.

I didn’t see any clues to Daire’s character earlier in this series, but here I was blown away at how different he was from the other PAPS. And just wait till you discover exactly what he was hiding from his Tower neighbours and friends.

Of course underneath all of that tough guy stuff only one person bothered to look behind all that bravado, he saw the hurt lonely young man.

When Gavin Truitt, became Daire’s roommate it was an uneasy beginning to their relationship. They were part of the same PAP group but Daire’s kept more to himself than the others,. He was known as the grumpy, growly one, cold and aloof.

One evening on the roof, Daire discovered Gavin crying and hurt, he eventually wormed it out of Gavin that his boyfriend Joey had beaten him, and Gavin had broken up with him.

Daire broke a promise that night and it lit a fuse between himself and Gavin, it started flames between them that Daire tried his best to quench and deny.

These two were just magic to see getting to know each other. So different from each other, both wanting the other. One feeling he didn’t deserve him,

“I’m about as wrong for you as anyone
could be. More fucked up and messy than
anyone deserves—especially you”.

But who knew that Gavin was such a sneaky little fighter, just like Daire, to get what he wants, when he wants. He’s not intimidated by Daire one little bit.

Loved feisty Gavin and his sassiness, and my heart ached for Daire because of his awful parents. 👿😭

This is my favourite in the series so far and I’m so waiting to read Travis and Caleb’s story and I think East and his TA Zac might have something to tell too.

This whole series is well worth donating some space to on your TBR List.

4.25 - 4.5 stars!

Possessive Park Avenue Prince is the fourth book in the Park Avenue Princes series and features Gavin and Daire. A grumpy/sunshine trope with plenty of steam and an engaging plot. I really liked this installment in this series mainly because the relationship between Gavin and Daire was so tension filled and angsty in the best ways. Gavin wanted Daire but wasn't willing to wait around and Daire didn't think he deserved Gavin but didn't want anyone else to have him.

"It was wrong. All of this was wrong. Gavin didn’t belong in anyone else’s arms. He belonged in mine."

Gavin tried to break through Daire's hard shell so many times. These two were so right for each other and I loved the build of trust between them.

"Daire wasn’t a safe bet. Not by any means. Yet something about him called to me in a way no one ever had before."

When these two explored the explosive chemistry between each other, it was sexy and passionate and I loved every encounter they had with each other.

“That’s right. I am an animal. And I’ll eat you alive if you fucking let me.”

Gavin had such a friendly and nurturing nature and Daire was surly and grumpy. I loved reading how Daire fell and then how he realized how hard he had fallen. It was so endearing. His protective and caring nature he tried to hide shined through so many times for his Gavin. Gavin in turn was the safe space for him to be softer when he had spent most of his life needing to be hard in life.

Just an all around great read and relationship. Can't wait for what's next!

“You said I couldn’t have it both ways. So I’m pickin’ a way.” I put my lips to his glistening temple and licked at the salty skin there. “I want to run my tongue all over you. And I want to be inside you when I do it.”

“So what is it you…need?” he asked.
“To fuck your brother.”

💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀I have no words. None.

This is my favorite part of this book. I think. The rest was me being meh on Daire for 80% of the book. Then me finally seeing the vision the last 20%.

Bear with me. My thoughts ping-pong from start to end.

First things first.

Petition to name Travis' book 'Horny Park Avenue Prince' because he has no off switch.

"Praise kink is so not my scene. But I bet you’re a really good boy for Daddy Archer.”
Preston grinned. “You don’t know the half of it.”
Travis sat down beside Preston and scooted in close. “But we’d like to.”
East scrunched his nose up. “Speak for yourself.”
"I am."

OH MY GOD, TRAVIS IS I💀💀and I'm soooo bitter his book has taken forever to come.

Also, am I crazy, but why do they all act like a sprinter van is this exotic way to get to school? I feel gaslit.

Gavin keeps talking about these flashes of vulnerability that Daire shows? Which ones are these, pray tell? Is it when he says he wants to fuck you, Gavin? 💀💀💀

"But now he was storming around like he’d stuck his dick in a beehive, and that beehive was me."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A heartwarming romance of one MC asking for pathetically little - and not even getting that 🥰🥰🥰 Aren't we so lucky?

Gavin has no spine whatsoever but that's okay because that's how Daire likes it.

" My breath caught as I sat there with his life pulsing inside me......."

Oh, THAT'S what we're calling it?

Anyway. Daire really made huge strides emotionally when he eventually decided to. Him being the sappy one at the end really saved this for me.

Gavin needs to stand up. But I guess that's solved by Daire having a personality transplant.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5/5
Format: ebook

“I’ve never had a real home before. Never had any direction or known what I wanted in life, until you. You’re my compass, Gavin. I’d follow you anywhere.”

Daire and Gavin… yes, yes, yes.

Okay who would’ve thought that behind closed doors, grouchy Daire would be so sweet and gentle, and sunshine-y Gavin would be a slutty and tempting little power bottom? Not me, but I was living for it.

The push and pull in this book was so good, and this was more of a slowburn than the previous three books, which I think worked really well for this pairing. And the way Daire got so possessive and protective over Gavin was super hot. I love that even when he wasn’t aware he was attracted to Gavin, he was always unconsciously taking care of him. Also Gavin being the only one who could call Daire down was so cute.

While there seemed to be less spice in this book than the others (because the relationship developed a lot slower), the scenes were scorching hot. The power dynamics were not at all what I thought they would be, and I loved how dominant Gavin became when he was turned on.

The compass and saint pendants part of this book were the sweetest thing ever. This book had me tearing up so much. They were just the most loving boyfriends to each other, after so much back and forth. I just liked how organically they fit together.

All the other Park Avenue Princes were more bearable this book. Also zero mention of Kelly’s dick finally, bless. I can’t believe Travis and Caleb’s book is finally next. I’ve been waiting so long for this.

I am absolutely hooked on this series and all the Park Avenue Princes! The authors' duo is absolutely killing it with their stories, and I can't get enough. Daire and Gavin's book has quickly become my favorite in this series, surpassing Van and Kelly's (who are now in the second spot).

Daire is a brooding bad boy who believes he's better off alone, while Gavin has just moved in with Daire as his roommate after a tough breakup. When Daire takes matters into his own hands and confronts Gavin's ex, it leads to a fallout between the two. Their relationship is fraught with misunderstandings, especially when it comes to Daire's actions, but everything changes with one unforgettable kiss.

Gavin is all sunshine and constantly aims to please, but Daire fears that being with him will only bring him down. However, it's heartwarming to see Daire finally come to his senses and treat Gavin the way he deserves. Their dates are incredibly sweet, and Daire's possessiveness truly does justice to the title of the book.

The appearances of the other Park Avenue Princes are fantastic, particularly Van's protective side as a big brother and the revenge plan the guys execute on Gavin's ex and his friends. It's just perfect. I can't wait to dive into the next book in this series, and I'm hoping it's Travis and Caleb's story. I'm also eagerly anticipating East's book, even though it seems like it will be the last.

I highly recommend starting this series. It's absolutely amazing, and you're in for a real treat with the Park Avenue Princes.

With this being the fourth book and if you've read any of the previous three, it wasn't exactly a surprise to see Daire and Gavin ending up together. I think there were subtle hints as early as the first book but there definitely were some later on.

This story spans a few months and the characters go through a lot of phases during that time. Of course there are time jumps, but in most of them it was easy to understand how much time had passed. Maybe it wasn't very clear right away one or two times later in the story but it was rectified soon enough.

So Daire is super protective of Gavin but at the same time he's reluctant to get closer to him as he doesn't believe he's good enough. So while he can't resist him completely he's resisting him enough to cause frustration to both of them.

I liked Gavin trying to make Daire jealous in an effort to get a reaction or trying to tempt him enough for his resolve to break but I didn't like a lot of the Princes' behavior and plans. They felt like they had the right to do and say whatever they wanted and for good reason since they always seemed to get away with everything.

I liked the characters enough but most of them are entitled and live in a world where rules mean something else than they do for most people. That often comes with the amount of money they have and here it seemed like there were no consequences no matter what they got up to.

Anyway, I liked the story enough and I liked how Daire was different with Gavin than he was with anybody else. He was softer, more mellow, more open with him.

Only two Princes are left, East and Trevor. I don't know which of them is next but I think I know who each of them will end up with. For Trevor it was clear right from the start of the series. As for East, I think his love interest was mentioned briefly here and if that's in fact who he'll end up with, it's going to be a very interesting story.

This book is like hanging out with that one unhinged friend you’re not really sure what to make of most of the time but once in a while you throw sanity to the wind and just go along with their special brand of outrageous bullshit and have a great fucking time with an unspoken agreement to never discuss it in detail or think about it too carefully once the night is over and they’re firmly strapped back into the passenger seat. YKWIM? 😉

description

It was absurd, and over the top, and sorta nonsensical especially since they did not really behave like college guys, even filthy rich legacy family college dudes (take my word for it… I wish I didn’t know… but I do 🤷🏼‍♀️).

But, It sure did keep me entertained, and when you accept it for what it is - see above mini rant 👆🏻- it’s actually fairly easy to suspend disbelief and just go along for the ride.

I liked Gavin’s character a lot, but Daire… I felt he was a bit too much of a stereotypical growly-tough-guy/bad boy and we didn't get enough glimpses into his deeper character. It’s always weird when you can tell what an authors trying to do but it’s falling short of the mark.

Maybe spending 50% of the book on the revenge side quest could have been reduced a wee bit to make room for some better character development, and development of the actual relationship between the main couple. Because when that finally did happen, things actually got quite good on the relationship front and we got some really nice moments where romance and chemistry finally alchemized (is that a word? It is now…)

EXCEPT. I’ve got one big beef with this book that slapped this down from a solid 4 stars to 3… and that’s the first sex scene. I CAN NOT BELIEVE the author made us wait to over the 50% mark for them to get together, and then we get that stupid lube-less, rushed scene in a van of all places?!? It was dumb AF and COMPLETELY unnecessary. I know I’m yelling but what the fucknuts was that even there for??? Their second time - which was rough and hot and urgent but with feeling and romance (and lube!!!) should have been their first time, and I’m planting my flag on that hill goddammit.

*collecting myself*

Anyway.

Other than that, I liked it. But I won’t be subjecting myself to the rest of the series. That’s all.

Cheers to Gavin, cheers to Daire. Cheers to fucking the growl right out of the bear.

3 stars and that’s why:

- Daire was so promising as a grumpy possessive bastard...and then it all became too cheesy. WHYYY 🗣️

- Gavin's abuse was treated too superficially, even by himself imo. After a trauma like his I would have liked more depth, but I didn't feel it -- I don't think I can expect more than that from this series.

Really hot af moments though. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Arc review!
Once again another 5 star read from this series. I was so excited for daire and gavin. I loved how daire protected gavin through the book but also how gavin learned how to stand up for himself and know not to take s*it from anyone including daire! The soft moments i lived for especially since we only saw daires grumpy self in previous books. And the end when daire found the rare compas and they had that sweet moment in the store SOBBING I LOVED THAT. Also just like to add i predicted daire was gonna be tatted up and i was very happy i was correct. Also loved him finding his passion and becoming a mma fighter in the end. I absolutely adored this book and lived for the sweet and steamy moments between them. And can not WAIT for the next book!! #opperationtourturedaire 🤭

Eee this was perfect grumpy/sunshine and I couldn’t put it down! I’m loving this series and I think this one is my new favourite. Daire is my favourite kind of MC and I adored him.

This is book 4 of the Park Avenue Princes series and this is Daire (grumpy scowler who only communicates through grunts) and Gavin (sunshiney blonde angel bb who is also Donovan’s younger bro).

After events of previous books, Gavin decides he needs to move out and ends up moving in with Daire, pretty reluctantly on both sides, even though they’re reasonably close.

Gavin has just gone through a pretty nasty break up, and confines in Daire. Daire takes matters into his own hands (literally) and this results in Gavin and Daire falling out. And results in a lot of ✨tEnSiOn✨ over a whole bunch of months and a small instance of a small stalking, and we see what Daire gets up to.

The spice between these two was EXQUISITE. They are pretty feral over each other and REALLY try to stay away. Until they don’t. Gavin is kinda bossy and bratty but melts with Daire. And Daire melts too alone with being a possessive psycho (complimentary) 😫 both precious and I love them.

This had real Gossip Girl vibes for me, this kinda reminded me of the Nairtini situation in GG but this is a lot more rich payback and it was DESERVED. The Park Avenue bois look after their own 👏👏👏

I can’t wait for the rest of this series, especially East’s book!!! I need it desperately 😂
