Every person she kisses finds their true love, and it’s never her—until now, in this funny and magically romantic short story by the New York Times bestselling author of The Dead Romantics.
Audrey Love is cursed to be the person before you find your soulmate, the girl you dump for your true love. So when her best friend disappears hours before his Valentine’s Day wedding, Audrey fears that she did the unthinkable and kissed him at last night’s bachelor party. With help from the best man, she retraces her steps to find the missing groom and, with any luck, a true love of her own.
Ashley Poston’s With Any Luck is part of The Improbable Meet-Cute, irresistibly romantic stories about finding love when and where you least expect it. They can be read or listened to in one sitting. Let’s make a date of it.
I can not stress upon how shit this book was! Me and Roxy were supposed to buddy read the romantic short stories (valentines edition) but we procrastinated because they were like 5 book so I cut them to 3 choosing the first two which had the avg. rating of 4 or above and added this one because it had Ashley Poston and because ROXY used to fangirl over the dead romantics so much. Little did we know how horrendous it would be....I have not read anything by Ashley poston but I know for a fact that she can not write short stories.
I am so glad Roxy moved away because she would have been in my house beating me for adding this book :( (despite it being also her fault)
Where do i even begin?? Audrey?? sorry Ashley come up with a better name and a better character because by the end of this book I wanted to give her my backhanded slap (bloody bastard) ginger guy? i dont even remember the name was just ginger and broad and I am pretty sure was horrible at sex that why the scene at the end was so rushed!! Rhett? where was he and why was he?? the romance, I know its a short story but pls them falling in love in 15 pages?? make it make sense!!!!!
Also. the fact that Audrey went on throughout these 30 pages thinking she kissed her best friend a day before his wedding?? why would you think that if you were best friends and he was like a brother to you. tbh majority of her inner monologue was her being obsessed about Rhett. It was just very poorly executed.
NO, I am not going to judge Ashley because of this book and Yes, I will read TDR or TSYS.
This is the second Amazon Original novella that I have read that is part of “The Improbable Meet-Cute” series which was released just in time for Valentine’s Day.
These short stories are about finding love when and where you least expect it, and the collection was penned by some of your favorite romance authors. Each can be read or listened to in one sitting.

Audrey Love is used to being the girl a guy kisses-just before he meets “THE ONE”.
She is serving as “best man” for her best friend, Rhett, and in charge of his bachelor party, the night before his wedding.
So, what happened LAST NIGHT to make Rhett become a RUNAWAY GROOM?
Could it have to do with a KISS? 💋
A cute, short story that reads a bit YA-but I liked the resolution!!💜

With Any Luck by Ashley Poston Improbable Meet Cute Collection. Contemporary romance novella. All six can be read as standalone. Common theme is Valentine’s Meet Cute. Each also has a minor reference to one store, item or person in one of the other stories. Audrey Love is cursed to be the “before” woman. Whoever she kisses, will find their true love the next day. So she keeps men as friends including her BFF whose wedding she will stand up in. After a forgettable night of drinking, she’s lost the groom and it’s up to her and the bride’s BFF to figure out what happened. Said BFF just happens to be a former lover she can’t forget.
This short romance novella was unusual. It’s a dual time line from today, the wedding, to last night, the bachelorette and bachelor parties and Audrey trying to retrace her steps after a night of drinking shots. And a missing groom. I’ve had more than my share of forgotten nights and bad decisions but haven’t lost a groom before. Hopefully Love and Luck will be an unbeatable team going into the future. Reads as new adult but groom and Audrey are 31.
The plot sounded so good, but the execution just wasn’t it😕. So, what I gathered from this short story is the main characters had a one night stand, but the mmc refused to kiss her (so that made me dislike him the whole time). Ummm. I honestly didn’t really understand the first 10 pages. Also I didn’t even know who the love interest was. Because the whole time Audrey (the fmc) kept acting like she was actually into her best friend, Rhett🤷♀️ and not Theo (the mmc).
A best man & maid of honor (flipped & reversed) on the search for a missing groom on Valentine's Day...two hours before he is set to say "I do." With Any Luck is part The Hangover with a dash of My Best Friend's Wedding and a little bit of Good Luck Chuck. 3.5 stars.
With Any Luck, Ashley Poston Narrator: Amy McFadden
Oh this was for sure my favorite of the anthology!!! I’ve come to the conclusion that Ashley Poston owns me. Maybe I should go watch the Hangover because this was perfect. Of course, I’d read a full length novel, but beggars can’t be choosers.
The premise was so fun! Every time she kisses someone, they meet the love of their life the next day—except for her. It made for some fun tension. Compounded by her being the best man and the hero being the maid of honor at their respective best friends’ wedding…until they misplace the groom. The story felt very well rounded and complete!
I loved the set up and the minor memory loss so we could piece together what happened at the bachelor party at the same time as the heroine. Like Jasmine Guillory’s, there was kissing! And almost third basing (on page)!
✨Hangover-esque missing groom ✨She’s the best man ✨He’s the maid of honor ✨Valentine’s Day ✨Second hero-could-rival-Brendan-Fraser reference of the anthology ✨Second chance-ish ✨Temporary amnesia (alcohol induced)
Narrator performance: She’s got a good guy voice, but she didn’t give my favorite performance overall. She sounded a bit like Lily in the Princess Diaries audiobooks lmao.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️/5

I received an eARC via NetGalley. All opinions are honest and my own.
There are already 3 books that I don't like in a row, I'll finish this ``saga'' since I only have one book left but, wow, what a disaster, I've only enjoyed two of them 💀
Even though some of the author's descriptions are a little strange, it entertained me more than the previous two books.
A cute rom-com novella with an Ashley Poston twist? Sign me up! 🤭 This was chaotic, and I ate up every page! 😂 We also got not one, but TWO happy endings! Lovee!! 🥰🫶🏼💜
As soon as i heard Ashley Poston wrote one of the "Improbable Meet-Cute" novellas I have seen all over my goodreads, I ran straight to my Kindle to download it! 😂💜
Audrey thinks she has a curse, all the women in her family has. The day after someone kiss her, they find their true love. Now it's the wedding of her best friend, and she will be with Theo, the bride's best friend. They had a thing when they met, and he did everything to her, except kissing her... And now he wants to...
My least favourite of The Improbable Meet-Cute series, which deeply saddens me because I absolutely love Ashley Poston. I thought this was going to be a definite winner.
The thing is, I think this had amazing potential. But perhaps not for a novella. We've got a heroine who is seemingly unlucky in love—she is the girl you kiss before finding your soulmate—and an adventurous search for a missing groom on his wedding day.
The romance was a bit all over the place. I was initially confused who the love interest even was, which isn't the best feeling while reading a novella. Too much was going on, making it hard to feel any sort of connection in such few pages.
(heat level: one brief open-door scene, moderate details)
Ha! Poston’s clever short story skillfully led me down a rabbit hole that had me guessing the who, what, and why of love. Only regrets: The abrupt ending and no chocolate to munch while I read.
It’s cute for a novella and I was sick and needed a short romance to read, it did the trick (FYI I might read the whole series today because of how awful I feel and how short of a attention span I have right now)
Audrey Love is cursed. Every person she kisses finds their true love, and spoiler alert - it’s not her. When her best friend disappears hours before his own wedding, she and the best man must retrace her steps from the previous night in order to try to find him.
A male maid of honor and female best man? How could you not love it. I am always up for some wedding hijinks and this enemies to lovers/one night stand offers it in droves.
There is a bit of steam in this one versus the others that are closed door, but it works in the context of the story. Just know that going in, if you are more of a closed door girlie.
Read if you like: •wedding shenanigans •one night stand •forced proximity •amnesia “of sorts”
