Sorry for it taking me a while to write and post this review, I've been in a bit of a review slump... That should not however reflect badly on this book. Because I had such a fun time with this thief and pyromaniac.🤭

This is definitely out there, a bit ridiculous but simultaneously dark and have some tough-to-read moments.
Our mmc Kohen has been obsessed with Blaze(fmc) since childhood, but he's had extremely unconventional ways to show it. Which in turn backfired and instead grew into this heated hatred from Blaze year after year.

They are now older, finishing school. Blaze has a terrible reputation of stealing, drugs, fights, promiscuity etc, some based in truth, others not so much. After her house burns down she is placed in a strict reform school to work on her behaviours. It's only when Kohen, her perceived enemy, joins the same school a few months in that things start to change for her.
✧ “A trip to the shrink isn’t enough I need to be put down” ✧
What makes this so much fun is the unique perspectives and voices of Kohen and Blaze. They are tinged in obsession, delusion and slight insanity. But they are also deeply broken people. Blaze especially. My heart hurts for her, and I am so glad Kohen is as crazy about her that he is(heavy on crazy). He would do literally anything for her.

The middle felt a bit muddled and directionless at times, but overall this was so enjoyable. Obviously check TW's before picking this up, but if you're in the mood for an unhinged, fun dark romance this might be for you.🙂↕️

'F𝐈E𝐑Y L𝐈T𝐓L𝐄 𝐓H𝐈N𝐆' Is a full length contemporary romance book by new to me author 'Avina St. Graves. Spoken in 'dual perspectives. 'C𝐇A𝐑A𝐂T𝐄R𝐒: Blaze and KohenThe little thief and the pyromaniac, they were hot, they were toxic, they were perfectly imperfect but perfect for each other..This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it most definitely won’t be the last, straight away I was hooked, straight away I fell under this authors spell as she weaved a slow burn tale where opposites attract.

Kohen fell for our fiery little thief at a real young age, he never knew how to show he cared but because he knew she loved birds he left a dead bird for her, another time he gave her a bat, with their names engraved on it, so that she had a better chance fighting off her opponents being oblivious neither gift went down well was an understatement.
These two would go at it like cats on heat, heated barbs, angsty as fuck. The push and angsty pull these two wrung on my nerves had me eating up the pages like my life was in jeopardy, I’ve not inhaled a book this quick before..

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. This was so good y'all wtf😭 Pure chaos, hatred, tension, top tier smut and a devoted hero??? That's the recipe for perfection right there👏🏽 Kohen was *chef's kiss* and he's def one of my top fictional men. I mean, man's was OBSESSED with Blaze from day one - even if he showed it in all the wrong ways ahahahahah😅 As for Blaze...I support women's rights. But most importantly, I support women's wrongs🤓☝🏽 Miss St Graves always slays. PERIODT🫡

I've only read one book by Miss Avina and it was EPIC (it was Skin of a Sinner btw and it was *chef's kiss* GO READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T YET TEEHEHEH) and I'm really looking forward to reading this too. Apparently there's a scene where the h hooks up with the OM (it's listed in the TWs) and it made me realise that I'm such a hypocrite ahahaahahah...I don't mind seeing the heroine do stuff with an OM but OW/scenes with an OW is a HUGE no for me lolz💀 Can't wait to read this on release day🫡

3.5 Pyromaniac and Kleptomanic Stars ⭐
Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5
There is just something about Avina St. Graves that has the skill, expertise and talent to write two deliciously, dangerously deranged and unhinged characters and make you root for them.
This is a dual POV that follows Kohen and Blaze. Blaze has been tormented by Kohen since she was a little girl, but he is one of the few who know that even though she goes to a prestigious private school, she has no money and her house is one step away from being condemned. After being super jealous of Blaze hooking up with another guy, he sets her house on fire. So she does the only thing she can... she retaliates by going to his house and completely and utterly destroying everything with the baseball bat. After being caught instead of being sent to jail, she is sent to a reform school to continue out the last of her senior year. Soon however Kohen is sent to the same school, and guess who is allocated to be his buddy...
This book is not what you're going to expect. And if you're looking for another death obsession, you won't find it within these pages. It is closer to the "vibes" of Skin of a Sinner. The only difference is instead of there being only one unhinged character, we have two.
Blaze is the literal epitome of her name. She is stubborn, feisty, fiery, a firecracker and boy is she quick to anger. If that is not clear, she has a very short fuse and trust me when I say you do not want to be on the receiving end, because she will get physical and violent and might just bash your brains out with the baseball bat. I also felt sorry for her. She has a very tragic back story and she has a lot of awful things happen to her both on and off page. It broke my heart to see a character go through such traumatic experiences and how they shaped her explosive personality. You can almost not hold it against her that she is so rebellious and destructive to herself, as she has never had the support she needed. She is addicted to drugs and alcohol and battles that addiction throughout the book as they numb her thoughts and feelings while she deals with a society that has rejected her.
Kohen is kind of stuck in that "six-year-old" mentality where he believes that if you are mean to a girl, it shows her you like her. So if you pull her hair, cut her hair and set her hair on fire- she will fall madly in love with you. He is obsessed with Blaze and will do anything to have her.
The relationship between Kohen and Blaze is very unhealthy. Like if you think you're going to find a healthy relationship in a dark romance - what rock are you living under? Anyway... They are terrible for each other because they promote each other's "crazy" and cause it to escalate into the realm of morally grey. They are almost a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde or akin to the characters from Natural Born Killers.
One interesting observation I made is that none of the adults in this book are good. They are awful, vile people who do sickening things and have sickening actions. They have no love or compassion for anybody and idolise money. There is only one decent character, an old lady who owns a motel, and she happens to have a shotgun under her counter. I think it was a fantastic commentary on how society and the rich are filled with despicable people who wouldn't help even if you were their granddaughter.
And so, no matter how unhinged these two are, you still can't help but root for them to succeed in their hair-brained schemes. You want them to have their HEA and I commend Avina for being able to achieve this. You know no one will get them out of this but each other.
The best thing about this book is that it might have unlocked a new kink - CONGRATULATIONS! I don't think I will ever be able to take my blood pressure again without blushing. It was one of the sexiest scenes I have read in a long time and made my toes curl.
Now...what didn't work for me is that I battled to decide if this was an entire book based on characterisation or if it was based on plot because I didn't find the plot or a whole lot of growth in "characterisation". There is the plot of the two of them coming together, but you already know what's going to happen...because duh, this is a romance (even if it is an unhinged romance between two psychotic characters who need therapy and probably should be behind bars). But besides that, it felt that the plot was almost too conveniently pushed on the characters, and there wasn't much development of that overarching plot right from the start. It feels like the plot is something that was made up in the middle. Once they had gotten together, it felt disconnected.
I also really battled with seeing these two "grow" because growth implies improvement. These two do not grow, the relationship is destructive and they end up spiralling down and becoming worse. Crossing moral boundaries and blurring the lines of what is lawful and allowed. So there is this strange type of duality where the plot is weak, and the characterisation is reversed.

Overall, if you want something dark and unhinged that is sexy this is for you. It's entertaining and like a trainwreck or car crash you can't help but stare while gobbling it down like popcorn. Popcorn you can't stuff in your mouth as fast as possible.

I went into this with basically no expectations because I have never read this author nor has any of my reader friends.
To say this surprised me is an understatement.
Blaze and Kohen. Were hot AF.
I've read HUNDREDS of romance/smut books and this was easily the hottest first sex scene between two characters I've ever read.
Blaze (FMC) was annoying tf out of me for like 90% of this book. Kohen carried this book on his back, literally blaze for like 40% of the book 🙄 but he's so likable that he makes up for how much the FMC SUCKS. And she's supposed to suck she's intentionally unlikable so Graves did her job WELL with that one haha.
We've got a klepto and a pyro. The pyro falls in love with the klepto at a very young age and basically lives to save her from herself and all her addictions/self destruction. At first this was slow but once it gets going it's ADDICTING.
If you like dark virgin hero's who obsess over an unaware FMC (who's pretty annoying) then you'll LOVE this. All jokes aside I did genuinely really enjoy this!

It was a bit better than her previous books; I liked the main characters. Kohen and Blaze truly matched each other's craziness. I just wish Miss Graves had given them some character development. She’s gettin' good at her craft, but I wish her books had stronger plots and that the adults in them weren't so horrible.

pretty sure there's stories on wattpad that are better than this😔
the whole entire first half of the book i was all but begging blaze (fmc) to shut her goddamned mouth like i mean how hard is it for her to not say her a single sentence that won't dig what was quite nearly her actual grave??
and the second half of the book, she magically goes from "i'd rather die than be yours" to "i want to be yours" which is actually disappointing to say the least cause make up your mind, you're being embarassing girl🤦♀️🤦♀️
as for kohen, well he was just alright and just there for the ride with the insane kleptomaniac (fmc / blaze) ig

It’s a dark bully romance, with two incredibly unstable main characters lol.
She is a reckless girl that had a hard life, and he is a rich kid that fell head over heels with something that isn’t good for him. So he decides to hate her.
It’s spicy, it’s hot, it’s soooo dark
The banter is top tier. The quick quips just keep coming.
The story line is engaging, it keeps you wanting to read it.
At the beginning of the book the author gives a warning letting you know Kohen is an ass, however, I personally think Blaze is the bigger ass lol.

All in all it’s a great book, it was an easy read, I didn’t want to put it down, and I love Kohen.

The banter is top tier. The quick quips just keep coming.
The story line is engaging, it keeps you wanting to read it.
At the beginning of the book the author gives a warning letting you know Kohen is an ass, however, I personally think Blaze is the bigger ass lol.

If you ask me to describe this book with only one word, I would definitely use this: EXPLOSIVE. There was not one part of this book that didn’t feel like a bomb ready to set off. There was not one part that didn’t leave me breathless and obsessed and curious for more. I took my sweet little time reading it, because despite how twisted and wretched it is, it caught me in its trap and brought me down a very dark deep hole, which I don’t want to get out of. What does it say about me, I wonder? There must be something great about the author because she managed to make me fall for a deranged, morally grey, complicated and twisted MMC, who’s only rule in life is making her understand that she is his and there is nothing in this world that will stand between them. And also that he will take her of her forever more because there never was anyone but her and there never will be. Showing her love and devotion and loyalty and obsession and possessiveness and attention in a way she was not used to but desperately craved. And she … she is as twisted as he is. They are literally a match (iykyk) made in hell. And they managed to find their way into my soul !!! They put their names there, and there’s no carving them out !!! The action sequences were absolutely crazy and addicting and the dark romantic (kinda) and spicy scenes between them were fire !!!! Literally !!! I’m so so happy I got to read this book!!! And I desperately need to read the others from this author !!!

you know how some books you just get lost in the fictional world & then after finishing you have to like coax yourself back into reality ??? i didn’t have that problem w/ this book at all bc of the way i related so much w/ Blaze & Kohen.
Blaze & Kohen are that explosive couple that you know is toxic & dangerous but you can’t do anything but root for them & their happiness bc they legitimately deserve it.
i will always love a he falls first trope but when i tell you kohen is in HELL fucking burning & dancing w/ her demons i mean that. he takes burning everything down for his girl to the next level & i love it so much.
Blaze’s internal monologue is what had me in tears though; everything about her upbringing & the way her family & adults around treat her resonates in my soul in a way that i had to stop reading for a day or two.
I thought Deaths Obsession would hit me in the gut but the way Fiery Little Thing did should be ILLEGAL 😂😭 Avina’s writing in this is everything i hoped for & more. honestly her best book ever despite how much i love Letum & Roman.

I received this as an ARC, and let me tell you it was the best one I have read in a long time. I haven't signed up for ARCs in a while so I'm glad my first one back was amazing. This book ripped me apart but put me back together over and over again. Definitely a must read and an auto buy as soon as it releases.

The way Kohen never gave up on Blaze was everything🥹 Kohen's obsession and love for Blaze began from the moment he first laid eyes on her when they were younger. unfortunately this is the first book of Avina’s that i didn’t love. 2 stars for Kohen, 0 for Blaze, .5 for making me giggle throughout, and -8 for the length. also a secret invisible .5 for Kohen blowing shit up to impress Blaze.
also i love this quote bc it really sums up their entire relationship
