LEOPARD'S RUN by Christine Feehan is the eleventh novel in the Leopard People series, but it works as a stand-alone story. As with others in the series, this novel is a paranormal romance with suspense.

The story starts with a bang and does not let up. Timur Amurov is the head of security for his brother Fyodor and the other members of his family. His single purpose is to protect his family no matter what. He has skills honed through a violent upbringing followed by practice and use. When his sister-in-law Evangeline hires Ashe Bronte to work in her bakery without Ashe being screened, Timur's life is turned upside down. Ashe has secrets and Timur wants to know if she is setting up Fyodor for execution.

This book follows the normal pattern of two very strong characters, lots of action, and plenty of passion and steamy scenes. The plot is good and the characters are compelling and definitely have their own flaws and virtues. Their motivations are believable. However, you have to be able to read about a very dominant alpha male and a strong female lead that complements the alpha male and accepts his strong ways. These books also contain a lot of danger and violence.

Timur only saving grace from the abuse he survived at the hands of his father and his father’s family was he escaped with his brothers and now he leads the protection for his brother and his brother’s mate…until he meetsAshe.

Ashe is on the run only to find herself smack dab in the middle of an even larger shifter mess. Not knowing that she is going through the change, Ashe sets off all kinds of mating instincts in a highly volatile group of shifter leopards with Timur reluctantly leading the charge.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Timur and Ashe. Feehan found just the right balance between over-protective, alpha maleness and a strong female who knows just how to push his buttons and ignite the story into overdrive.

I received this ARC copy of Leopard's Run from Berkley Publishing Group. This is my honest and voluntary review. Leopard's Run is set for publication November 6, 2018.

You know how there are novellas you wish were longer, full-length books? For me, this book was the opposite — meaning, I thought that this was a book that would’ve been better as a novella. Why? Because there were more chapters devoted to sex and mating that I felt like I had to dig deep to find the storyline. And the frustrating part was that a story was in there, just intertwined so tightly between all the intercourse. Oy.

Look, I get that she’s in heat. I get that they’re mates. But for a good part of the middle of the book, there are long and detailed scenes (chapters, really) of them having sex, of their leopards having sex. Every 15 minutes! For hours!

It got to be too much for me. I wanted to read about other things that were happening, not just about how her mating heat overtook them. Repeatedly.

So back to my original point: if I actually took out a lot of the sexy times, I would probably end up with a darn great novella. But as it is, after the 3rd time they were going at it, reading became a long, dragging chore. I wasn’t enjoying what I was reading anymore. :(

So a new couple to enter my favorite series? Please- need updates on all older ones too- especially Jake! CANNOT WAIT!

"Leopard's Run" is the story of Ashe and Timur.

Book 10 in one of my all time favorite series, this time we have Leopard shifter Timur Amurov, brother to Fyodor who is his bodyguard as well as protector to Fyodor's wife Evangeline. Protecting both from many threats on their life from their extremely evil families, things take a turn when Evangeline hires an old friend Ashe Bronte to work in her bakery.
Timur is initially angry, but soon realizes Ashe is hiding many secrets of her own..
But when attempts are made on their lives, and suspicion falls on Ashe, Timur soon finds that the only calm his leopard has ever felt is in Ashe's presence, and soon realizes that she is his one and only, and irrespective of the consequences, he would always choose her.
We have a female in heat during her Han Vol Dan, loads of mating in animal and human forms, a HEA for Evangeline and Fyodor, some very bad evil guys, a kickass heroine meeting a ruthless hero and a very sweet ending.
Though this would not be one of my top favorites in this series, certainly is a good read!

Once again, Christine Feehan has created a great read with this addition to the Leopard Series. Leopard 's Run is the story of Timur Amurov and Ashe Bronte. "If you have been brutally broken but still have the courage to be gentle to others then you deserve a love deeper than the ocean itself." (Nikita Gill) is a quote that brings this story to light for me.

Timur feels he is terribly broken, abused his whole life to become the monster his father wanted him to be. He believes that there is no happiness to be found for him so he will use the monster within to protect those he calls family, so they can be happy. No matter how much it weighs on him and his conscience.

Ashe comes into his life looking for some way to get revenge on those who killed her parents. Ironically, she brings those he and his family left behind, family who wants to see them destroyed. The Uncles Timur has sworn to sacrifice everything to protect those he loves from. She is a woman raised to be independent and trained to defend herself in order to survive as well as, she finds out, to defend herself from her parents' past.

This couple is a perfect balance of opposites and similarities. As their relationship grows, they learn to trust each other, to reveal the secrets they keep. Both learn they can be honest and open with each other, that no thought need to be censored or words carefully chosen. Ashe finds she feels safe with him...that he will be himself with her, the mask he wears can be dropped, that with her and any children he can be loving.

He gives her ways to keep her independence and Timur finds he can have happiness with someone strong enough not only to hear the strain his role in the family places on him but is strong enough to help him, fight with and for him, to make his world lighter, a place with laughter and warmth. She accepts the choice he's made to walk the fine line of criminal and defender of the innocent. To end the terror The Bratya cause with drugs, guns and human trafficking. A calling he can't walk away from. She helps him see he is not what happened to him, not who his father wanted him to be but who he chooses to be.

As their bond strengthens so does their bond with family. It's wonderful to see how as love enters their lives they realize, acknowledge, a camaraderie, love, with family. They find that allies are friends and those to look to as examples of life after their abusive past. They work together and with allies to stay ahead of the trouble that followed her and found them. Doing so they discover other enemies around them. Christine does an amazing job keeping you wondering, making a long list of suspects with familiar names, some pulling at your heart hoping they are wrong. Your heart going out to Timur as he works to weed out who must be stopped. Happy to see Ashe will stay by his side and understands what he goes through, not to mention she is a badass when it comes to defending herself and those she has come to care about.

With some enemies defeated, some being hunted in other territories, and the wheels in motion to draw out The Uncles, preparing to face them instead of looking over their shoulder, Timur, Ashe, and their family are able to breathe for the moment. And the reader gets to absorb another happily ever after by Christine Feehan with her masterful balance of emotion, action, humor, passion, and the anticipation of what's next.

Two very strong characters, Timur and Ashe burn up the pages with action and passion. Ashe has taken a job at the bakery with Evangeline, but there's more to her than meets the eye and Timur has his suspicions. It's his job to keep his brother safe, he's a bodyguard and when Ashe is less than forthcoming about exactly why she's there he takes a VERY personal interest in her.

I love this series. I love how the author uses the actual traits of a leopard and infuses the character with them. That makes them a little more assertive/aggressive and they have a high sex drive, but that's the leopard world. And I love the leopard world!

Leopard's run is the tenth full-length book in Christine Feehan's wonderful Leopard's series and this book is one awesome roller-coaster ride. Timur Amurov is the brother and fierce bodyguard of Leopard's Fury hero, Fyodor Amurov/Alonso Massi. Timur is a man with one mission, to protect his family at whatever means necessary and he doe it with deadly precision. Timur has no hope or desire for a mate of his own, he plans to keep on going until his time is up...until he meets a woman he could never have imagined, Ashe Bronte. Ashe is a heroine of complex character and she is more than a mate suitable for Timur. Ashe has seen her own share of personal tragedy and while she is well-equipped to defend herself, she needs some help to bring down the evil monsters who destroyed her world.

As an old acquaintance of Evangeline's (Fyodor's wife and mate) Ashe turns up at Evangeline's bakery in search of a job and place to stay while she figures out her next move. The meeting between Ashe and Timur is electric. Finally, this battle and emotionally-scarred man (and his leopard) finds a sense of calm and peace that rocks their existence to its core.

It is the characters that make the Leopard world an exciting place to visit and it was fantastic to spend more time with the Amurov family again as well the introduction of some sinister characters, past and present. Another character that has become such a consistent and beloved figure is that of young, irreverent Jeremiah, a young leopard who is chomping a little to eager at the bit to prove himself.

This books has it all...action, shifters, assassins, compelling lead characters, and a sensual romance that just sizzles. Leopard's Run is one of those books that when you reach the last sentence, you just want to go back to the beginning and take that ride again!

Timur is a bossy one, it's his way or the highway, “sleeping with clothes. I want you naked when you’re sleeping with me.” Apparently Timur takes cooking very seriously, “no, this is mine. I looked at your pots and pans, baby, and I can assure you, they’re all ****. Completely. I have liberated them.” I loved this book, I liked that Ashe was fierce and Timur was a bossy man.

Love these Russian Leopards!

Timur, and Ashe complement each other in every aspect of their dangerous lives. Very sexy read. Timur's driving need to protect his family, and Ashe's deception cause a few problems in the beginning, but I love how Temnyy, and Godiva assist their human-counterparts in getting past their mutual distrust quickly. The life of a bodyguard/enforcer isn't easy, but Ashe understands Timur, supports him, and even adds her own protection to the family. They're both such bad asses! Trouble continues to follow Fyodor's lair, and all involved. I always enjoy the unexpected plot twists, betrayals from so many directions, and it really held my attention. I can't wait to find out how Drake, and Joshua handle some additional cleaning of their lairs. We get updates on several familiar characters in the Leopards series, and their babies. Wonderful read, and I adore those Amurov men!

Feisty heroine...check.

Dark dangerous hero...check.

Honestly, I was excited when I saw this had come out. I have always enjoyed the leopard people series...but maybe...the shine has worn off.

This was boring.

It had all the elements of a Feehan novel there...and this made it boring. For the last few novels I feel like I am literally reading the same characters over and over again. I think it's time to stop with a series when each one that is cranked out is essentially like the last. How many variations of characters are there in this series even? Small, long haired female with some sort of intense eyes. Tall, dark handsome male with a *dangerous vibe*. Heroine says she is *scared* of hero yet always continues to have sex with him because,, hormones?? Every single hero is possessive in the *exact* same way. "don't talk to other men...only me from now...some creepy sex things where they want the female pregnant and naked or some shit.

I mean it's fine. If you are able to tolerate a lukewarm plot and stereotyped, cookie-cutter characters for a shape-shifter romance (possessive male/feisty female), with plenty of *hot* graphic sex scenes (they are the same in every Feehan book, you are not missing much if you have already read some of her things), then this is the book for you. But if you are looking for something more in-depth, truly character-driven, developed and just plain...interesting....this is not that novel.

I love this Leopard people series! Everyday people doing everyday things but there are people trying to kill them! When Evangeline gets a new girl at her baker Ashe, Fyodor and Timur are not happy about it as someone is trying to hurt Evangeline. When Timur gets a look at her he can’t believe she may be a spy out to destroy them but when Timur leopard get near her he finally calms for the first time in hundreds of years. When Ashe explains to Timur why she came and that if it would harm Evangeline she would go but neither Timur nor his leopard would have that so they stay and fight together.

Protecting his family is Timur’s one purpose in life until he has to determine is Ashe in the enemy even though she calms the beast roaring inside him. Ashe Bronte can’t make any mistakes, but Timur has ignited something deep within her.

This pulse pounding and explosive shifter romance is wicked and wild with strong, bold characters that demand readers’ attention and refuse to let go. The romance between Timur and Ashe is hot and spicy as her inner leopard awakens but the relationship has a few obstacles to be overcome, some of which are emotional which brings these characters to life as it gives depth that readers can easily connect to and some of which are outside influences that cause lots of chaos and strife. Readers can’t help but fall for any of the Leopard shifters in this series as they are dark, alpha men with hidden depths that tugs at heartstrings and Timur certainly fits that description with a capital T while Ashe is a feisty and daring feline that has lots of appeal.

The Amurov brothers’ enemies are closing in from all directions and if they don’t discover just who they all are they just might lose not only everything they’ve worked for but those they hold dear and Readers won’t want to miss a thing during this fast paced and smooth flowing plot that is full of explosive action and thrilling suspense. The story is further enhanced as betrayals are revealed and surprising twists keeps the characters on their toes. Once again, this fascinating and pulse pounding series entertains readers and ensures that they want to re-read these books often.

This book was amazing !

I really enjoyed this newest Leopard People book. The characters were incredible. Timur and Ashe were a perfect alpha couple. Ashe was tough heroine. She could take care of herself. I LOVED THAT !!! I wasn't super happy with Timur at first because of something that happened in the beginning but he redeemed himself before too long.

I enjoyed the vibrant action, the suspense, and the sizzling chemistry in this story. Christine Feehan did a fantastic job on this book. Can't wait for the next one.

I am voluntarily reviewing a complimentary Netgalley copy of this book.

I think I've lost my reading bug when it comes to Christine F. I don't feel the excitement I did before. I believe some of that is because lately when I read her books all seem to follow the same pattern, endless inner dialogues and repetitive behavior of her characters, it doesn't change even if the series are different...sigh I'm bored of insta-'love' and endless sex scenes in her series, in this case there wasn't even some kind of prelude or courtship in their relationship they just get to the deed. I appreciate sexy times, I know they're mates, but even sex can get boring if you treat it like a daytime routine and like people couldn't live without it. I suppose I'll try with the next book in her Shadow series and see how I feel.

I enjoyed Leopard’s Run. It was nice to see a heroine who was a little more kick-ass than most of the heroines in this series. I liked Timur and the chemistry between him and Ashe was off the charts.
I found the plot a little weak. It moves the overarching story towards, but at times felt a little like certain things just happened to move the plot forwards.
Still, another compelling read I read in a day. Solid 3.5
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC.

I feel like Christine has returned to a deep focus on understanding the need and motives of her characters - all wrapped up in her classic unbreakable, uncompromising, unwavering love of Timur to Ashe. P.S. What a great name - Ashe Bronte Amuroz.

Enjoyed Timur and Ashe, they definitely complemented each other. I was close to giving up on this series but I’m glad I continued cause the last few books have been a lot better. Lots of action, lots of stuff happening, lots of new interesting characters. Lots of sex, probably way too much lol but whatever, when you pick up a Christine Feehan book you know what you’re getting. I’ll definitely read the next book, which I hope is Gorya.

This is Timur and Ashe's story. I think Leopards Run would have been much better if it were a novella and not full length story. Eighty percent (75%) of the book is very hot erotic sex. Which is interwoven in the story. Don't get me wrong I love a hot erotic romance story. But it at least has to have 50% storyline and Leopards Run did Not give me that. Every time we get into a dialog with Timur and Ashe or actions scenes it's interrupted with a sex scene. This caused me to loose the storyline. After the sex scene I would have to ask myself what happen in the last part of the story. That's not good!!

I did enjoy the bits of story that we got. I loved revisiting old characters from other Leopard series books. I really liked Timur and Ashe they are written well. I just want more story and a little less sex.

Title: Leopard’s Run
Series: Leopard People Book #11
Stand Alone Title: yes, but recommended in order
Author: Christine Feehan
Genre: Romance
Blurb: He keeps his emotions on a tight leash, but she can see the desire burning in his eyes...

Timur Amurov has one purpose in life: protect his family at all costs. With lethal skills honed from a violent upbringing, Timur is a leopard shifter who sees any newcomers as possible threats--and the petite blond barista who his sister-in-law, Evangeline, has hired to work in her bakery is definitely hiding something. While Timur still needs to determine if Ashe is an enemy, he does know that she is the only woman whose presence has ever truly calmed the beast roaring inside of him.

Ashe Bronte is well aware she has a type: sexy, gorgeous and dangerous as hell. Despite the fact that Timur is all those things and more, Ashe is in San Antonio for reasons that do not involve getting wild with a ruthless leopard--and she cannot afford to make any mistakes. But Timur has ignited something deep within her, and even though she knows she should keep her distance, every move he makes has her craving a taste...
Favorite quote(s): “I want you forever. Not for fifteen minutes. Not for an hour. Not for a day. It has to be forever.”
“I have a woman, stubborn as hell, and I would prefer her to tell me straight up she was staying, but she can’t do that right now. So until she can, I’m going to be a little out of whack.”
“My leopard claimed yours, Ashe. He isn’t going to let her go. We both know that. I don’t want to let you go. Me. Not my leopard. You’re the first thing I’ve ever wanted for myself. You’re the first time I’ve ever thought maybe I could have some kind of life. I don’t want you to go, not for my leopard or yours, but for me.”
Thoughts: “Her name is a joke. Ashe Bronte? That’s ridiculous. No one is named that. Maybe a f@#$%*g porn star.” -Oh, how quickly they fall….LOL Timur wanted nothing to do with Ashe in the beginning, and rather matter-of-factly was ready to get rid of her. Then again, Timur is an interesting character….I honestly didn’t like him very much in the beginning, but I pushed through and – while I’m still a bit conflicted with him – he had just enough sweet words that just got me that kept me from writing him off completely.
The leopard series by Feehan actually was my favorite by the author, however I was never very happy with the whole ‘mafia’ direction turn that this series wound up taking – “They weren’t good men and never had been, yet they refused to give up the women they loved.” While they are ‘bad boys’, they do have a code of honor – which makes it great for romance novel, not so great for mafia connections. I’ve read everything from mafia stories to motorcycle gangs, but the mafia thing just doesn’t mesh in these books in my opinion.
I haven’t really enjoyed the series as much since the mafia angle, but it’s still a good series. The saving grace is usually the female characters, and I really enjoyed Ashe, who was a heroine who kicked butt and took names – and with a creative ingenuity that made me love her even more. – “You’re so lucky, man. She’s a total babe. She’s a mankiller and that’s hot as hell.”
There was a small bit of repetitiveness that started to annoy me – for example, if I read that they mated ‘over, and over, every fifteen minutes or so’ I was going to scream. Yes, I got it the first time….I don’t need to read that every single time they mate in animal form. I usually don’t get irritated with little things like that, but it happened enough that it started aggravating even me!
Nevertheless, if you are a fan of the series, this will be a great one to read. If your new to the series, the earlier books are amazing and I definitely recommend reading them in order.

First, thank you Christine Feehan and Berkley for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and unsolicited. I really enjoyed this one. Yes too much detailed passion for me, and I tend to skip past those and hope and pray I don't miss something important that is shared in between doing the insanely detailed nasty bouts. There was so much heart, pain, family, loss and hope in this one. There were moments I ached with Timour, I hurt with him and wanted to cry for him. OMG towards the end, in the bakery when Ashe puts her hand on a cheek and just stares into the eyes of that leopard. Class, compassion and heart. Such a fine line they walk. Criminals trying to shut down the worst of them, needing the peace and love of their mates, and wondering how do they justify it all. Its a rough world, this book is for 18+. Drug trade, human trafficking.

The book contains a lot of sex, mating, sex, mating and on we go. In between we have the usual story of the bad men (leopards) who come by and fight with H. Fight sequences are described in detail but development wise, the story arc doesn't progress all that much. We have been seeing that Timur's Russian family are their enemies and some assassins came to fight with them but that's about it.
And yet I have given 3 stars; that's because Ms. Feehan is auto-buy for me and she is a talented author, who even without progressing the arc deeply and with the plot-line remarkably similar to what she has already written in the same series, manages to write an interesting story filled with action and high chemistry which translate to her trademarks; leopard fight sequences that are so descriptive that I felt I was seeing them live and leopard mating scenes.
I wish that Ms. Feehan would one day write a book where H and h take time before falling in bed together / setting up house and there is actually some story apart from mates and mating and leopard sex. I loved Burning Wild and Savage Nature the most in this series so far; they had real substance.
I felt this one was more filler book than anything else but it is worth a read. But bonus points to Ms. Feehan for including the preview of her next book; exciting beginning and am eagerly waiting for January 2019

Ashe Bronte is on the run. On the run from the evil that killed her family and is now searching to end hers.

She’s finally found refuge working for her friend, Evangeline. But even that will be fleeting if Timur Amurov has his way.

Ashe was a truly stunning woman. It wasn’t just her physical body – and that was gorgeous – it was the way she held herself. The way she looked him straight in the eye. She couldn’t cover fear, because he was leopard and could smell it, but she didn’t flinch away. She didn’t retreat. She sat very straight and looked at him. There was no panic, which meant she was thinking all the time. She held herself carefully, the daughter of survivalists, not giving anything away.

Timur takes his job as the head of his brother’s security team very seriously and the mysterious new girl behind the counter at the Small Sweet Shoppe is playing havoc with his instincts.

Not only is Ashe a leopard - she’s his long-awaited mate. Convincing her to stay and give him a chance to prove that he’s as capable of love as he is of murder is going to take time. But danger is closing in and time is something that they just can’t afford.

Timur was a difficult man. He would want to boss her. Rule her. She wasn’t that type of woman – or at least she didn’t think she was. She liked figuring things out for herself – mostly. She had to admit, she felt safe when Timur was close, and she hadn’t had that luxury in a long while. She couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be him. To have a mistreated leopard that was out for blood and demanded it day and night.
“Timur.” She whispered his name. Knowing she shouldn’t. Unable to help herself. She waited until his blue eyes lifted to hers. “You’re not a psychopath, nor are you what your father tried to shape you into. You’re … extraordinary.”

Leopard’s Run proves yet again that no one weaves a shifter tale quite like Christine Feehan! With all of the classic elements of romance and suspense, she mixes just the right amount of her paranormal magic into the mix to make it an experience that readers will feel in their bones.

Timur and Ashe’s story raises the stakes and the heat to brand new levels. And it will keep you teetering on the edge until the very end…

The Leopard series has always been one the harder ones for me to read, just due to their solitary nature. The men work together but after the job they pretty much go their separate ways and due to the lairs being so spread out it doesn't foster that family type atmosphere that is so present in the other series. However, Leopard's Run changes all that with the second family member in the lair finding the one. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a new read or that has read the Leopard series in the past. It can be read as a stand alone but reading Leopard's Fury will give you a better understanding of the primary characters.
Timur and Ashe are both stronger characters and this readily apparent in there first meeting, where her sass quickly is made apparent and he realizes that she is not what she seems to be.
Ashe is there needing help and when she saw that Evangeline had married, she hoped she had found the one that could help her avenge her parents. Little did she know that she would be finding something that she wasn't looking for, something that would give her more than she ever imagined
As Timur finds out more about Ashe 's past, he also had to contend with his Uncle's messenger arriving on the scene but is the messenger seeking the males or is the messenger there for Ashe. Lots of twists and turns, family secrets come out, family ties will be revealed. Leopard's Run

Review: LEOPARD’S RUN (A Leopard Novel) by Christine Feehan https://wp.me/p3d0RZ-aWh

This book is an intense addition to the Leopard Series. Timur is a dark and violent man, but Feehan managed to let us peek at the tenderness deep inside, which made him all the sexier. I loved Ashe. Strong, smart and capable of taking care of herself – especially standing up for her rights in the relationship. The final fight scene was one of my favorites and I wish I could say why without giving too much away. I enjoyed how their relationship grew. It went beyond the simple "mate attraction" and let their human half fall in love.

I’m a fan of Christine Feehan because each series has their own distinct tone. This series shows us the violent and dangerous world of these Leopards, blended with their intense erotic love lives. The beginning seemed to drag for me, but it sure made up for it, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Overall it was a sexy and pulse-pumping ride of a story.
