This comic is so cute. I didn't realize how badly I needed a kitty-themed comic in my life until I picked this up. Frankie is my cat. The obsession with rubber bands, the incessant need for cuddles (she spends half her day on my dad's lap and then sleeps at the foot of my bed at night), the begging for food. It was AWESOME.

The drawing style and sense of humor reminded me a lot of a more mature version of Chi's Sweet Home with a dash of Questionable Content. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if both of those comics are favorites of the author. Frankie was absolutely adorable, and I liked the afterword dispelling some myths about cats and advising people on how to adopt.

If you like cats, you'll love this.

* I received a free eARC from the publisher via Netgalley. The opinions in this review are my own.

This was SO cute! I'm not a cat mom but I do have a dog. While he doesn't climb on tables and whatnot a lot of these situations still rang true for me! Animals are so attuned to their owners and it really shows. They have a playful side and a roughhousing side. I will never forget a few situations my dog got me in and will forever cry laughing at them. This book felt like the author was reminiscing about when she got her kitty and all the funny situations that came with that decision. I loved that the comics were in full color and the art style was clean and relaxing to look at/read through.

If you're looking for some feel good fun and utterly cute adorableness, then Frankie Comics is for you!

I couldn't get enough of this wonderful collection. It's so sweet, cute and lovely. It was just what I needed to get through a rough day because it's just so fun. The illustrations are also utterly adorable and make for quite the story telling method. And it's cats, and I love cats!

I have had many cats over my lifetime, both my own and friendly neighbourhood cats that kept my company, so this book was WAY TOO RELATABLE. Frankie the cat mewing it's little heart out at all hours of the night to let you know it needs attention or food or nothing at all? Yep! Accurate. Frankie sleeping on the backpack instead of the cat bed? All the time!

I adored this collection of comics. It's accurate for any cat owner and it's just fun. It'll make you giggle, laugh and just feel good. I highly recommend it!

Five out of five stars.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I think any cat lover/owner will love this book. Although I don't have a cat myself I found a lot of it to be very relatable based on stories I've heard from cat owners. The art was cute and full of life, and each comic strip was packed with cute, relatable, and punny jokes. It's a fast paced read and overall enjoyable but nothing outstanding.

Sooooo cute! Perfect read for a sunny day off. I only wish there was more, seemed a bit too short.
Book also includes some tips for aspiring cat owners.

2.85⭐

I don't know what made me pick this book up. It might just be the desperation to add something to my read list. I could read this book really quick. It was a decent book. It featured everyday problems and stuff that cat owners face. The artwork was fairly attractive and catchy. Some instances made me chuckle, though. It was a good read.

I confess that I've been seduced by the cover, or to be more specific, the cat ...
I'm not a cat owner, but I heard a lot of stories from my friends, and I'm sure that most of them would find this comic relatable.
I needed something short and funny and I got it! I love the art, the "short story", all is just ... adorable!

This collection of comics about Frankie the kitty from Rachel Dukes is just so so sooooooo cute! Absolutely perfect little pieces of life with a cat stories. The art style is adorable & everything that happens with Frankie & her owners is so relatable if you, yourself, have experience with cats. I have 3 and every comic had me nodding, giggling, & telling my babies "hey! look! Frankie's just like you!"

I also love how the end of the book has tips on becoming a cat parent including online resources for cat cafes, adoption info, & places to donate or volunteer at to help other cats! highly recommend this one to any cat lover, 100%

Frankie, an expressive blue-eyed Siamese kitten, is found sleeping by the doorway of real-life couple Rachel and Mike. Instantly smitten, they bring Frankie into their home. Originally a webcomic published in 2012, author and illustrator Rachel Dukes documents life with Mike and Frankie through short, laugh out loud funny comics in full color that are just plain delightful. Featuring snack stealing, games of fetch (sort of), and lots of snuggles, this charming slice of life graphic novel will thrill anyone who has ever loved a cat.

This comic was an absolute delight to read!

As a new cat owner myself, the things that happen in the comic strips were ENTIRELY relatable, and I had a good laugh whilst reading it! I really enjoyed the artist's art-style, and I thought the cat puns were honestly hilarious!
The artist's relationship with her cat, Frankie, was absolutely adorable to see, and it made me want to pick up my own cats for a cuddle! (much to their dismay)
I'm looking forward to seeing more comics featuring Frankie in the future!

Would highly recommend to other cat owners as a short and fun read!

Frankie Comics is a very heartwarming comic book about a kitty cat named Frankie and her two owners' daily life routines and mishaps. It is so wholesome seeing how Frankie is such an adorable adventurer in the norms of her life. I never heard of this webcomic before but after reading this little comic, I had to search where to read the rest of Frankie's adventure. It's way too cute to pass up.

I would totally recommend people who have cats and don't have cats because why not. It's a very fast pace book given that it is a comic.

This was really cute! Frankie Comics is a comic collection written by Rachel Dukes about themself, their spouse, but mostly their shared cat: Frankie. The artist has a distinctive style of drawing, and I appreciated that they made it realistic in ways by including their armpit and leg hair, for example. The individual comics are short and sweet. When I read a comic book I would personally prefer it if it was one complete story, instead of a collection, which I also would be able to find on the author's Instagram. All in all, I liked this and would recommend you check it out if you enjoy comics about cute cats and their owners/parents.

This is a fun cat comic book for those who love cats. It's pretty similar to another that I read recently and it didn't do a whole lot for me even though I do love our family cats and appreciate cat humor. Cute comics, sweet story line, predictable cat stuff (peeing on things, not wanting a bath, being worth it, etc.). I requested an ARC of this book so my 8 year-old daughter could read it and weigh in too since she likes those types, but the format wouldn't let me put it on my kindle for her so I can't share her reaction. I suspect that she would have enjoyed it.

Thanks Net Galley for a digital ARC for review purposes.

This is cute. Very cute, and very cat like. Not a surprise, just an observation. All the cat shredding, all the cat barfing, all the cat peeing that cats do, all included. Lovers of cats will love this book. People who don't love cats will probably not get it.

Do I recommend it? Sure, as a cat lover. Most others would find it a bit repetitive. Cats, like kids, are only cute to their owners.

Another cat lovers comic. This one has a higher level of drawing than those usually do. The art was colorful and well done, after that well it all depend on how much you like cat, the humor was okay, but that was really light and not really for me even if I still do believe it will please some reader.

If you have a cat, or love animals, then Rachel Dukes' Frankie Comics will be extremely relatable. Adorable Frankie shows up on their doorstop and even though they're allergic, Rachel has Frankie come in. What is supposed to be for 30 minutes (a short visit) turns into forever. Rachel's art is wonderfully expressive. These slice of life comics have titles for each collection. Some stories span two pages or more, some are told on a single page, and range from Frankie getting a bath to finding a backpack more comfortable to sleep on than their new bed. Very entertaining collection.

**Reviewed ARC from Net Galley**

Frankie, the adorable Siamese cat is a cat found by Rachel and Mike and soon they begin their journey together in their everyday lives.

Full of adorable comic strips, Frankie Comics is a quick paced read, full of life and colour as can be expected with a cat. The comic strips are peeks into the life of a cat owner and all the fun and games which comes with them (including bath time, playing fetch and that ominous cat alarm!)

The art style is simple but effective, conveying the expressions of the characters well and adding to the overall fun of the comics.

This was an enjoyable read and is recommended to all cat owners and/or lovers and comic strip readers.

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher on NetGalley.

As an owner of a very crazy cat, I was eager to pick up this one and read about the adventures of another cat. Sure, a lot of the situations are pretty normal for most cats and examples of everyday life with a cat, but with the adorable art and full personality of Frankie, it was a joy to read. Frankie's antics are hilarious and heartwarming as she takes over her human's lives.

Anyone who loves cats or lives with cats will probably identify with a number of these comics. They are entertaining, quirky and full of love.

I loved this so much!

First of all the art style is adorable. The images are clear and the colours are well chosen so the images are well to look at and no confusion is caused.
The story line is very relatable to any pet owner. Getting a new pet with all the excitement around it. Getting it a bed, the food, having to bathe it, And many more scenarios. I loved that this comic wasn't written in one long plotline but rather short scenarios but together still making a story, I thought it was very clever.

I loved Frankie and 10/10 I would get a cat like him (If I could choose a cats personality). I think many people who have or have owned a cat will probably get to relate to a lot of the scenarios in this book and I think that's cute.

I loved it and I would definitely read more volumes if there were more :D

Cute cat comics, but a tad cliched. Heartwarming, but if you have a cat or have been paying attention to the internet for the past 20 years, there isn't much new here. But a good pick-me-up pandemic read.

I love my dog, I really do but I think she needs a friend. I suggested a puppy pal to her, it was met with a look of disgust, I suggested a kitten, she promptly packed her bags and left no forwarding address. I like the idea of having a cat but the reality is different!

Meet Frankie, an adorable ball of fluff who makes herself at home on Rachel and Mike’s doorstep and worms her way in to their home and heart.

I devoured this comic, the panels show all the ups and downs of cat ownership. The joy of snuggles, the pain of spending money on toys for them to ignore them, the lack of peace whilst you try to pee or use the computer and the constant meowing, meow, meow, meow at all hours of the day and night!

If you are a cat lover, you’ll love this, if you are a cold hearted cat hater, you’ll be converted. If like me you are on the fence about cat ownership you’ll be off the fence and off to adopt!

This is a very cute, all-ages comic starring a couple and their adorable and mischievous cat Frankie. I really wouldn't call these comics all that funny; they're more little slices-of-life of living with a cat that feline fans will instantly recognize and relate to, from cats taking your seat to cats sitting right in the middle of things you're trying to read.

I was very happy to see the end pages in which the author talks about cat adoption and welfare--too many people get a cat without realizing the long-term responsibility and cost involved--and was also glad that she specifically mentioned affordable spay/neuter and vet care, specifically directing readers to groups such as FixNation. I wish more cute pet comics would take this extra step of talking about pet care and welfare.

I absolutely loved reading Frankie Comics. It’s centred around a couple who stumble upon a stray cat that snuggles its way into their home and hearts.

It’s cute and colourful and such an all round wholesome read. There were so many things that made it enjoyable; its artwork, an adorable cat that could steal the heart of any cat lover, body hair positivity (um… yes!), the odd pop culture reference (I live for these!!) and a warm sense of humour mixed in with a bunch of hijinx.

Even my son came over to see what I was reading and started snorting with laughter watching Frankie the cat get up to all kinds of mischief. It’s funny actually because there were so many similarities between Frankie and my son that I’d have to argue that raising a child and caring for an animal really isn’t that different after all…

I’d recommend this gorgeous graphic novel for cat lovers and cat parents alike!

Many thanks to Rachel Dukes, ONI Press and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cute and relatable - especially for cat owner. Frankie gets into all kinds of feline shenanigans and her two loving owners play along. Jumping on the table, stealing hair ties, puking everywhere, chasing mice, etc. The graphics are good (although it's weird that the cat has no nose or whiskers) but each of the short comic series (they all are 2 to 4 pages long) are only so so. They aren't laugh out loud funny or ground breaking - they are just cute and okay. It's not a collection I'd read again and I would recommend getting this book from the library rather than purchasing it - it's good to read once, but I can't see anyone going back to it.

This is just completely adorable, it’s about a cat and her two owners/humans, I mean it’s about a cat so I was drawn straight away as most the internet will be too. It’s just so cute but also funny, it’s broken down in sections but I read it in one go because it’s so fun. A great book to pick you up and make you happy
