No matter where the watch hands turn, she’d rather remain home. But with every time-traveling trekker’s life at stake, can she stop a deadly clock?
Wilda Firestone survives off black coffee and white-hot sarcasm. And despite the colorful slew of characters filing through her time tourism costume shop, the retired First Nations Temporal Agent would prefer a quiet, more linear existence. So she’s less than impressed when a dying explorer crashes into her store, unleashing a plague that sends countless travelers to an early doom…

Knowing her own lengthy history of chronological excursions grants her some immunity, Wilda vows to jump back in the saddle and seek out answers. But as she retraces the dead man’s steps from 14th century Mali and into 12th century Scotland and beyond, she’s dumbfounded by whatever force reduced an entire village to blood.

Can Wilda stamp out the root of the sickness before she too succumbs?

Celtic Fairies, Fables, and Folklore!

Christy Nicholas loves all things historical, especially if it has anything to do with Ireland, Scotland, England, or Iceland, and she writes historical fantasy, travel guides, and a book on writing craft. Her tales tend to the gritty, with bittersweet endings, and she's never afraid to torture her characters. But there is beauty in all darkness, and she loves showing that, as well.

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is an interesting read and my favourite book of hers that I’ve read, so far. It is a suspenseful mystery, with sci-fi elements, time travel, history, adventure, drama, politics, intrigue…. And lots more. I am hoping that this book is the start of a new series.
Wilda Firestone retired from her job as a Temporal Agent and is now content to run her outfitters shop for time travelers. But things take a bit of a dire turn when a critically ill time traveller ends up on her doorstep. This results in a bit of a crisis and Wilda has no choice but to come out of retirement and set off on a quest to figure it all out and hunt down the source of the illness. Time is running out and there is much at stake. Will she get to the bottom of it all before it’s too late?
As usual, great world building by Ms. Nicholas. Her story is vividly descriptive and has a ‘visual’ quality to it. There were some areas that I felt were a little overly detailed and descriptive, a lot of time put into the smallest of details, which kind of interrupted the flow of the story just a little.
I liked having the glossary/pronunciation guide at the front of the book- it was handy to refer back to. The story covers a lot of ground/time- as the adventure takes us from Nth America, to Canada, Scotland, and even Africa. There is a lot of cultural influences in this story too- such as Native American Indians, and the Vikings- these touches added an extra interest and depth to the story. The historical elements were really well done too.
Mysterious and suspenseful.

Thank you, Ms. Nicholas!

Time Travel Medical Thriller

How fun to combine a medical thriller with time travel! I love the protagonist, and I so appreciate that the author chose to use an older one. In these days of the popularity of magical academies and dystopian worlds, younger people seem to be the stars the most often (and the older generations often the villains). I actually think authors miss out by not at least experimenting with older characters in novels. An author could give such a character a great background (more time for the character to have done cool stuff in his or her life), which can greatly really enhances the story as it does here. The times and places traveled to in this book were so fun to visit. It is clear that the author did some excellent research. I felt like the book was a bit repetitive in places. It could have used some tightening in general. But all in all, I found this book to be an engaging read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Decent plot but overblown language

I'm a huge fan of Jodi Taylor's St. Mary's series, so when TTOL showed up in my recommendations, I thought, "Why not?"

I made it through 44 pages and have decided I will not finish it. The story is interesting, especially the back story involving the US's 2nd Civil War and subsequent break-up, but the author's overblown use of her vocabulary is off-putting. I like big words, too, but there's a time & place for them - usually NOT in regular dialogue. I mean...if some person, obviously very ill, suddenly shows up in your office and you follow him to the hospital, are you really going to ask the charge nurse what "the nature of his pernicious illness" is? Come on.

I loved this book! A retired time travel agent, full of delicious snark and smart as a whip---like Judi Dench at full speed---creates the most authentic costumes for time tourists, but gets dragged back into the fold (and NOT quietly ;) ) when a rogue time traveler with a mysterious illness collapses on her doorstep. From that point, this book keeps layering on the mystery and upping the stakes until an unforgettable final mission. Meticulously researched and expertly told, I still think about this book all the time. i can't wait to read more from this author!

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is a unique and interesting read. It is set in a time where time travel is possible and anywhere and time you want to go to. It is a suspense mystery that also has a lot of history elements to it. The story Christy has weaved is very vivid that you can imagine all that she describes, sometimes a little too much information that sometimes I found myself skimming. The journey was interesting but a little slow for me and I found myself dragging in the beginning to settle down into the story.

Wilda loves what she does, which is providing authentic outfits for time travelers. She has long since retired from her previous job as a Temporal Agent. When a seriously ill time traveler stumbles into her shop, on the brink of death and asking for help, she is called in to once again help the Agency.

Join Wilda in her adventure back in time to where Norsemen and Vikings reside, Africa and North America where indigenous people reside and Christy gives a history lesson on those times and an adventure to boot.

I give it 3.5 stars

This is a well-told, fairly unusual story. Wilda makes a quirky, mostly-likable narrator. I would have liked more details about her husband and son because although the story was not exactly about them, the history of them was a huge part of who Wilda was. I also felt like the parts that did include them were bereft of some of the specificity and emotions that could have made them more impactful. Overall, I felt that there could have been more emotional punch to this story.

One of the things I found most amusing was only a small yet foundational part of this futuristic world. It is not explained in great detail, but apparently, there was some kind of US war which caused many states to split and become part of Canada. The remaining US states were a chaotic, theocratic dystopia. Also, a particularly dislikable, pompous character with no friends is described as someone who could leave the house with toilet paper stuck to her shoe and no one would tell her!

I wish I had good things to say about this book because I loved the concept and wanted to enjoy this story so badly, but unfortunately, that is not the case. I discovered this book a while ago and thought that the idea of the costumers for time travellers sounded awesome, but the idea was not executed as well as I wished it would have been. It felt like there was a lot of very slow build-up for minimal payoff; the perpetrator of all the problems was revealed almost in a rush at the end, with the reasons for her crimes seeming very trivial and being revealed so matter-of-factly that it felt like a real letdown. It also felt like not very much happened; there were travels to three separate timelines only for not very much to be discovered on each trip, which somehow all culminated very quickly into answers that had been hanging over the entire story for over 200 pages. I skimmed the last 80 pages, looking for something interesting or the end, whichever came first. Some of the phrases and "nicknames" only proved to sound ridiculous and became annoying with how many times they popped up, and though I hate to say it, some parts of this made it glaringly obvious that this book is self-published. Honestly, I'm rounding up to 2 stars from 1.5 for the sake of Goodreads. I really wish I could have loved this book.

Very well written! The (base) setting is Canada in a near alternative time (2027) where the US has dissolved from internecine issues, and other nations are not *quite* the same either. This is only alluded to in terms of the storyline - it is NOT a political novel.

The main character is wonderfully spunky and sarcastic. The other lead characters all bring something to the piece, and in only one instance did I think a character (who appears well on in the book) could have been slightly better drawn. (and that is meant as "slightly", it does not detract from the story or the excellent prose)

While a bit heavyhanded with the "clues that will be relevant later" in the very beginning of the novel, this writer has a deft hand with the plot and creates a very engaging narrative and story. The time-travel settings are very well done, and this author has made a point to get things correct (as much as is possible, esp with some settings)

Bonus the "mystery" and how it is solved is very adeptly done! (no spoilers..don't want to ruin the fun)

A contender for my "best of" for 2020!

in short.. stop reading my comments.. go read this book!!

I absolutely loved this book. This was a different kind of time travel book, but still intriguing. The main character is an engaging, strong, intelligent woman in her mid 50s. It’s kind of refreshing that she’s not fit and stunning. She’s short and somewhat overweight, but she’s not afraid to put anyone in their place with a withering glare or a sharp rebuke. She’s a former agent for a time travel tourist agency, who now finds joy constructing authentic costumes for their clients. Her methods for design and authenticity while making these costumes was fascinating. I loved reading about the types of threading, fabric, embellishments, and even the types of furs used, being that not all animals were native to every region.

I was already in love with this book, and then the story took a sharp turn. Our main character has to resume her role as an agent and track down the source of a possibly deadly contagion. I could not put this book down. The story wrapped up at the end, but now I’m hooked. I’ll definitely pick up the next book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Different and delightful

I am a big fan of time travel books and this is a lovely twist on that subject. Wilda, has already time-traveled...for a long time. Now she prepares others for that which she no longer chooses to do. Without spoiling another reader’s journey, a global emergency changes everything. This was a delightful “what if”. Being a person of advanced “experiences” I truly enjoyed taking this journey with Wilda! Highly recommend to fellow readers.

I got to advance read this book and it is a hoot! Wilda is a former time agent called out of retirement because of a crisis. She is irascible and owns a shop that outfits people for time travel. Get ready for a romp through time. The settings are vivid and the situations they encounter are tense or humorous and fascinating. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This is really terribly meh. The premise is good but there was really no drama. It was predictable and bland and the mc is ornery for the sake of being ornery. The other characters are all just cutouts. I got to the end and just thought, so.......... what? Is that it?

This was in queue for a rewrite as part of my plan to add clarity and in response to my now masked commenters' complaints of misspellings (fair point), disjointed writing (again fair point). That they should be so demanding of a reader in their personal evaluations when giving five-star ratings to science fiction best described as the work of untalented but enthusiastic eight year olds, puzzled me for two or so years. I imagine I owe them thanks for their input and here we are.

I require a step away before continuing. This was made possible by the YouTube channels - Doctor Who/They Break My Heart - RecklessGirl100, Leeja Miller, Red Glasgow, Sailing Melody, Book Furnace, OrangeRiver, The Bands of HM Royal Marines, ScaredKetchup, JuLingo, Answer in Progress, Biz, Widebeam and Wellingtons, Alizee, Dark Brandon, Ben and Emily, No Justice MTG, Female Warriors - Teresatessa, UATV, Aid Thompsin, Munecat, Fit 2B Read, Ro Ramdin, Jean's Thoughts, World Science Festival, Matriarchetype, Gutsick Gibbon, SK Media, Planarwalker, Keffals, Ben G Thomas, Turn Left, The Leftist Cooks, History with Kayleigh, TVP World, MSI -Songs Sped Up, May Moon Narrowboat, Narrowboat Pirate, Travelling K, EarleWrites, Ukraine Calling, Kyiv Independent, Philosophy Tube, DUST, Verilybitchie, Mercado Media, Fantasy and World Music by the Fletchers, What Vivi did next, Shades of Orange. I also watched Landscape with Invisible Hand, Carol and The End of the World, Mr and Mrs Smith, Ragnarok, Inside Job.

My usual Trigger Warning. Some Incels, Nazi, libertarian and similar seem to follow me still. One of my snowflake fanboys of the above bent whilst insulting a favoured essayist, complained to her that I list trans female creators. There must be something in the environment that allows some Americans and most Russians to survive as such unselfaware creatures. Be aware that there be channels above and below with creators who are Gay, PhD, Cis, Bi, Trans, Subject Area Experts, Hobbyists and more who are Female or as the sane refer to them -Women. Almost as threatening are the other Socialist, Redhead, POC, PhD, Anarchist, LGBTQ+, Communist, Subject Area Essayists and even Ginger creators or as the sane refer to them Human Beings. If accidentally exposed you must turn away immediately to not suffer cognitive dissonance, exposure to new concepts/ information or discovery that not all of us are beneficiaries of proud self-imposed ignorance. If exposed, I recommend an immediate YouTube search for Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Nigel Farage, Conservative or Republican Parties possibly followed by therapy, pastoral counselling or our Catholic exorcism. I feel much lighter for having satisfied my conscience. For my mental fanboys, GLORY To Ukraine! GLORY To The Heroes!

On to the book. The world building is well done and the descriptions of place and people in several time periods is wonderful. The book ties all the time jumps, the Temporal Agency branches and tech from all four eras together nicely. The tech is described well and blends into the plot seamlessly. The appearance of rogue portals and intra-agency rivalry is really grounded. It adds depth to the background world. Her prose is excellent, which you will not hear of many Kindle/Goodreads titles which are not literary fiction.

The description of the new North American political reality is both a welcome change and handled with a minimum of exposition. As it is described, the major characters are being drawn such that they give the world a lived in feel. It reminds me of the "Expanse" series. The characters and worldbuilding work well together.

The characters are front and centre as the story progresses, as opposed to the story driving them. It might feel a bit slow but only in comparison to typical current low end US print. As I write this, I realize that the plausible reality of a fragmented USA might be responsible for the lower than expected ratings. I early on began receiving reactions from comment "gangs" attacking me for questioning books centred on and driven by the USA as saviour of the universe theme. On only two reviews over more than four years of negative comments, were there ever a mention of the book in question instead of my imagined failings, etc.

Philosophy Tube does an entertaining episode on Active Ignorance and the work of Charles Mills. That which might seem plausible may be determined by the self-imposed ignorance of the reader. She, Mia Mulder and Munecat deliver serious educational value in all their essays. They were enough to spark in me a renewed interest in philosophy after many years away.

Suggesting more character development and less jingoism in my reviews, resulted in several cases of violent responses from "patriotic US" readers. I was called a "traitor" (?) by one strange, probably (hopefully) mad teenaged boy on an early review of a badly written science fiction for objecting to my hundredth or so story which was in fact an ode to American wonderfulness. It is funny that while I have never saluted the Stars and Stripes, They do not either at this point. They proudly fly upside down flags, flags overlaid with an unattractive, old man and a number of flags publicly proclaimed to be insurrectionist, including Confederate flags which I thought were at least universally considered opposite to the patriotic. Of that I am not certain any longer, though not watching much of US commentary have not seen any outrage, scandal of whatever to be clear on what is now patriotic in America. I have only seen anything similar on news clips of Russian Putin rallies. Britain is drowning and even independent commentators do not reflect the urgency of change of course, yet I can not myself imagine a union flag with Charles overlaid hanging from a shop front. Two of those Goodreads intellectuals actually wrote comments exposing my Narcissism in not engaging with them. To be stupid and living in America must be liberating.

One agent character falls in love with a past time woman, who is a lesbian and/or trans woman. It was handled naturally and only avoiding timeline alteration was an issue. Well done. The writer brings three disparate cultures to life, while reinforcing the dangers of altering the timeline. There is one seeming flaw in the main character's personal history. The stated time between her last agency jump and the story's present seems a bit too long. I will say no more. The book is definitely an entertaining read. I am hoping that there will be a series.

I wish that more of Amazon selections was as good as this book but sadly few are. I watch more than read science fiction at the moment, courtesy of attempting to read Amazon/Kindle/Goodreads recommendations. The streaming services offer better written stories or least decent cinematography than the low end print science fiction. I began searching YouTube almost four years ago now for science fiction commentary. I found that and all manner of other special interest channels. The best surprise was discovering the book channels which are both numerous and varied. 😍 They manage to cover all the topics that a book lover considers as important and/or interesting. The reader communities are thoughtful, curious and best of all are enamoured of all things bookish. I recommend a visit to several st least for any reader. Many of the channels can also be found on Nebula, which is a fantastic creator centred site and value for a modest monthly fee.

About Goodreads discourse. It is a dangerous fiction. There is no meaningful exchange to be had on reviews of romance or science fiction on Goodreads by design. The site did not envision the current financial purpose of the site which is to direct readers to selected writer and story types. That power in turn gives Amazon advantages in negotiations with publishing houses for fee arrangements per book sold. It also indirectly gives Amazon influence on selection of titles by which they can direct the actual types, themes and quality of writing generated in all genres should they choose to exercise it. That is a scary prospect.

About three years past, I wrote a short negative review of Powers of the Earth by Travis Corcoran, self-described libertarian and advocate for the return of chattel slavery, US veteran, employee of an unnamed US agency and admirer of Putin's Russia. He seems the perfect description of the MAG(got)A champion. I would assume that he has perused the 900+ page Project 2025 book, if I imagined him literate. I wish not to be unfair but I did begin his book and the evidence is to the contrary. The book advocates for a popular theme in low rent US fiction (libertarian/White Nationalist), that is the overthrow of the government because taxes on the right sort are immoral and the military must be corrupted to aid that endeavour. The patriots were outraged by my communist😇 opinion that Powers and its kin are dangerous and unhealthy. For years I had maintained a certain dislike for the word, concept and connotations of "irony". Now as I watch these monkeys prance, I have begun to develop a new appreciation.

For almost a year I received pages of comments demanding that I challenge the claims that chattel slavery in the past and indeed the present was/is a social good, that millions of their fellow brown citizens (perhaps slaves to be is more accurate) should be deported Jamaican plantations, "Objectivist" thought is the highest expression of political philosophy (Claes Rees Jr aka cgr710 now ka Clayton R Jesse penned that frightening opinion with only the absolute certainty that he has not bothered to actually read that insane protofascistic drivel mitigating the horror of that view), the role of government being limited to maintaining the well-being of the wealthy as only they create value and consequently are valuable, poorly understood economic history and more. I was labelled a narcissist for my refusal to engage beyond a polite send off, which in hindsight and with a better understanding of these fellows I should have led with a "F@ck off idiot". Speaking to Americans can only be successful if their idiom is adopted.

Claes wrote a final comment on which he grandly declared that They had "won" (?). The Victory was a deluge of vile racist and sexual attacks on every channel which I listed and scanned. The physicists, the hobbyists, lifestyle reporters, historians and other female creators were neither impressed nor silenced. The world's overabundance of unpleasantness was certainly increased and an eerily accurate self-portrait of the twisted American Snowflake (Trumpist, White Nationalist, Nazi, Libertarian, Republican, all of which are a set in a Venn diagram) determined to silence the sane and anyone connected to them no matter how tenuously in the Name of Their rightness, Their freedom of speech, Their nationality, Their patriotism. USA, Yay?? Goodreads, Yay ??

The behaviours above are the same but it seems much more common in the romance, fantasy and romantasy readership. Same beliefs, same patterns even to real life confrontations of one star reviewers and of course the death threats against that reader's friends and family. These commenters always appear in the case of reviews suggesting that parts of a book include problematic racial, gender or other identity representation and overt racist, misogynistic, Ethno-supremacist as well as other anti-human elements. I only now realise the coincidence. The only connection which I can see immediately is the American, which could not be relevant because as All commentators and mainstream media constantly repeat, the USA are the only country or culture which have never been racist, non-inclusive, unfree, imperialist or those other bad things. I must give this some thought.

My YouTube picks of the moment.
Red Plateaus, Mia Mulder, Philomena Cunk, Munecat, The Nomadic Crobot, The Templin Institute, Engineering with Rosie, The Juice Media, Brandon F, 2Cellos, Narrowboat Pirate, Art Deco, Kazachka Lily Simpson, Agro Squirrel Narrates, Vlad Vexler, Emma Thorne.

As for Amazon/Kindle/Goodreads, I urge you to consider treating this site as potentially hostile. 😐

Ominous music begins. 😊 These awful behaviours of writers (Some attack groups are encouraged and led by writers) and their fans are reported regularly by BookTube with no corrective action taken by the corporation. Amazon, KIndle, Goodreads have not nor it seems will ever acknowledge the existence of these dangerous trends in the Romance, Romantasy.or science fiction membership. No discipline have been directed against writers, members or the employees who enable them.

This is an important example of the extremes to which a loud minority (hopefully) will take Their vendetta. Apparently the Travis Corcoran above was able to transmit a favour request to Australian Security Services to interrogate the one friend whom I occasionally messaged on Goodreads for my personal history. The attempt failed and left a very angry Aussie and a very angry self in its wake. He is done with his government and disgusted with Amazon. My understanding of Amazon's twisted profit policies and the thugs hired who support any mass of satisfied brain dead customers. Romance, Fantasy and Science Fiction readers are not brain dead, though these genre
titles are publisher chosen to feed pap to a majority of the audience. It is as if limiting
the imagination of readership, is the goal. With working class whites in Britain and the US seeking approval from private school sociopaths and blindly following positions which they know are not and can not be in their own interests, I am sad to admit that it is working. Especially damaging is when Kindle selections are fed to teens and younger
as the limits of what can be, may change life courses of those who already possess the least agency. Think of Harry Potter's house elves who are Happy to be slaves and whither away if left to their own devices. Think of Romance novels wherein a young girl will only be happy when she is abused by some big male. Imagine some boy raised in Ethno-supremacist literature picturing reality as America under Alles, with non-whites grateful for their third class status. There are consequences for others as well as ourselves, when we do not speak out. Think of the White Nationalist riots in England and the MAGA poor excusing a wealthy man because he promised to make the lives of others unbearable, which will automatically make those of the cult better.

If the corporate response does not frighten, the dominant site culture does not shock, the values exhibited and the indifference generated does not scare you, skip the rest of this page and have a good day. You will also probably be dissatisfied with any of my reviews.

If you should currently not be targeted, good on you but realise temporary immunity rests on the whims of truly unstable individuals. I recommend several precautions. Remove any friends who never post, they are monitors not admirers. Remove all personal information from Goodreads profile and avoid use of Goodreads messaging. Kindle like Goodreads are not secure. Avoid Files, Calendar, Email and Contacts. Imagine what might have been, had I not employed these rules from the outset. Screenshot the odd and the ugly as Kindle/Goodreads are apparently not required to answer complaints or even queries but do enjoy Altering customer's pages. I Never forget that these animals, employees and members alike are positively mental, lacking in any non-Randian morality but above all are Americans. Ominous music ends. 🙂

Be well. May we all find Good Reading. 🤗

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. by Christy Nicholas should be my ideal read.
Almost no romance, older female main character, banter, humour, adventure, and tome travel!

While I did enjoy the book overall, sadly for me it didn't live up to its potential. I did like the main character, but I didn't really click with her as fully as I'd have hoped to. Some of her snappy attitude just didn't resonate with me, like these usually do. There's also a very tragic backstory for her, which is a mystery for most of the book, and we only learn what actually happened late in the book. That scene should have been a real sucker punch emotionally, but for me it didn't really carry through.
It might have been international, to keep this a more fun and easy read, but with the set-up we had, it felt a bit disappointing to me.

The adventure and banter were still fun to read, and I liked the mystery angle about a strange illness that needs to be uncovered to be able to find a cure. So even though this won't be a favourite, I don't regret reading it, and was quite well entertained.

It took me a while to get into this story line. I thought the first few chapters were clunky and hard to buy into. However, the story picked up (and I thought the writing did too), and I enjoyed the book. Don't expect high literature, but it was readable and fun.

I, of course, loved Wilda, an unusual protagonist due to her age and stature.

A great read about urgency. Wilda just wants to live her life running her outfitters shop for time travellers. But life seems to have other ideas for her when a time traveller collapses in her shop due to a mystery illness. The contagion spreads to every other Temporal Agent who has Travelled recently and Wilda finds herself and her team as the only ones unaffected. Pulled out of retirement, she and Mattea Travel into the past, following three men for a cause of the illness. Can they return to the present with answers before its too late?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. Well developed characters like Wilda sarcastic and stubborn but caring underneath or Mattea kind and naïve but stubborn underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the supportive friend Tarren or the condescending Lady Xanthippe.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the Temporal Shifter with its brass and copper and steam like something out of a sci fi novel strange and antique but with a sense of beauty and wonder. Or the scenes in Mali with the desert and the impressive palace and its caravans, full of life and colour and people wit the animals and the vibrant dress colours with sights and smells and sounds so vivid its as if you're actually there, wonderfully written.
I loved the idea behind the story of the outfitters shop for time travellers, fantastical but realistic at the same time and wonderfully written. A wonderful example of world building with the Temporal Agents living alongside other humans with their own rules and laws and customs clearly explained to the reader and wonderfully thought out tot he smallest detail, a lovely touch. I also liked the use of the past, with historical figures and cultures given the respect they deserve. I also loved the use of pronunciations at the start of the novel to make the names more easier for the reader to understand, a lovely addition. I also liked the sense of mystery throughout with the disease and the three men, with details revealed slowly to the reader, making you want to keep on reading to find out the answers. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

I give Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. by Christy Nicholas, 5 stars. Wilda is a retired First Nations Temporal Agent. She used to do a lot of Travelling, but now she is content with her little flat, her cat, and her shop. She is too old for the adventure anymore. All that changes when a very ill Traveller collapses on her doorstep; she is forced back into doing what she hasn't done in ages. With her assistant, she must go back in time to figure out what is causing this strange disease. Will they be able to find it? If they do, will it be too late?

Wow. I have read other books by this author, but this was something completely different. Wilda is a great character, she is sarcastic, speaks her mind, is addicted to coffee, but smart enough to get her and her assistant out of some tough spots. The secondary characters are great too and if we are lucky enough for this to become a series, I hope to see more of them. The story itself is fantastic. You can tell the author did plenty of research to make the eras and time periods as realistic as possible. At the same time, she keeps it interesting so even if you are not big on the specifics of the time, you will still enjoy it. Plus there is the mystery element of who or what is causing this disease.

I could not put this book down once I started. If you are a fan of strong female main characters, time traveling, and adventure, this book is for you.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. by Christy Nicholas is a wonderful book that includes adventure and time travel. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself reading far into the night to finish. It is a book that is entertaining and very hard to put down. I loved reading about the character of Wilda. She is a retired Temporal Agent who now clothes those who travel to the past. She is a woman who is intelligent, strong, and stubborn. Wilda is also a woman whose life is haunted by emotions and memories. When a Traveler literally falls on her doorstep she finds herself returning as an agent. He is deathly ill. Along with her assistant and best friend Mattea, she must travel back in history to find the pathogen that is now claiming lives so that a cure can be found. Will Wilda and Mattea find the pathogen? How much danger are they in? They go to the past, what about their future? Read this book to find out. I loved the way that this story has so much detail. I felt like I was right there with Wilda and Mattea when they traveled. The story is emotional at times. There are heartbreaking moments. There is humor and sarcasm as well. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing and unforgettable characters. I highly recommend reading it.

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas was a unique fun read that had me hooked from start to finish

Not my first read by this author, so I knew going in that I was in for something well written, original, entertaining, and fun. I was not disappointed in the least. This book pulls you in from the start, with that witty cold open, and the taste of what these time tourists are.

I think my favourite bit of this whole story is that the MC is an older mature woman, who gives no -anything- (keeping it PG here, but you get what I'm saying lol). I loved her within seconds, quick witted and just hard as nails, I want to be this woman's friend. This story has many elements, different times and heavy with detail. You can tell care and research went into making this as much as journey through time, as well as keeping it an engaging story for the reader. There was so much that kept you reading and kept you guessing. I loved every minute of it, and with each new layer pulled back, and the deeper you got, you almost become apart of the story yourself.

Overall this book is worth your time, energy, and it's worth talking about. So please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval that, you will be captured by this tantalizing one of a kind read.

Happy Reading

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is a mysterious read. If you are a fan of sci-fi and time travel this story is for you. Christy Nicholas has done an amazing job going back and forth from current to past with regards to time period information. Hopefully Christy Nicholas writes more stories that can be an extension of this book. The way Ms. Nicolas describes the scene make it so easy to gain the picture in my mind’s eye. I felt immersed in the story and could easily relate to the characters and what they were going through the story. The fact that there is a Temporal Agent, Wilda Firestone called out of retirement to assist in this case. She was full of spunk and her sidekick has an attitude is what is needed to help stop the murders of fellow Temporal Agents. Will Wilda be able to stop the murders? Will time travel ever be able to do so? Only time can tell by reading this story.

This was such an unusual but fascinating read. I have read many books by this author but this one looked a little different so I wasn’t too sure about it but it was a really good read. My interest was kept from beginning to end and I loved the unique storyline. I have only recently started reading books about time travel but it seems to be a genre I’m really getting into and so I loved that aspect of this story. As I expected the author attention to detail and beautiful description really added to my enjoyment of the story, she always brings the scenes to life and I love the characters that she creates. I loved Wilda; she was such a great character to read about. She was strong willed, witty and definitely didn’t put it with any funny business!
Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd was an intriguing read that I thoroughly enjoyed! I definitely recommend it to other readers!

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. By Christy Nicholas. One of the best things about this author is that I love the uniqueness of her stories. While this was wildly outside of my reading comfort zone it didn’t hinder my liking this great story. Not my first read by this author and I definitely won’t be stopping as long as she keeps writing. I love the adventure I’ve been taken on in this story. From page one I was drawn in and knew I was in for quite the ride. The characters are complex and well written with a storyline that comes alive before your eyes. The author takes time to get even the smallest details in. If you’re looking for something a bit different and unique this book is just what you need. Five stars and highly recommend.

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is a unique and interesting book. Once I had started reading this I could not put it down.
This author certainly specialises in writing stories set in years gone by and she has done another effortless job this time. However with this book she shows that she has the skill to cover a range of decades easily while keeping the story fresh.
I loved the whole premise of the story. It’s not quite like anything I have read before which made it more exciting to read. The characters were interesting and fit well with the story the author has created. This is a brilliant book and it has to be my favourite one from this author so far.

"Where's your ideal? Where would you go if you could go anywhere, anywhen??"

Such is the way this story starts. There are rules in time travel and if they are broken, a chain of events can happen to alter things beyond repair. While this is an age-old trope, there are new twists to the telling which made it fresh. This story also had a bit of humor in a few of the more "flagrant" characters.

At times the story was a bit over descriptive yet it didn't take away from the "meat" of the story. This is a full bodied story that provides suspense as well as world building for future books in the series.

I will be keeping an eye out for future installments by this favored author.

The agents need Wilda to go back out into the field as an agent and try and uncover what is causing this illness in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
