ARC review fro DEBBIE CASSIDY

URGH Debbie - what did you do to me- this was too short I wanted much more of this book. More more more more !
The MC shows growth emotionally throughout the book, and goes through such emotional roller coasters ( no spoilers here friends sorry you should read this book) that her emotional growth I hope is expanded on in the last book. But I devoured this book really really quickly and just loved that it jumped from action to action and yet - the romance and connection was there!
The MC still has a GREAT DEAL to learn about how to be a knight but she is well on her way to getting there.
This series connects on with the nightwatch *ghost of a chance* - I would highly highly recommend reading both - you don’t have to to understand either series but it expands the universe which just makes reading so much better.
I was really loving the plot inside the plot (make of that what you will 😉) that was so imaginative and unique !
*swoon* ogres/trolls are the new ware wolves /vampires.
The harem is SLOW building in this but this book def gives us a bigger picture. :)
Debbie this was a total win

Cliffhanger ending. One more book & the series is done. I highly recommend this series.

Rant:
Who ruined the cover art?!? Wtf is wrong with the bottom half of the cover model’s body? It was fine in book 1. In book 2 she lost her hourglass figure & they slimed her down oddly. It became significantly ill proportioned in this book & in book 4 it’s gone to hell in a hand basket. Why mess with a good thing? It was perfect in book 1 now they’re shrinking her thighs & hips making her boobs odd. Is the goal to make her look like a blow up doll? Hot mess.

Wow things are really heating up and secrets are unfolding everywhere. My question is why has no one questioned the "status quo" all this time, and what the heck is Orion's deal... Hes coming across super skeevy. War is coming and the mist isn't going to stop it. As Indigo and her remaining team scramble to put together some sort of defense, more questions are answered.

I'm loving the relationships in this book. They aren't perfect, there is a lot of back and forth. They just have a real factor that just makes since. Even the newer guys, and the guys that aren't in the "harem" have great relationships with each other and the FMC. All the characters have great chemistry. Indigo really comes into her own as a leader in this book, and boy does she not take any shin!

Can't wait to see the conclusion of this series!

I never thought this series could get any better! Debbie Cassidy has created an amazing world that includes some of the best characters I've ever read. The MC Indigo continues to grow and mature personally, magically, and in her duties as a (soon to be) Shadow Knight.

Secrets are running wild in the Academy and very few answers are being given-who can Indigo trust because it seems like the most untrustworthy people are her superiors. No spoilers here though you HAVE to read the book! The book picks up right where the second one leaves off, so we are thrown right into the fray once again. Indie has to battle with the the upcoming year 2 trials, the continuing battle with her emotions when it comes to Hyde, and also coming face to face with her feelings for Brady and all that it entails. On top of all this her father has been taken and no one is giving her any answers. A new ally comes into the picture and starts to form the harem idea in her mind and we feel the dynamic starting to fall into place.

As I said before the characters are all strong beings that all offer something different and form a unique bond that grabs your heart. Brady has really come into his own and we learn more about him in this book then we have in the past. The whole time you are reading the books your heart strings are being pulled and tugged in all sorts of directions. This book will have you on the edge of seat the whole time-you can easily be lost in this world and believe me you do! This world would definitely be one that I would want to be a part of happily!

Noooooooooooo.

Stop it with the cliffhanger endings, NOW.

I am ugly crying. That ending sucked.

First Thomas.
Then Harmon.
Now Carlo??

*cue the tears*

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT??

Everyone is losing their shit.

LUNAR CREEK???
That whole plot twist was terrifying.

Are you kidding me??

I nearly cried at the end.

This book was just weird.
First half was shit.
Middle was fucky.
End was just catastrophic at best.

I’m so sad and angry.
The only one who got a happy ending was Larkin.
Good for him at least.

😭😭😭😭😭

WHYYYYYYYYY??

I’m too emotional to write a proper review on this shit.
I still loved it though

And lastly, FUCK YOU HYDE.
Team Brady
Team Kash
Team (please let this happen) Lloyd

That is all. Next installment better answer some damn question.

This series is back to the awesome form of the first book. I adored the first, but found the second slightly jarring, mainly because I loved Hyde in the first and he really disappointed me on the second.

The pace is relentless, but there is still time for those quiet moments of relationship development. I'm always impressed with how much Debbie manages to pack into the story, yet still not make it feel rushed.

Things develop nicely with Brady, and Hyde is seriously tormented in this and appears to be trying to do the right thing, but his and Indigo's situation sure is difficult.

There's also a new potential Harem member who is sort of obvious from. Book 2, but I really loved him a lot, and their scenes were some of my favourite. They have awesome chemistry and he proves how loyal he is to her.

So we have face paced plot, sizzling chemistry, heat, character development, tragedy and one hell of a cliffhanger. What's not to like? Apart from maybe the cliffhanger, but I can cope with it!

Shadow Warrior picks up without missing a beat from the previous book. Indigo and the rest of the cadets are still processing everything that happening and then, boom they get more thrown at them.
Let's take a moment to appreciate Brady and how perfect he is for our girl. Because he's turning into one of the best book boyfriends ever. Sighing now
We get to know more about Kash and what he might mean to the dynamics of everything. I can't wait to find out more about him
Ok, I don't know how she does it, but Debbie Cassidy packs so much into these books, that once you start reading you can't stop until you are done. And then you get to the cliffhanger on this one and keep hoping that there's just one more chapter or page. I really love this book and this series and can't wait for the next adventure

Shadow Warrior is the third installment in the Nightwatch Academy and I was so engaged I read it straight through in a couple of hours - this author's writing is so fluid, fast-paced and entertaining it makes you feel like you are watching a fantasy/paranormal/action TV show. It has the side effect of feeling like things could have a little more depth/development, but I know where to go when I am in the mood for that kind of in-depth story so instead I enjoy it for the breezy, popcorn reading experience it is. I was happy with some of the progressions made in the romance department (and I love, love the angst of Archer!) and was pretty shocked by the happenings toward the end - definite cliffhanger material - but Ms. Cassidy publishes relatively quickly so not long to wait for number four now.

I’ve been reading this author for a while, and I generally like everything I read by her. This book, the third in the Nightwatch series, is no exception. Indie is trying to deal with the disappearance of her friends when one is found. But there are secrets being held by the administration, secrets that could change everything. Indie is such a fascinating character, and I love her. Her men are interesting, too, but I find her the most interesting. And, in this book, there are some interesting developments, both in the plot and in side plots. I think the next book is the last one, and I’m not sure how all the threads are going to be resolved, but I am definitely looking forward to it. Highly recommend!

A lot happening in this book.

This went from pillar to post, throwing in quite a few subplots. However the climax of the book was very tension filled (for this series), and sets up a cracker of a final book - which I may stay up until the wee hours of the morning to finish my binge read of this series.

A lot of character growth for Indigo. Hyde is still being a d!€k, and Brady is a sweetie. We’ve mostly left the academy behind and I’m hoping that Minnie might get her memory back, and Fiona and the other horrible characters like Indigos parents, get their just desserts.

Argh these cliffhangers. Started this morning and finished same day

This one must not have been too long. The story as a whole is ramping up. I love Brady I love how kind he is even if he’s a bit gruff. I want to see who Indie all ends up with. This one though is a build up of what’s going on in the mist. So many twists and turns I’m not sure who is causing what, and who is right I just suspect there’s a lot going on we still don’t know about. I want to know more. But that ending man....rough.

Lord Jesus, this series is delivering. I honestly did not expect this.

This is actually polyamory, but I'm having a great time. But I won't lie, the cliffhangers are no calm slopes. No, this is a plateau straight into the fucking Mariana Trench. These cliffhangers are that abrupt.

But I'm loving it.

And I'm out.

4.5 Rounded Up

Book 3 picks up where Book 2 leaves off; just shy of the upcoming Trials, with cadets missing, a taken father and relationships up in the air. Just another day in the life of the first female Shadow Knight Cadet... right? For Indigo, it surely seems that way. Life won't give her a break, and this book just proves that fact with every page. Mysteries are revealed, alliances made, romances decided (almost) and the true threat is slowly starting to emerge.

I love watching the growth Indigo undergoes from Book 1 to this installment. Her journey has been fraught with danger and enlightenment, both of her powers and of her innate self. She is not who she thought she was, but neither, it seems, are those around her. Foes are now friends, once friends are foes, and things are just getting more complicated. I'm eager, but a bit nervous, to see how this wraps up in Book 4!

**I was gifted an ARC of this book and am thrilled to give my honest opinion**

Pros:

~ Well written.
~ Plot is tight, even if the ramifications are far reaching (there is another series, The Nightwatch) which bleeds into this Universe. Doesn't really overlap.
~ One character, The Head Weaver, from The Nightwatch series makes a (brief) appearance!
~ Brady... I want to keep and hold that Orge. Hands off.
~ Indigo is growing stronger and (possibly?) a bit wiser.
~ That cliffhanger... did NOT see that coming!
~ Finally get some real heat in this one!!

Cons:

~ Hyde. I love him. I hate him.
~ Felt short.
~ Some events just hurt my heart.

My Final Verdict on Shadow Warrior

I love Debbie Cassidy's Urban Fantasies... but I love it when she combines that genre with Reverse Harem even more. This series smacks you, dares you and invites you to stick around, all while introducing a new Universe I have a feeling we'll see much more of. It's fast, thick with action and just romantic enough make you smile. Free on KU!

OMG talk about a rollercoaster ride! This series just keeps getting better and better with each book and this latest addition is just WOW! Carrying on from book 2 the storyline is more intense, fast paced and action packed and the characters continue to grow as we find out more about them and their relationships develop. There’s so much going on that when you come to the end you keep looking for more cause you do not want it to finish especially on that cliffhanger! Tons of emotions ( yes there were tears!) , tons of action including the hot and steamy kind, I just cannot wait to read the next book!

This book was too disappointing. The book if full of people she cares for leaving her or dying. All of a sudden several of the characters act out of character. Don't get me started on how tired I am of the hero Hyde. Then there was that part about weavers prison being a T.V. show.... this book was all over the place and made me loose interest fast. One moment the heroine looses someone then the next she is fine and putting on dresses? I know this is fiction, but how the heroine acted is too unbelievable.

This was a phenomenal book! Every single book just get better each time and I have yet to be able to put a book down once I start reading. This is such an amazing world to get lost in and its easy to fall in love with each of the characters in this book. I cannot wait to see where this all goes with the final book.

Book three and still going strong.

Indigo continues to change and grow with each installment of The Nightwatch Academy series. Her harem is doing the same. It is very slow burn, but growing and evolving at a steady pace.

The ending....uggh. Why did it have to end there? When will book 4 be out?

Excellent story

This tale has a nice twisting story of mistrust and magic combined with romance. I think it has enough intrigue to follow up into a good climax for the series.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED! So much happened...yet, not at all.

This book has two distinct plotlines; Indie's relationship with Payne and the shadow knight/ relationships plot. I had really enjoyed the shift to focus on Indie's weaver heritage and learning more about the secrets of that community. It was refreshing especially the Lunar Creek concept. Once Indie gets back to the academy, the plot takes a 360 turn. It immediately follows the shadow cadet journey focusing on her trials, relationship with Brady and Hyde. Independently, the plots was brilliant and refreshing but looking at it's cohesiveness its an ehhhhh

I really enjoyed getting to know Kash! He was charming and confident, knew exactly what he wanted and went out to get it without an unwavering heart unlike some other guys *cough* Hyde *cough*. I can hear some of you scream 'Brady' but, he acted distant and withdrawn so I was started to get annoyed. Hyde...you are doing my head in! I'm kind of sad that Kash hasn't had the chance to interact with Team Lloyd.

Disappointed

Disappointed. Maybe I'm wrong when I think that people wouldn't share as easily as books like this always make it seem. People are jealous, envious, etc. This is one person, and honestly I don't get why everyone thinks she's so great. Seemed like they all liked her randomly.

I also hate when it's one sided. Yeah, I can have all these dudes, but you're Mine and Mine alone. That's not fair at all, and I doubt it'd be like that. The only person the situation was understandable with was Kash because that's how it apparently is in the weaver community. So, I accept that, but then other people even risking their lives and going so far out of their way to be with her when she's already with someone? I can't see that being a thing.

I really liked the books before this love triangle truly became a thing, but, unfortunately, I won't be reading the rest. If that type of thing doesn't bother you, or if you even like it, then you'll probably love these books. They're very fast reads and interesting. Gets 3 stars instead of lower because of that.

4 Quietly Shitting Myself Stars

Shadow Warrior is the third installment in The Nightwatch Academy series by Debbie Cassidy.

Okay this series is officially making me a angry. This is some fucked up red wedding type shit. So many dead people. So much heart break. It’s getting unbearably frustrating the longer it persists.

Can Indigo be happy with one of her men for more than just a blip? I’d really appreciate that. Honestly, this is starting to resemble Cassidy’s Deadside Reapers. This is your shtick? Emotional and total mental frustration in the face of every imaginable obstacle in the path of a lovely HEA.

Still too many questions regarding the fomorians, and the violet eyed man who’s name escapes me. How exactly are they breaking through the mist now? Are their opposing forces in the fomorians? Is violet eyes just a religious zealot, or is his goal truly beneficial for all?

Also weavers are seriously sadistic beings. Enslavement, banishment, greed, entitlement. A hefty concoction, bound to inflict pain on those in their scopes.
