By far the best Artificial Intelligence book is "Otherland" by Tad Williams. It's not even on the list :T

Hmmm, I love Tad Williams, and glad to see someone added the book for voting (the books I added when I created this list really were just to kick things off... and my goal of being recommended more great AI books to read has been very successful ;) but while Otherland had some awesome ideas, I felt like Tad was being an AI-tease all the way through the whole thing :P
The first book was a little unfocused. The promise of finding out what cool stuff was going on behind the virtual world/AI was what kept me going, but we barely learn anything about it until the final book, and even then I was left wanting more. It was like he teased us with the promise of cupcakes throughout the whole thing and at the very end he FINALLY showed us a freaking awesome cupcake - and then ate it in front of us while laughing maniacally :P It was .hack //sign all over again (animated series about an AI running wild in an MMO). DAMN YOU DOT HACK SLASH SIIIIIIIGN! DAAAAAAAAAMN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!
Then again, Silver Screen left me desperate for a sequel, but at least I got to eat the cupcake :P And Justina Robson only tried to fit one book into...one book. Tad seemed to want to squeeze about 30 into 4 ;)
That said, I started the first book 10 years ago, so I am a little bit hazy on details now. I should probably re-read the series so I can look at it with fresh, foreshadow-y eyes (but guys, have you SEEN my to-read list? *cry*)
I did enjoy the series, and I'm still really impressed he managed to tie up what must have been, what, 10 plotlines? More? But for a series revolving around an AI, there really wasn't enough AI-focused scenes for me :/ Whereas The Also People was like Ben Aaronovitch rang my doorbell and handed me a plate of never-ending cupcakes that cured cancer.
Why yes, I am kind hungry? Why'd you ask?

I think the robot/android books should be separate. I understand that they are AI books, but they seem to dominate the list. I'm looking for a incorporate AI book list with computers like Hal, Mike and Jane(I think that's her name from Ender's Saga). I love a book with a good super computer!
I just read the WWW.Wake trilogy by Sawyer and it had a really great AI, Webmind. Send me a message if anyone has any suggestions.

I know a few but I'm not sure you'll find them interesting considering that they're most focused on romance...

I've removed Flowers for Algernon.

Hi there,
I'm looking for a novel similar to the show "Person of Interest" or AI. Female and male protagonists that are adversaries at the beginning but become allies (friends, lovers whatever). Preferably the characters should not be younger than 30, so no teens.^^
(Just read D. F. Jones Colossus anything in that direction would be fine)
In short:
AI thriller akin to POI (Person of Interest TV)
adversaries -> allies
characters (f/m) should no longer be teens
Thanks in advance for your help, hope someone has a recommendation for me.
Cheers :)

I recommend my own novel End Man (released October 11, 22), which has many of the ingredients you're seeking. Check out the premise and the reviews on my page, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
