Yes. This is based on John Carpenter and Debra Hill's screenplay (with an intro giving some bonus insight into the origin of the curse on the Myers family explaining why Michael embodies evil this time around). I read it back in 5th grade when it came out, and wish I'd got a copy a few years ago before it was such a hot commodity.
