It doesn't matter for 3 retired college professors ladies who are meeting for a drink and for planning to murder eight or maybe nine their age guys who deserve it. Revenge is served cold, of corse, but in this case, it seems too cold already.
This short story has a charm in it and I enjoyed it....more

As with all Fred Vargas books, this one has some mystic flavour, historical details, humour, twisted and unexpected events.
I didn't like it as much as other Fred Vargas books, but it is not a bad book. Could be that the problem is that I read five books in a row about Commissaire Adamsberg. I am going to read one more and promise to take a break after this....more

TAnother brilliant Fred Vargas book about Commissaire Adamsberg where he meets Dr. Ariane, a pathologist with whom he crossed paths twenty years ago. They start working on a strange double murder only to end up catching a serial killer.
Commissaire Adamsberg is as usual very intuitive and unpredictable. We see him in the book as a father. He bought an old house with a ghost and a strange one-handed neighbour. A new detective joins the team bringing with him an old secret and a desire for revenge. Also, we can say that a lovely cat also becomes an important part of the team.
I couldn't guess who the killer was till near the end.
The book is very enjoyable and gives us a glance at the history of witchcraft too.
The book tells us about Wahington Poe and Tilly Bradshaw solving a murder case in a very illegal way, but very effective. TThis was a VERY good read.
