Anyone who hears him speak for an unknown measure of time will start hating him for know reason at all, so Al uses a text to talk application for most interactions. The second curse involves his apprentices, all have died, the seventh one choking on a raisin scone. So Al and Buck Foi, a hobgoblin contracted to work with Al, are on a quest. But they also need to deal with the Morrigan, an Irish death goddess, who has come back from the dead last book and decided to change her profession. Then there is Nadia, a battle seer and co-worker at Al's print shop. She and Buck are in the process of bring the deity Lhurnog into being which could have big consequences. So Al has his hands full! It is interesting how Kevin Hearne is working on bringing all the Iron Druid characters into a more peaceful state. This volume provides a good closure to this series, but I wonder if he will every decide to continue writing more tales set in this universe with other characters. I hope so!

But I am glad that I picked up this volume and finally got around to reading it. Volume 32 has a varied collection of stories by known and unknown authors. Some of the stories are in the same universe as in previous volumes or novels by the authors, others are stand-alone tales. My favorites (yours are likely different) are "A Librarian in Distress" by Rose Strickman, "Women's Work" by Pauline J. Alma, and "Expiration Date" by Julia H. West. That said, I enjoyed all the stories. There was a nice mix of comic and serous tales, some historical fiction along with possible post-apocalyptic fiction with a soup-con of horror for flavor. But don't take my word for it, read the book and enjoy! ...more

Only this time it is Oberon twisting in the wind sTake a very, very uptight lawyer, add in a chance for only 3 wishes, and watch the squirming begin. Only this time it is Oberon twisting in the wind since Kelly Clarkson specified exactly what the wish should be with exception clauses and no loop-holes for tricky Fae to create mischief with. But all is not peace and good cheer! Nope, the animal waste has hit the proverbial fan when politicians try to horn in and love enters the fray. Will Kelly Clarkson manage to get exactly what she wants with her 3 wishes or will Murphy win again? An enjoyable fable nicely done. Not often do you get to see a lawyer as a hero! Also nice to have a helpful librarian along!

He sucked me into a very strange London where Peter Grant, Nightingale, and the Folly crew need to stop a killer before she kills again! The problems just mount up as a death in the London Silver Vault leads to a torture victim in an apartment and then attacks on others. There is also the issue of Lesley's warning and appearances and the fact that Peter needs to wrap up this case very soon since Beverly is about to give birth to twins and he needs to be present, or else! So a very fun addition to the Rivers of London series that brings Peter new headaches and joys.
