I get that this book was written in the late 90's so it IS old but like even by those standards, there were some really...old-fashioned ideas in this book. That didn't particularly detract from the mystery. It also made me want to get back to my cross-stitch project, which is a shame that I'd left it at home....more

What I forgot, apparently, was how bad the narrator was. The narrator could give William Shatner a run for his money on how many random pauses one can take in any given sentence. As is "desired" for a book like this, I did figure out whodunnit shortly before the protagonist did. If I read anything else in this series, I have to remember to read with my eyes....more

I just didn't need to listen to narration of steamy scenes. Other than those parts, the book was a fun little sci fi book that sets itself up well to be the first in a series. There never really felt like there was real trouble for the team or any real conflict but it was fun to see the spaceship and see how a certain theft was done. I'm glad that S&L picked it to get me exposure to the book (it's certainly not one I'd have ever found or read on my own) but I don't think I'll continue with the series....more
