I quickly went into the second book, wondering how Ophelia and Kain’s relationship will progress.
Well, it’s like the first book and now Ophelia is with Ryker. I don’t really have a connection with him, so it was hard to jump into THAT storyline. Also Ophelia’s POV was non existent so it was hard to follow her at times.
There’s also Ginger, Ophelia’s care taker, and she was hard to follow to since she was a new character.
At the end of the day, I think the author has trouble in building up new characters. I honestly only wanted to read about Kian and Ophelia and their interaction was only about 30% in the book.
Not sure how the next book will go, but I basically skimmed most of this one. I’m going to take a break for now. ...more

You really don’t know which person she will pick. In my opinion all three guys didn’t seem so great.
It’s not a RH so get that out of your head. She is just confused on who she should be with. The main storyline isn’t about the two brothers (even though that is what is mentioned in the blurb).
It’s about Ophelia deciding what she wants to do. She was held captive by Kain for some time and it changed her.
Now she’s with Max and it doesn’t seem like she has freedom.
I’m moving on to the next book since the reads are so easy to read. ...more

I am in the minority with this review and it PAINS me to say I didn’t enjoy Buckled since I loved the first book, Knotted so much.
I didn’t have any expectations for this book, but I will say I wasn’t excited for the Heroine since in the last book I knew she was a reporter and I generally don’t like reporter type of story.
So the big problem with this one for me was the “secret” storyline. I CAN NOT STAND this storyline. I JUST finished a book with a “secret” storyline and so I went into Buckled with a bad mood already. I don’t like it when the Heroine has something about her past that she wants to say, but she can’t and we read the WHOLE book before we find out.
The thing that makes it worst is that she keeps on mentioning her secret. This is another pet peeve of mine.
I like Jarret a lot. He’s a lovable guy and even though he’s a man whore, he’s still great.
It just sucks that I hated Maybe and what kind of name is that? Gah I hated her name too. I felt like she strung Jarret along and the whole (view spoiler)[year of him stalking her was just sad! I can’t believe he spent a whole year stalking her so she could come to terms with herself. I wanted to slap her (hide spoiler)]
I thought the kinky scenes were hot, but I felt l no love for the Heroine so it all just fell flat for me.
Another thing I liked was that the author didn’t re-hash the first book. THANK YOU for that.
I’m VERY excited to read Lorne’s story because he has been in jail this whole time and we HAVE no idea what his personality is. It’s all a mystery to me. ...more

Well, isn’t this the little gem I found. The Protégé was written really well, engaging and some what kinky. I loved every minute of it and thank you goodreads for helping me find this author.
When I started the book I got a little nervous because the two characters, Laszlo and Isabeau had history and something happened. I didn’t want to read a angsty book, but this wasn’t!
The book is mostly in the present, but there are some flashback chapters and to my surprised I really loved the flashback chapters because there was a reason for each chapter. The author wrote with purpose and there were no filler pages.
Laszlo finds Isabeau when she is little and notices she will become a great cellist with proper education and training. Laszlo is 17 years older than her and is a famous composer. I love the theme of the book! I love the music and I love how much the characters love music.
The relationship between Laszlo and Isabeau is intense and oh my gosh reading it was addictive. I was devouring the pages trying to figure out what will happen. I really love the relationship between the two main characters and I love both characters on their own.
They care for so much for each other and it truly shows in the book.
There is some kink in the book and I think it only made the read better.

I was really surprised on how much I enjoyed Beyond Eden. I hated the cover and it had somewhat lack luster reviews, however, it exceeded my expectations and completely hit the MMF spot for me.
Yeah I was in a MMF mood and I wanted a story where all three characters loved each other, I got that and more.
I wouldn’t call this a series. Beyond Eden is a standalone and it’s a massive novel which I enjoyed every bit of. The other two books are different times in the couple’s relationship.
This is a story about three childhood friends and their very complicated relationship. What made me enjoy this book so much was the character development. Sure, it’s smut and mostly it’s steamy scenes and kink, but I really liked all the drama. It’s not a simple love story, it’s about different forms of love, different forms of kink and I love that everyone loves each other.
I was sucked into the writing and sure some parts were a bit more descriptive than I would have liked, but overall, I loved the dialogue and the characters. It’s really hard for me to like all the characters in a MMF novel, usually I favor one over the other, but I can say, everyone was great.
Eve and Paul were lovers in high school, but she left Paul to obtain her dreams in New York. It’s ten years later and she’s back. Paul and Danny are room mates, but could it be more than that? Also, what kind of person is Paul? And What kind of person is Danny now? Could they open Eve’s eyes to a whole new world?

Claimed is a great book for beginners in regard towards BDSM books. The book was written in 2013 and it was very much relevant during that time period.
I’m not sure why I pulled this one out. I guess I was just thinking of all of the BDSM books I use to read and well, I felt like reading something mild, slightly steamy and just something I didn’t have to think too much on.
I think this is my first Stacey Kennedy book and I was really happy with it. I had low expectations because it’s an old BDSM book, but it had everything a BDSM book would have.
You have the overbearing DOM, but he’s nice and plays nice and gets the girl off. You have the naïve and very innocent Heroine that doesn’t know anything about that lifestyle. Sure it got a bit repetitive at times and there was a lot of descriptive and inner monologue I kind of skimmed through, but it was a sweet and easy read.
The key word is EASY. I like easy books when I’m in the mood for them.

So I was in an erotica mood (don’t lie you get into them too) so I found this book one of the lists. I liked the cover and it has a loose Beauty and the Beast theme to it. Plus, it’s on Kindle Unlimited so why not?
Beast met my expectations and more. It’s a smutty book, but it’s a full length novel with a good storyline. It had everything I wanted in a cheesy romance novel. There’s a damsel, there’s a brute of a Hero and plenty of steam!
Ellie’s father owes money to Ash and Ash is going to kill Ellie’s father. Unless Ellie can get Ash to let her father go. Why doesn’t she just trade herself instead? And she does. Ahhh… the feels this one gave me. It’s a cute book with slightly dark undertones. Not dark, just a serious book.
Few things I loved about this book. The writing style! Most of the book is dialogue based and it was really fast and the pace was perfect. When you start the book, it’s like bam, we get into the heart of the story, no fillers in this one!
I love the tension and chemistry between Ash and Ellie. There’s not insta-love, just a lot of insta-lust and thank you please. Ash doesn’t know what he wants to do with Ellie, but he does know he wants her as his play thing. I liked that Ellie stands up to Ash and it provides great tension between the two of them.
My only problem is that the author doesn’t many of her books on Kindle Unlimited. Gah! Why? I’ll just have to wait for the next book in the series. But I think I found a new author to add to my smutty read list. ...more

This was not my favorite book in the series, but I didn’t hate it. Look, I have been binge reading this series for the past week. I think I’m overdue for a different book to break up my Nora / Knightley / Soren drama. As much as I love the trio, the angst is getting to me.
I liked The Mistress but I found it to be a filler book and not in a good one. I didn’t expect Nora to be kidnapped for such a length of time. I think I needed some Nora and Soren fix. I’m starting to see that Nora and Soren don’t really interact in this series unless it’s through flashbacks or in this case story telling.
Nora is kidnapped and while she bides her time she tells stories, stories of her love affairs and what she knows. It’s nice to get a little more detail in Nora and Soren’s relationship and of course Nora’s take in Soren and Knightley’s relationship.
During this time, Knightley and Soren plan in how to get Nora back, and of course they have different opinions.
Grace comes to play in this book, remember she is Zach’s wife and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I felt like she wasn’t needed, but her story wasn’t too bad, a little boring since I don’t have any feelings for her, but okay I get it. She added pages to the story.
I did however like Soren’s niece in the story and I found her adorable and very innocent.
Also, where does Wes fit in all of this? Well that is answered as well.
I did read this book in one sitting and I couldn’t put it down, but I was disappointed with this book and I think it’s because I have been binge reading this series. I didn’t want a slow pace format and I’m sad to say this is the last book in the Red years. The next book will be about Nora as a submissive, but we do get glimpses of what’s happening in the present.
All and all, I’m slightly disappointed but I still love the series. I think I will take a few book breaks for now. Something less angsty. ...more

I felt like this was a filler book and you know what?! I don’t care! The story is told in three parts, There’s the Present part with Nora and Wesley and the Present part with Soren and Kingsley and wait for it… the past part with Soren and Kingsley as children. I KNOW!
As much as I dislike Soren and Nora separated, I really enjoyed each parts of the book. It was a little angsty, but the good kind of angst. The kind that kept me glued to the pages dying for the next chapter. I think at one point I woke up at 1AM because I couldn’t sleep and I kept on reading.
I felt like the parts with Nora and Wesley a little slow and tame, but I enjoyed their banter a lot. I love the way Nora and Wesley talk to each other and as much as I don’t like a younger male and an older female, you can’t help, but love Wesley. I was really nervous about his story and I wondered where the author would take him. I’m glad he got his part.
The big revealed in the last book was that Kingsley and Soren were lovers! You think it was a one night thing, but no, it was a full on affair and I loved getting the bits and pieces in figuring how Soren and Kingsley came together 30 years ago.
As you read throughout the book there is someone who is kind of causing trouble. We saw bits and parts of this in the previous books, but it’s really apparent in The Prince, so in the present parts, Soren and Kingsley go down memory lane and try to find out who is causing so much trouble. Who stole Nora’s file? Who wants to cause trouble for the three of them? I loved reading Soren and Kingsley interaction, because I had no idea how Soren felt for Kingsley. Soren is so closed off and guarded with his feelings, it’s nice to see a different side of him.
Overall, this was a filler book, I mean, not much was revealed with substance, but then everything was revealed, if that makes sense. I felt like the book left at a part that just made you dying for more and I can’t wait! ...more

Sadie was kidnapped when she was younger and that left a lasting impression on her. Today she’s a criminal profiler which can make or not make her job easy.
The book started out with a bang and I was curious about Sadie and her personality. I wanted a complicated Heroine with a damsel complex and I wanted someone to save her from her past pain.
Colton works at an adult club and he’s really good with ropes. I like Colton, I love it when a hero is lusting after a heroine and I couldn’t find any faults in him really.
I liked the parts where Sadie was trying to find the killer and it’s very apparent that Colton is not the killer so get that out of your head.
What I had trouble with was the two separations in the book. One side of the book is Sadie’s work, trying to get into the killer’s mind and going to crime scenes and the other half is Colton, where he plays with her. I really did wished the two would meet. As much as I liked reading about Sadie’s job and how she works, I would have liked some Colton to be in there too.
So it did hinder my experience a bit and I found Sadie’s job kind of dragging the book down a bit. I wanted more of a romance story and because of that, I won’t be jumping into book two anytime soon, but I plan on reading it. ...more

K. Webster books are messed up. I thought I read messed up books, but this one. This one is hands-down MESSED UP and you know what?! I LOVED IT!
This Isn’t Over, Baby is the third book in the War and Peace series. This book focuses on Gabe.
I liked Gabe in the first two books. I liked him a lot, not as much as Warren, but pretty close. Gabe is a unique character, he has done horrible things, but he’s passionate. He’s also very passionate about his daughter, Hannah.
Gabe has watched Hannah grow up from the time she was a little girl to now as an adult. The thing that I enjoyed about this book was that there were no rules. Basically whatever crazy messed up thing K. Webster could think of, it kind of went into this book.
We get glimpses to Gabe’s past and he kind of explains why he is the way he is. I still think he’s a bad guy, but I still like him as the Hero in this book, or I guess I should call him the anti-Hero.
But Gabe meets his match with Hannah and what a character she was. I was taken aback by her and I didn’t expect to read the things I read. She’s as crazy as Gabe is and probably more so. I really enjoyed how much Gabe and Hannah complimented each other. He seems to be her Ying to his Yang. I couldn’t imagine a better pairing.
I love K. Webster’s writing style. It’s a no fuss, no muss kind of writing. Everything has a point and there are no fillers. I felt like I got a well-rounded and messed up read. It was exactly I was looking for.
P.S. Love the cucumber and Daddy references, it wouldn’t be a K. Webster book without those.
P.S.S. I’m still holding out on hope that K. Webster will write another book with more Baylee and Warren. They are still my favorite couple.

I SUPER love this series, if you don’t believe me then read all of my reviews. There’s something about the writing, stories and the author that gets me fangirling every time I realize there’s another book out. I never want this series to end.
This is Meagan and Luke’s story.
To me, The Exposure is a little different from the other books. I found it lighter with less steam and more angst. I kind of enjoyed the change.
Meagan and Luke were once lovers. It was short lived. Years later Megan and Luke are talking to each other again. Luke is a photographer and is working on an artsy BDSM book. Meagan was his model previously and he wants to use her again.
Meagan is a little jaded and she doesn’t want to work with Luke, but when someone threatens her and puts her in a sticky situation. Someone called the Taskmaster is making Meagan do things she doesn’t want to do.
I love a once lover kind of romance kind of read. Because the characters already established a relationship and so there’s so much tension that it makes a juicy storyline. I’ll be honest and stay I’m not a fan of Meagan being threaten by this Taskmaster because it ties me up in knots, but at the same time it makes me glued to the pages wondering when the shoe will drop.
I also like that Luke is into photography and they have these steamy photo sessions. This is a submissive series so you need some steam and Tara Sue Me never disappoints. Meagan is a switch meaning she can be both dominate and submissive, but Luke doesn’t allow Meagan to be dominate and I liked that.
Overall, if you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed.

You know when you scroll through your Facebook Newsfeed and there are advertisements, well I saw one for Passion and Venom and I thought what the heck, let’s try it. I one clicked it, not knowing the storyline or the author, but only that the book would be dark.
When I started the book I knew within the first page I was going to love it. Right away I loved the writing style and I liked where the story was going. As I kept on reading, I kept on looking at my reading percentage wishing it wouldn’t go up because I seriously didn’t want the book to end.
If you are like me, you love dark books. I’ve read hundreds of dark books and kidnapping is one of my favorite plots, but they are a dime a dozen. However, Passion and Venom is so good and so interesting, you will be blown away like me.
Gianna is kidnapped on her wedding day and she watches her husband get killed. She doesn’t know why she is kidnapped but she knows her husband was the target and she is the baggage that comes with it. I really liked the beginning because it hits you with a bang and you get into the heart of the story.
Gianna is not your regular damsel. Yes, she’s kidnapped, but she puts up a good fight and the crying is to a minimal. I like a healthy balance of awesome strong Heroine, yet a little broken and a little in pain and ready for saving, she fits the bill to the T.
Draco is mean, nasty and ruthless. I have read books where the Hero is pretty tough, but Draco takes the cake. I really loved to hate him. He’s a complicated man with issues. He’s strong, powerful and very successful. Men are scared of him and women want to be with him and he knows it.
He sees something in Gianna, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to change and give her hearts and candy. If Gianna is going to be staying under his roof, then she needs to play by his rules or there will be consequences.
What really worked for me is that this book isn’t your typical dominate / submissive type of read. There wasn’t cheesy dialogue or predicable storyline. Everything was meant for a reason. The tension between Draco and Gianna is wicked hot. The steam was off the charts and I gobbled it up. T
Usually I would say this book is not for everyone, but after reading it, I’m going to say it is. If you like dark books, you will love this one. It has everything a dark reading junkie like me loves. It has a twisted alpha Hero, a strong, yet damsel Heroine, a twisted storyline that will continue to keep you guessing.
I loved this book. I have a major book hang over and the only complaint I have is that the author has NO RELEASE date for book 2. I’m going to cry.
PS. I went to stalk this author after I finished reading Passion and Venom and I realized I read one of her earlier books and gave her a low rating. It just goes to show that you should NEVER give up on authors. They may blow you away, even if it’s two years later. I’m going to grab another book by her now.

Addison is your typical nose stuck in a text book college nerdy girl. Her main goal in life is to become a doctor, she does not have distractions, but for ONE NIGHT she wants to let loose and have fun. So, she goes to a frat party.
This is when her life changes.
Luka is the boy she has had a crush on since she had class where he was the TA. He’s graduated years ago, but he’s at his brother’s frat party.
Luka and Addison exchange some flirty banter and then they head upstairs.
The book begins really sweet and innocent, but it’s written well and you can’t but help but feel that something is going to happen. When Luka and Addison first meet, you think it’s a typical college meet-cute, two good looking people finding each other and getting the flirt on, but so much more happens and that’s when things spiral out of control.
Luka is not a nice Hero. I would say he could be considered a villain and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love to hate Luka and I hate to love him too. I was really conflicted with my emotions towards him and it made the read so much more. I liked the emotions Nikki Sloane made me feel. I didn’t know if I was suppose love Luka or punch him in the face.
Luka battles with his emotions towards Addison and it’s not always in the best manner. It’s pretty harsh and abrasive and you wonder how far he can push Addison and believe me I wanted him to push and push.
“Luka would consume until there was nothing left, I was sure of it. The fire between us burned too hot to last, but I’d do my best to hold my ground until the bitter end.”
Addison is sweet, innocent and it’s adorable that she has a crush on Luka. It makes it so much more tragic when she realizes he’s not what he seems and well she has her own conflicting battles. The book is in Addison’s POV and I loved that. I felt her pain, I felt her issues, I wanted to hug the girl and lift her up when she was feeling down.
“How could I be responding to him, even a little? Shame stormed through me.”
“I had dipped my toe into the dirty pond, I jumped in was eager to get filthy.”
What I really liked best about this book is that it’s simply about Luka and Addison. The characters are really developed and the chemistry is really hot. This is one-hundred-percent a new adult book with plenty of steamy scenes and kink to make any romance reader happy.
Sordid blew me away and I’m definitely a Nikki Sloane fan. PLEASE write more dirty dark books. This dark junkie needs them!!!

Sweet Jayne is a standalone and it’s dark, twisted and very intriguing. You will be questioning the book from the first to last page. It’s a mixture of suspense, mystery and romance. Yes, there’s romance. I went into this book blindly, but the premise is the perfect summary of the book. There are three players involved, Kasper, Donovan and Logan. Each man provides his own unique taste to the read.
-Donovan-
Nadia is a seventeen year old girl and her stepdad is Donovan. Her mother recently married and Nadia doesn’t know what to make of this. Donovan is a mystery at first. We don’t understand his motives, but we know for a fact he feels something towards her, good or bad, we don’t know.
Nadia then witnesses her best friend being kidnapped and that is the start of the book.
Nadia is never the same from that day forward and its ten years later.
-Kasper-
Kasper is the brother of the girl that got kidnapped. He’s a cop and he knows Nadia was the only witness to his sister’s kidnapping. He was to blame Nadia for it too, so he has pure hate towards the girl. The book is written from both Kasper and Nadia’s POV. Kasper isn’t the nicest guy and you kind of shake your head at him because of his hate towards Nadia. She was seventeen when it happened! But his feelings are his feelings and you question what role he plays in the book. He continues to seek out Nadia to get closer to her and plan his revenge.
-Logan-
But Nadia has a really protective fiancé, Logan. Logan and Nadia’s relationship is a BIG mystery to the book. We don’t understand what they have, but we know for a fact it’s anything but typical. Logan is cruel, mean and really, I was addicted to reading about the relationship. I couldn’t get enough of it. Why does Nadia stay with Logan? Why does she let him hurt her? So many questions go through my mind.
What really sold me on this book was the great writing. Usually I don’t like a huge secret throughout the book because there is one, but I didn’t really focus on that. I was too consumed by all the characters. I loved all the men in the book and for different reasons. I guess you can say I loved and hated some of them. I love a dark twisted hero with complex flaws and the author really delivered on that.
Nadia was also a mystery to me. At times you think she is weak, but then she isn’t. At times you think you understand her motives, but you don’t. You also get glimpses to her past with flashbacks and it makes you see her in a different light. It was always a mind trip.
It’s a crazy story and you are on the edge of your seat the entire ride. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here are some reasons why you need to pick up the submissive series, you can start with the first book like me, or skip around, maybe even start with this one, but let me just say, you will not be disappointed.
I love this series because it mainly focuses on the D/s lifestyle. I know you are probably thinking, well there are a lot of those types of books out there, yes, but it’s all about quality. I love Tara Sue Me books because it’s not always about the steam, don’t me wrong, it’s VERY nice, but I really like how she develops the characters and creates a story that is not conventional and completely addictive to read.
This is Sasha’s story and I REALLY enjoyed this one. I like her story because she was a submissive, but because of a bad Dom/sub relationship she is left battered, bruised and scarred. You know I love my damsel in distress storyline right? I like that Sasha understands the D/s world and there is no explaining, it’s just her and her emotions and her trauma.
Cole is a character I have been intrigued towards for a very long time. He’s Dominate, controlled and knows what he wants. When he’s asked to help Sasha with her problems, I couldn’t wait to dive into the relationship and see what forms.
The chemistry between Cole and Sasha is crazy awesome. She’s very timid and Cole is very distant. He understands she’s a wounded animal, but he’s only focusing on getting her to overcome her fears, they are not to get into a relationship relationship where feelings are involved.
I love the tension, but I also love how warm and caring Cole is towards Sasha, yes he’s a Dom and yes there is BDSM, but there’s also affection and respect. Gah I could go on forever on how much I love this series. I really do think you should give it a shot. If you are a newbie BDSM reader then this book is PERFECT for you. Tara writes more on the tame and mild side, which is great for new readers.

If you are a fan of Monster in his Eyes series by JM Darhower or the Kane Trilogy by Stylo Fantome then the Bleeding Hearts series is for you. It has an impossible love story with an alpha passionate Hero. The book was dark, steamy and very very very addictive.
When Brighton was sixteen she meets a stranger who claims to be her brother’s best friend. After a stolen kiss she doesn’t see the man again… until five years later.
“Because looking into the depths of those blue eyes was like free-falling a hundred stories. It was the ultimate high and I would do anything for it”
The thing that really hooked me in the story was Ryland, the Hero. The author does a great job in building up the characters. Ryland came out a bit mysterious and I was just greedy to find out what his story was and what did he want with Brighton. He was cold, detached, controlling and my perfect man to read!
“This was the devil himself snaking his way inside my heart and bending me to his well. This was addiction quickly morphing into obsession.”
“He was dark and twisted, but maybe I was too”
Brighton is alone. Her mother is a drug addict and her brother is in prison. She moves to San Francisco only to realize her new job fell through. She meets a friend, Nicole, and Nicole helps Brighton find a job. I really liked Nicole. I know she isn’t the main character, but I love all the side characters in the book. I would love for Nicole to have her own story too. That’s how much I love the side characters.
I feel for Brighton. She’s naïve, young and filled with hopes in dreams. She’s also very poor, so she settles and takes a job as an assistant, but she catches the owner’s eye, Ryland. Yeah, don’t you love the story? BUT there’s so much more. This isn’t your typical rich Billionaire Hero lusting after the Heroine story, oh no. There’s so much depth to this book.
Brighton gets a note from a stranger saying they could get her brother out of jail if she does whatever the stranger says for six months. He will basically own her in every way. That has to hook you in by now! It hasn’t, okay, wait, there’s more.
So Brighton of course takes the deal and becomes, lack of the better word, his sex slave. It’s really juicy and steamy and the scenes are dark. These aren’t typical steamy scenes and at times it made me blush. I couldn’t get enough of it.
“I’m not your hero. I’m not the man you want me to be, and someday soon, you’ll understand that”
Throughout the book there are so many things that go one, like Brighton’s past and how Ryland is involved with Brighton. My two favorite things about this book were the dark aspects and the whole mystery to Ryland.
The writing was perfection, the pace was great and it flowed. I could have read hundreds more pages of this book. This author is definitely landing on my best author’s list. I suggest you give it a shot.
Side note: Book 2 continues the story and I have read it. Let’s just say, it’s just as good as book 1.

The Gentleman Mentor is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. Each book will reference a new character.
Brielle needs help. Even though Brielle is beautiful and successful, she needs help in the men department. She has been crushing on her friend for over five years. She wants him to notice her and ask her out since he hasn’t yet. So, she seeks help… via on-line.
Hale is a lawyer. He works a day job and is good at what he does. But he has extracurricular activities that help him distress. He mentors women. He helps them gain confidence in the bedroom. And it just happens that he gets to have sex with them. It’s a win-win situation in his book.
So when sweet Brielle seeks Hale’s help, he happily agrees.
I love Kendall Ryan books because she always delivers.
Things I look forward to:
Super steamy sexy read – YES
Super alpha, sexy, dominate male – Yes
Crazy off the charts sexy chemistry between Hero and Heroine – Yes
Happy fun times and big smile on my face – Why YES!
My head is spinning with questions, and I feel like I’m drowning in this big, beautiful man. I watch him in the moonlight, reveling in the feel of his rough stubble against my neck, breathing in his scent until I feel so full of him, I could burst.
The Gentleman Mentor is a short, fast and super sexy read. I can’t stress how sexy this book is. There’s a lot of steam.
I liked Brielle, I found her adorable, kind of strong and very interesting. I liked how she truly wants help and is willing to play the game. She is nervous meeting Hale, but she’s in such a rut, she’s willing to do anything to get out of it. The poor girl hasn’t had sex in four years!
And there’s Hale. Sigh. I love Hale. He’s a Dominate and he likes to be in control. He keeps women at arm’s length and only plans on six dates with Brielle. The kink level is fairly mild in this one, as much as Hale loves BDSM. I think Kendall is going to bring up the intensity level in the next one.
The relationship between Brielle and Hale is insta-lust at first. Brielle works on not getting attached with Hale and Hale continues to keep Brielle at distance. Hale has past issues and as we read I liked finding out what happened to him and why he acts the way he acts.
Overall, The Gentleman Mentor hit all the right spots. If you are looking for a fun, sexy short read, then this one is for you.
This will be a difficult review to write, because I love the Monsters in the Dark series. I gave the previous books six stars,3 FINAL TESS AND Q STARS
This will be a difficult review to write, because I love the Monsters in the Dark series. I gave the previous books six stars, so when I went into Twisted Together, I had high expectations.
I am not sure what went wrong. I never connected to Tess or Q like I usually do and there was just something lacking for me. I think in the end, the book was just simply TOO LONG.
I really liked the first books because it was just so dynamic and so many things happened, but with Twisted Together, I felt like nothing new happened. I felt like the same plot was rewritten, but just rewritten differently, if that makes sense.
Let me just say, Twisted Together is VERY VERY VERY LONG. You could break the book into two. I am not sure if there was just so much stuff to be written or what. I will be honest and say I could have done without the first 50%. I felt like I already went through all of that and I just didn’t want to read it again.
So, Tess is going through traumatic issues from her escape. I figure she already gotten over it, but I guess she didn’t. I was really frustrated with Tess because she wasn’t really tortured, I mean, yeah, she had to beat girls, but it wasn’t like she got raped or anything like that. So Q is getting frustrated with Tess because Tess doesn’t explain why she’s acting crazy.
I got really upset with this, because usually Q is on top of things and I see his struggles with her and I just couldn’t sit well with it. Then they go on a date and have awkward conversations about Q’s past and again I felt like I was over that too. I just felt like the plot was stagnant.
The second half of the book is a completely new book and there’s some action. I was really happy about this and I was ready for some crazy plot, twist and turns. BUT again, I felt like the plot was just shifting to something I’ve already read in the previous books and when the book shifted I paused and put the book down and was asking myself “REALLY? It went in this direction?” I took a two week break because I just didn’t want to finish.
Finally I decided to give my Tess and Q the closure that I needed. I trooper through and got it done. The last half was frustrating, long and very drawn out. There was a common goal and I felt like it could never be accomplished.
The most I enjoyed is maybe the last 30% of the book, but even then I will admit, I did skim. The dialogue was just too overly descriptive and it took forever to get through one scene. I also didn’t like the internal phrases that kept on being used. Like every time Tess was upset, she would think about what her captives called her. Or every time thought about her love for Q, she kept on thinking about phrases of what Q would say to her. It just kept on repeating itself over and over again.
Twisted Together got a lot of high reviews and I can see that, maybe it was the conclusion everyone was hoping for. Yeah, there some action, some kink and some dark moments, but I guess I just wanted the intensity level to be up a notched and the editing to be cut down to 50% of the book.
It wasn’t for me, but I am happy I got my little piece of Tess and Q and I can put the series behind me.

Who doesn’t love a crazy workaholic Heroine and sexy smart Hero?!
It’s Lin and Kam’s story. Kam is Ian’s half-brother and Lin works for Ian. Lin has been in love with Ian for a long time, but she knows it’s a one sided feeling. She’s very controlled, works a lot and loves her job. Kam is embarking on a new product and Ian is helping him with it. Ian has Lin working with Kam in helping Kam set up meetings and land deals.
Lin is very professional, but Kam’s advances are hard to push away.
Review
I liked Since I Saw You. The read was a little different from the previous books. I felt Since I Saw You was a bit lighter, steamier and had a touch of BDSM. The BDSM wasn’t the focal point of the story, which I liked because I was mostly focused on Lin and Kam’s relationship developing.
Lin
I liked Lin a lot and no, not because she’s Asian (if you didn’t know, I am). I liked her because she’s driven OCD and works like mad. It’s a character I kind of like in a Heroine. Also, it’s kind of sad with her feelings towards Ian. Don’t worry, she doesn’t lust after him during the read, it’s just an underlying feeling you can kind of sense. Who wouldn’t love Ian? He’s so tortured.
Kam
I liked Kam too. I thought he was kind of different. He graduated from medical school so he’s super smart, but instead of finishing up and becoming a doctor, he likes to build things and tinker in technology. Nerd alert, I love it. Yes, he does have a tragic past, we know because of his father, but again, it’s not a focal point of the book.
Overall
Overall, the chemistry between Lin and Kam worked for me. The steam is off the charts and there’s plenty of it. You don’t have to wait long before insa-lust comes to play. Because Lin works so much it’s hard for Kam to get past her “professional” side. Lin doesn’t sleep with people she works with and there’s a bit of tension of her getting past those feelings.
It’s nice to read the parts where Kam pursues her and he’s very dominate and direct with what he wants. You can tell Lin has an internal battle with herself in letting loose verse being in control.
Since I Saw You was a pleasant read with plenty of steam to keep you happy.
