2023(2): Okay so, this is the second time this year that I read this.. haha.. crazy me. :-) But I was on a very nice holiday in Sweden, surrounded by 2023(2): Okay so, this is the second time this year that I read this.. haha.. crazy me. :-) But I was on a very nice holiday in Sweden, surrounded by nature, no internet, and that's when I really love to read LOTR. I always reread it during vacation time. I will skip on part 2 & 3 on audiobook and just continue with the paper version for this year.
2023: It is time for another revisit.. but via Audiobook this time! Very well read by Andy Serkis. Absolutely loved it. Too bad Storytel is so expensive, otherwise I'd listen to audiobooks way more. I'll listen to the other two parts and then cancel my membership again, hehe.

2024: I really enjoyed this book this round of re-reading. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is also one of my favourite movies from the series, 2024: I really enjoyed this book this round of re-reading. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is also one of my favourite movies from the series, so this part has a special place in my heart. The romance is still a bit awkward, but I don't like reading about romance any ways, so that will always be awkward to me. I love reading more about Voldemort's backstory and Professor Slughorn is one of my favourites, because he's really believable as a character.
2021: I love this part of the series. There are some troublesome parts, like with all the books, but these are great stories none the less. It's time to separate the art from the artist and appreciate the adventures. But oh dear, the romance is just awkwardly written....more

Especially the second half, mainly the last few chapters are filled with explanations. It's needed of course, to understand what all happened. At least there isn't a lot of Quidditch in this one.. As with the other books, I feel a little more positive to this compared to my 2020 rereads. Plot holes make me a little less crabby now, I guess.
2020: So, after my sixth reread I took a star off. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is really a downgrade after Prisoner of Azkaban. This book is longer, but is filled with dragged-out scenes of kids being troublesome teenagers. Often the story just dragged along. I really love Harry Potter, but I must be honest to myself. I've never liked the Triwizard Tournament, in the movies it was my least favourite part as well. There are a lot of plot holes, and I HATE plot holes....more

2021: The Order of the Phoenix is the one where the series pick up again for me. The previous instalment didn't really do it for me this time around, and I'm glad that I enjoyed The Order of the Phoenix more. I was wondering if I had lost my love for the series. There are quite some plot-holes (my biggest peeve) and Harry can be quite annoying in this book, but I loved the darker tone....more

2020: This is my favourite book of the whole series. I love Sirius Black, even though the story described in the book doesn't really make sense. The difference between pre-Shrieking Shack-Lupin's opinion & after is just too different. The man really thought Sirius had done all those killings, and he just did a total 180 when he heard. Of course he wanted to believe Sirius was innocent, but I expected more struggle, more dialogue.
Ugh. I really don't understand why the author included the Time Turner. Time traveling is hard to make sense of, and this didn't make sense. Why didn't they use it earlier? Or afterwards? Why not avoid Harry Potter's parents being killed? Or anything. Maybe I just don't understand, but after reading this book for the sixth time, I'm still not convinced. Hermione taking night classes & Harry and the gang breaking out Sirius another way would have been more logical....more

2020 addition: wow, the sixth time reading and I still enjoy this book a lot. I must say, this time around, the bad treatment of Harry by the Dursleys hit me hard. How can they be so cruel? It feels too extreme. I was glad the part was over and that Harry went to Hogwarts. I've never felt so strongly before about the first few chapters. Hmm, must be the beginning of the fall that makes me a bit moody and emotional. I really love autumn, my favourite time of the year, but it always provokes some emotions. Perfect time to reread some favourites.
And what the schmuck were the teachers thinking? How can three kids who barely know any magic find out those secrets and get so far? They really need to work on their security..
2021: I know J.K. Rowling is a twat..
2024: I breezed through it this time. I wish the book was longer.. a lot happens! I miss the more casual relaxing Hogwarts vibe....more

So you don't have to worry if you give this book to your teenager to read, in my opinion.
